Is this *really* the end? (Speculation alert)

Who owns Lexx? Salter Street, the SciFi network, or the Beans?
USUALLY, when a series is definitely going to “no questions asked” end, SciFi makes this pretty clear. The last series this happened to was The Invisible Man.
With Lexx, they are only calling it a “season finale,” not the “last episode of Lexx ever.”
SO, if SciFi owns all of the copyrights, character rights, and trademarks, it’s conceivable that they could continue the series WITHOUT the Beans.
We know Michael McManus is sick of the show and wants to get back to theater, but he hinted in his last chat that “my answer will be more clear” later on. Did this mean that there wasn’t absolute closure?
If SciFi doesn’t own the trademarks, they may be willing to purchase them, then they could bring in their own writers and directors, & new and/or old characters (perhaps they’d get Michael McManus back if they gave him a nice raise?) We know pretty certain that the Stan, Priest, and Bunny characters would probably return. And a major character had left before (Zev) and was pretty decently replaced via some creativity.
I guess we’ll have to wait for the final episode to see how open ended they leave it. My guess is there will DEFINITELY be a lot left unanswered (even though Lex has said it wraps up “pretty nicely”). As said in another post, there does seem to be WAY to much plot and backstory to cover in only ONE finale.
Um..no. Scifi has made it crystal clear that the episode is the SERIES finale. They said it in the teaser last night and it says it in the events calender at scifi.com.
It’s over. Not coming back. More dead than Kai.Consider next weeks episode to be the final drop of protoblood.
And I believe Salter owns it. Just making an educated guess though.
I’m almost positive they said “Season” finale, not “Series” …

Salter Street, under the umbrella of Alliance Atlantis, owns [i]LEXX[/i]. SciFi doesn’t own any part of it besides the US broadcast rights.
