there’s a new room open on lexx.com and me and Frey talked about trying to get everyone there for after the first showing on Friday nite.
Here’s how you get there:

NeXt click either “CGI Chat” or “Java Chat”. I reccomend choosing the Java applet but the CGI will also work.

If we decide to go there Friday night, I could stand in the regular room and redirect people.
With the browser entrance and both CGI and Java entrances it should work for everyone who doesn’t Mirc.
What do the rest of you think? Sound like a winner?

I did not see any sort of warnings. I beleive you if you say there were, but I did not see any. I did not see it coming, I did not expect it. This is why I was so very, very, very angry. I was angry because I felt I was disciplined without warning. I don’t know how I can state my opinion more simply. Now since I have self-control, I didn’t storm back into the chat room and cause trouble. I returned to find out [i]why I was kicked.[/i] But after that, it’s difficult to be sociable with someone who has figuratively smacked me in the face. I know the rules already, like I said. I was under the impression that this was a more “private party” chat room and not a “public area” chat. One doesn’t shout in the middle of a department store. But at a private party, usually the atmosphere is open for that sort of nonsense. I was horribly mistaken and made the wrong assumptions about this chat room and I will never return. As FX said, it was high-handed. Sparkla did not bother to ask for direct acknowledgement from me. (e.g. “Flamegrape, cut it out or you will be kicked, understand?”) And as I said before, I didn’t see any kind of warning. I wasn’t aware that what I typed caused any sort of problem whatsoever. And I only did it once, fer cryin’ out loud! And what I said was nonsense that clearly had no hateful tone to it at all. Getting kicked came as a complete and total suprise. No Flamegrape, it is a regular public room which we were using, it is where the #Lexx room chats about current episodes.
If I am not mistaken, the cap thing was mentioned twice before anyone was bounced. Perhaps, like myself, you are sometimes concentrating on typing and you just missed it.
Please don’t feel embarassed or insulted, I have been bounced a time or two myself for mistakes. I found out the rule I was violating, acknolwedged the error and no one said anything else to me about it.
Truly it is a great room, and Splarka is a really nice guy. In fact I think he is the one who set the #Spoil room up for us peeps who wanted to discuss the new Lexx Stuff. [img]http://www.sadgeezer.com/ubb/smile.gif[/img]

I apologize for not letting new peeps know it wasn’t a private chat. I’d much prefer our own little private chat where we can get cyber-****-faced and make asses of ourselves as we see fit. But it’s a pretty good alternative and Splarka was intelligible enuff to create a spoiler room since spoiler info is forbade in the big room.
It’s a bit more difficult for us SciFi.com people because we are used to the completely unmoderated SciFi server. It’s almost like going from anarchy to facism. And there will be people there with snooty attitudes but you will also find like-minded fans there as well. And.. we’ll all be there right after the show. So at least for a good 2 hours or so after the first airing of LEXX the server will be graced with coolness [img]http://www.sadgeezer.com/ubb/wink.gif[/img]

I’m very sorry that you had such an awful experience in that chat room. Some people have had similar experiences on various message boards. At least your complaints and comments have not been ignored. I have seen people who have left various messages and comments in chat rooms and on message boards that have not even been acknowledged by anyone. Or better yet, I don’t feel that same way about a particular character, actor, or episode as someone else might. After all it’s only words…I’ll probably never meet this person, or talk with them on the phone. I don’t even know if they are who they say they are or if they are telling the truth of lying. But, guess what? It still hurts! It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it. Regardless of that fact that it’s in a chat room or on a message board. I have an old Mac and I have a hard time even getting into some of these chat rooms (think I’m lacking some software that I might need) and when I do I can’t always see all the messages at once, so it’s sort of hard to make sense of what is going on at any given moment. Unlike you, I probably wouldn’t know if I had broken a rule or offended someone or not, because the connection keeps breaking or, like on Sad’s sight I get automatically logged out. Besides that, I haven’t been on the internet anywhere near as long as you have. I didn’t mean to be so long winded about this. I feel as if I’m going way out on a limb just writing this. I just want to share the experience of LEXX with people that also enjoy the show, becasue I am continually asked the question,”Why and how can you watch that?” Basically, I just wanted to say that I’ve been there too and that I care, and I really do mean it.

I think theres a blank space in there (I had the same problem on Friday night until I put the space in). I’m not sure if it’s before or after thd # sign. Experiment and see if it works?

I dread the end of Lexx for another reason, this board and it’s people would no longer be here.
This summer has been terrible for me, but thanx to this board and the friends I’ve made it makes this summer one to remember for a long time.
I personally will never forget my time here and I don’t think I will ever come across another place on the web that has this board’s spirit (No FX, I’m not talking about the Demon), some people may think it’s quite sad to say such a thing, but this is a community of friends just as real as you would find in the real world, and I’m glad I’m part of it.

Yeah that’s true, I never thought of that, but what would you talk about when the programme has long gone, I’ve always wondered that, maybe I should read the posts on Red Dwarf to get an idea!!!

I think Rach is wonderful! and a dedicated LEXXian. She’s also a VERY good programmer. When I looked for a chatroom that I could put on this site, I also to a look at the software she uses. After a few days I gave up.
I heartily recommend her website and especially her chatroom facility – its the best cgi chatroom I’ve seen.
Please don’t feel that you are deserting homebase (as FX so elloquently put it) if you use the chat at darkzone.org. It must be a real pain for you guys having to use the toy chatroom I have here, but not to worry, eventually, I’ll get round to upgrading the chat to something more professional – but first I have some major work to do on the SADBoard.
