Looks like we have our answer to what show will be moving into Lexx’s slot Friday nights after the finale.

I liked the first two seasons of this show, couldent keep up after that so will be a nice addition. I couldent find out wether or not this liscense was purchased or aquired through Vivendi. Either way its a positive move imo over continuing Strange World(even if they could’ve).

Sci-fi also recently announced they will be making a series out of “Firestarter: Rekindled” most likely to be used in Friday Prime.

Just FYI not sure if anyone even cares

Actually I need to correct myself, they still will re-run Lexx through May. Im very *very* curious as to if Sci-Fi will re-run Series2-3-4 in a less attractive slot. Seeing how sci-fi was bought by a major movie/television producer its hard to predict.

lol yeah that was pretty much my reaction.

I mean come’on it was a pretty good movie but that doesent mean it should be a “series” no matter how high it rated.

They havent said if it will be about Charley, in fact they may make it about the kids in Malcom McDowells programs. Kinda like X-men meets 7 year olds

We were discussing this a few months ago in the SG1 forum. Scifi bought the viewing rights to the show. It will rerun all 5 seasons (M-F) starting in the fall.

SG1 was shown on Showtime on Fridays at 10pm. Scifi wants to maintain the high ratings it saw on Showtime, by keeping its old time time slot. Another “coinicidence” is that scifi is calling its Firday night lineup “Scifi Fridays”, as opposed to “Friday Prime”. The new name may be because that it appears that only two shows will be shown now instead of three, or becasue Showtime called their Friday lineup “SciFridays”.

Firestarter show? That’s a recipe for disaster in more ways then one!

Since this will be the last season of SG1, SciFi has basically bought the rights to rerun the series. They also recently annouced the purchase of X Files and Roswell for reruns. Taken individually that’s OK, they’re decent shows, but taken as a whole it bothers me — they seem to be giving up on original series. I don’t count stuff like Firestarter as an original series. They just figure people will watch as they associate it with Stephen King. As Headgehog says, it already smells of disaster. I know they announced an extensive “development” slate, but development is a very vague term and what I expect to see from those efforts is mostly 90 minute “horror lite” TV movies.

I know they’re focussed on ratings, they want names: they’re paying for the Spielberg miniseries and another Dune miniseries, Dan Ackyroyd’s paranormal talk show , blah blah blah. Somehow none of this thrills me. Noone is taking any chances and there’s no feeling that we’re going to see anything surprising–a really wild imagination let loose, a new talent given a chance. Maybe Lexx spoiled me. Maybe I’m just in a bad mood that it’s ending. Maybe it’s some kind of miracle that it got on the air at all…

Hmm, maybe I should move over to the Angst forum!
