I don’t get Lexx on my TV right now so I have to do with what episodes I can rent and reading reviews of others. I just watched giga shadow. In the end Kai’s eyes “blacken” like the divine shadows’ for a moment. Has this come up in later episodes yet? Do the rest of the crew find out? etc. Is Kai fighting it like the cleric, or is he unawares? Since he is dead and has supposedly no motivation, maybe his personality is not even there now? arggg, need space channel.

I recently viewed my copies of the movies with some friends whom I have turned onto Lexx. I don’t remember any sort of special effect in Kai’s eyes. My version was recorded off the SciFi Channel in the USA.
But in any case, I don’t think this point ever comes up in later episodes of the TV show.

Okay, here’s the skinny. Kai is unaware of the insect essence’s presence (he admits in the following episode that he *wasn’t* His Divine Shadow, but did receive his agenda, so only a fairly small amount of the essence was passed on to Kai). It does com up in a later episode, and is fairly quickly resolved, at least on Kai’s end, but an even smaller amount of essence ends up passed along, which leads to the overall story arc of Season 2. Most of the “Kai possessed” stuff is dealt with quickly in the first episode of Season 2.–Aleck
Okay, I stand corrected. I have not seen all of season 2….
…but I just got S2V1 DVD in the mail today! Now I can sit down and watch all three of the newly-released season 2 DVDs! (I got S2V2 & S2V3 in the mail last week. I’ve been waiting for S2V1 in order to watch them all sequentially.)

It was not in the video I bought (I think from VideoFlicks.com). I don’t know why they would do that – it confused me later on. During that hug scene (with the dark-eyes thing), his face sort of goes slack at that moment. Without the eye-effect, it looked like Kai was surprised or something. I thought he was *enjoying* the kiss & hug! I went off on this whole tangent/theory where the Gigashadow’s protoblood was different from Kai’s original protoblood and how he was going to be more “alive” blahdy-blah… Then, when I finally got my first S2 DVD, they showed that hug segment in the intro – this time with the eyes going dark.

It seemed that after the movies they didn’t want people to be misled into thinking that there would be a sequel.
They were convinced (in their arrogance) that Lexx wouldn’t continue, and they didn’t want to deal with the problem of people writng them and asking if a sequel was to be made, so they edited it out for the US audiences…everyone else in the world saw the effect.

That was the name of my talk/variety show back in the day. Regular guests included Charles Nelson Reilly, “coochie-coochie” girl Charo, Paul Williams and Arte Johnson. It only lasted one season before they replaced me with that hack John Davidson. Network a-holes.
–Aleck (apologies to all that are too young to get any of that.)

OMG, LOL! Speaking of Arte Johnson – sometimes when reading and posting here in Lexxland, I almost hear his voice, in that silly “German” accent, saying “Verry interresting. But schtupid.”
Sorry kids, if that’s before your time.——————
