Anyone read the Xenia Seeberg interview in the latest issue of SFX? Shes asked if there is to be a spin-off and she says they are working on one and they are considering making a Lexx movie. Sounds like good stuff. Wonder if MM would be tempted back if Lexx hit the big screen?
Aloha, Jumping Jedi! Personally, I’d love to see a Kai-based series to gaze upon the yummy MM, but it sounds like Hell will freeze over before he returns to the small screen. Following Stan and Xev would be great, and Prince is a terrific character, so it would be nice to have them all in the same series. IMHO, Priest and Bunny get to be a bit much in anything other than small doses. The Insect War idea is very cool, but on the other hand it would be nice to have some familiar faces around. (Uhh… I’m basically no help at all on this point!)
As to the tone of the series, it seems that some of the more popular episodes have involved a good mix of darkness and humor, like The Game and Gigashadow. Those that were totally silly (like Midsummer’s Nightmare and White Trash) seem to have been less of a hit. Perhaps because there are already a lot of comedies on TV? The best part about Lexx has been never knowing what to expect from one second to the next. Mixing gore, sex, humor, and wit seems to be the magic formula that sets the series apart from the rest.
Incidentally, re: Hell freezing over:
I read a book years ago where the Devil forgets to pay his electric bill and Hell really DOES freeze over. All sorts of improbable things start happening. I can’t remember the author’s name or that of the book (or short story). Does this sound familiar to anyone? I’d love to find another copy of that book.Thanks.Damn! The only problem would be MM.
