13th May 2002 at 1:48 am #53137sgtdrainoParticipantYikes, that is sad. Guess that makes it perfect for this site!
I’d cough up the money for this in a second.
14th May 2002 at 12:00 am #53138AnonymousInactiveI wouldn’t, It’s not gonna be published (somewhat like the last Lexx book publicised on Amazon)
14th May 2002 at 12:08 am #53139AnonymousGuestAnyone know Titans email. Ill write the blummin book!

JJ, if you’ll read down the board a bit, in a thread that you actually posted in, Valdron explains exactly why the book isn’t happening — it’s not because of there not being anyone to *write* it, it’s the fault of the publisher. The message from Valdron also explicitly states that the book is *not* going to happen, which means that the newer thread you started, listing an out-of-date Amazon entry, was completely unneccessary and quite possibly raised the hopes of people who hadn’t read the earlier thread.

14th May 2002 at 1:32 am #53141AnonymousGuestSorry, I missed the earlier thread. Valdron has explained it all to me now anyway. Thanks.
Ill still write the book.

I’m still saving my money for WHEN Valdron’s book finally does get published.
24th May 2002 at 3:59 am #53143AnonymousInactivemaybe we should all print a page each and put together a bunch of copies that way
24th May 2002 at 5:25 am #53144AnonymousGuestI just took a look at this thread. A small
correction. Titan might well publish a Lexx book. My departure doesn’t mean that they won’t follow through. It will simply be a very poor book.24th May 2002 at 5:29 am #53145AnonymousGuestFor the record, I am now investigating the possibilities of an unauthorized LEXX book. I am aware of two other writers who had been working in this direction. As far as I am concerned, there is no legal or moral impediment to my exploring this avenue.
25th May 2002 at 1:28 pm #53146AnonymousGuestI hope you DO get your book published, authorized or not, and I hope the finished product is what you want, and not what some butthead publisher wants. I’m sure most of us will buy it. Good luck, and please keep at it.

That was kinda harsh, Aleck. Besides as Val has already pointed out, Titan may still release a book although probably not his. Besides I think it’s pretty damned cool that Val has an entry on Amazon
5th June 2002 at 6:19 am #53148AnonymousGuestThe word about Valdron not doing the book has not reached everyone yet. Someone on eBay is auctioning a copy. Nice cover art. Some bidder is going to be disappointed.

I hear it’s out on the 23rd of August.
6th June 2002 at 5:31 am #53150AnonymousGuestThat’s pretty sweet.
6th June 2002 at 5:45 am #53151AnonymousGuestAs of early May they hadn’t had their agreement finalized with Alliance Atlantis.
They have to find a new writer, the poor bastich has to research and write it. I imagine he’s going to have to raid Frey’s store of interviews and rape a few web sites. People involved with the show are spread across two continents and some of them aren’t very cooperative.
Once its written, they edit it, format it to the ‘house style.’ It then goes to Alliance Atlantis and Salter Street for a few weeks to a month for review and approval. Then there’s doing the galleys and revisions. Then there’s production and design, scheduling time with a printer, getting
it printed, getting it into catalogues and
then distributed. The August release date is nothing but a joke.

Actually, he’s not selling a copy of the book, he’s selling a promotional pic for the book that says it due to be out on Aug 23rd. Kinda like the DF flyers saying the Lexx trading cards would be out in April.

Trying to look at too many sites and not getting the details. Thanks for spotting that, Micromary.
