Yup, I’ve have the viewing pleasure of resampling the original LEXX series 1 while on Sci-Fi this month and its still a freaky mix. I haven’t really seen these movies for years; and now I have a smattering of a brain cell in the LEXX universe (which of course can be inherently dangerous :wink:) I notice more in detail.
For example Eating Pattern… You know, like the Oh Tannebaum branch that nabbed Zev; and the pyschedelic swamp of the Queen’s lair. How Wist WAS taken over by Lyekka; how similar they were; how it was a semi-finished story even at early stages. How draining a snake into a hole can be so important to some 😉 😈
And Rutger H; he just seemed to relish that insane role ( well, you never know he could of been very happy he had work at all). And all that hub-bub about Doreen Jacobi;ah phooey; cookie cutter looks yeah , but nothing stood out in the acting department for me; pretty average. I think Eva outshone her in both looks and acting; but I’m not a good judge of these things I suppose.
Bahahaha! Lex G in dreds and singing; that was wild. Dude, no Vegas dates, huh? We could so set you up in a little frilly tux and you can do that “Tom Jones-George Clinton floor show” that would cream the goils…. Throw a few feathered beauts around you and you are good to go.
Stan and “pattern” go well together. He was definitely more in control . Bravo to Brian that early in the LEXX saga can play 2 Stanley’s; both that develop in time.

Eating Pattern was my favorite of the first series movies. Stan and Zev needed to eat what the Lexx provided. But Lexx needed to eat, so he lands on a planet to dine. Looking for food, Stan and Zev encounter weirdos who harvest people not for food for themselves but to distill pattern for their snake parasites. And they wind up consuming the Divine Predecessors who used to dine on millions of people on the Cluster. And then the snake parasites, in turn, feed the “queen”. And then the queen hatches and attempts to feed upon the Lexx. It’s a bizarre twisting celtic knot of an interrelated eating pattern. Cool!
Dude I know what the general idea is; I got that the first time; it’s an Aliens type deal; it’s not the general story idea that interests me as much as the details at this point; but thanks for the summary; I’m sure those who have not seen it to this point; now get this the jist of it.
I’m glad you like it, to each his/her own; but what’s with the synopsis; it sounds like a term paper; not a show to entertain us, the masses.
👿 Why you want to bust my hump Flame? I’ve go no problemo going back to “lurk” mode and not say a damn thing. I’m not doing anything wrong. So if you want to go run to whoever and complain about me, do it; but if what Trini says is true about the Oracle and all, you want to take that chance; bring it on. I suggest you should be absolutely certain before as Pat Benatar says “You put me in my place.”
Now back to discussion.
It was also literal of the satellites eating Pattern. Brilliant title all around, and a very good flick to boot. To this day I do not recognize Jeff H, as the guy playing the Pattern game right away. And I’d love to know where those signs went. Something I would buy for sure on e-bay =)
OMFG! I thought it was him. Thanks LL for clearing that up for me. Hmmm…. from “pattern” junky to porn star needing something fluffy; lives have been good to him so far. 😈
Mantrid’s Vigl is in it too (sorry don’t remember the actor’s name).
Now there’s a guy I was sure we’d see on Fire sometime….Mandara, you know as well as I do what the big deal with with Wist was: the costume with the *cough* holes 😉 I haven’t heard any guys comment on her acting yet. 🙄
Somewhere I read a chat with Paul Donovan done before Series 2 started production, and he indicated that they would bring Wist back for the series. Obviously something happened, but I also thought Lyekka was kind of a follow up to Wist. Lexx — the land of man-eating females….

paul, lex and mikey wanted doreen back 😉 …all for different reasons of course…and doreen apparently was willing but had already committed elsewhere by the time they got going on the television series…
eating pattern my favorite too, i guess i just liked the twisted take on addiction…plus, big rutger h fan, no matter how over the top 8) …according to lex, they kind of had to rein him in a bit, as he wanted a lot of bizarre additions to the original character…the lipstick and nose ornament were rutger’s idea as i recall…
and yeah, everyone was quite saddened by the demise of wist’s catsuit 😈

I thought the Wist tongue penetrating poor widdle buggy LEXXie- poo was visually risque’ but effective and oh so true to the story 😈 ;
I enjoyed the asteroid taking her head off; and I like how the LEXX took the initiative to get rid of her.
Now you guys don’t get all huffy puffy; Doreen was okay; Wist was interesting to a point; but now let’s not stone me….underdeveloped 😛 at that stage; something that was rectified in the series with the development of Lyekka.
Again my fair Lexxians, imho
