Let’s all join in sending our best wishes to one of Sci-Fi’s most enduring former child stars!
Bill(y) Mumy is perhaps best known for 2 roles: Will Robinson in Lost In Space (the original series) and Lennier in Babylon 5. What is often forgotten is that he’s enjoyed a lifelong career in show business, working steadily, and always with a good sense of humor and affection for his past work. Under the name “Art Barnes,” Bill was 1/2 of the comedy music duo Barnes and Barnes, creators of the incredible novelty hit and Dr. Demento favorite, “Fish Heads.”
If I had to choose my personal favorite Mumy role, it’d come down to this: tied for second would be his Barnes & Barnes work and his role as Jackie Chester in the Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode, “Bang! You’re Dead!”
But first, always first, would be his role as Anthony Freemont in the classic Twilight Zone episode, “It’s a Good Life.”

It’s a GOOD thing that it’s your birthday, Billy! Just don’t wish me into the cornfield!
