KeymasterSince no new episodes will be shown over here in the states until January I thought this would be the perfect time to give my feelings on SEASON FOUR THUS FAR. That’s why the message is titled SEASON FOUR THUS FAR. Get it?
Anyway. . . let me put my views in perspective first.
The first episode of Lexx I ever saw was the last half-hour of “Terminal.” I enjoyed it, but it didn’t really strike me as all that interesting. Then came the night that changed my life forever (I’m very dramatic in case you couldn’t tell), I was bored and tuned into an episode of Lexx, this would be my first full episode. It was “End of the Universe.” I thrilled as I watched and at the end saw that Season Three would be premering the following Friday. I never looked back.
So there you are. Season Three was my first true taste of Lexx and so my views of Lexx are tainted by that season.
On to Season Four. . .
4.01: This set Lexx up into another story arc. I wasn’t too thrilled. The episode was a shock after Season Three and really didn’t hold my interest too much.
4.02:The main story didn’t interest me much, Xev, high-tempered Texeans. . .eh. But Kai and the ‘cult’ Oh , yes I wanted to see more. And that conversation between Prince and Stan was pure gold, esp. with 790’s betrayal.
4.03:This seemed like something from the 2nd Season. . . without the spirit. I really enjoyed Season Two, but this just didn’t seem the same. Over all, not that great.
4.04:I liked this episode. Stan was at the center and he was forced to work with Prince. I still don’t know what was up with the kid.
4.05:Funny. The return of Fifi (who I hated in Luvliner, an episode I didn’t like) was great and a bit more information on the carrots was a real help. 790’s constant betrayals seem only natural.
4.06:You have got to love this episode. Kai singing, the return of Bunny (“You’re a bad man.” Hehehehehehehehe), and the destruction of NewFoundland. Wonderful.
4.07:Another winner. There is nothing more to say.
4.08:Vlad, Vlad she’s our girl if she can’t do it. . . well I suppose no one can. When she started slappin’ Kai around like a rag doll you knew this was one villian to look out for. It rocks, just because she’s in it. Which is really the whole point.
4.09:I hated this episode with the exception of the last minute. Kai lives!, dies within one episode, Lyekka( who I didn’t want to die the first time I saw “End of the Universe”) is not Lyekka she is Loo Loo and there’s no ifs ands or buts about it. And I think from this point on anyone who stills the key for no reason is from fire. The High Points:Xev realizing what she’s done, Vlad waking up and the key going into a Moth Breeder (“Must breed moths.” It was great!)
4.10: I really don’t know what to say. Vlad killed by stan with a magically staff that was brought there by two clerics/druids who are obviously plot devices. I am so ashamed. Vlad gone just like that ? I couldn’t take it and collapsed into unconciousness. I was glad that Xev didn’t come back right away and Stan’s reaction (which I almost missed because I was unconcious) was beautiful and almost made the episode worthwhile. Still this was better then Fluffdaddy. *Sigh*
Well, this is way too long and I’m going to stop now. Needless to say Lexx still is the best show on TV and I will continue to watch.
I’d love to hear what others think of S4 so far.29th September 2001 at 9:20 pm #49067Anonymous
GuestWell, being in the UK and relying on tapes being sent from the US Im only up to “The Rock” with Season 4.
Overall Season 4 is the most consitently brilliant Season of Lexx so far. More seems to happen per episode than other shows do in an entire series. Story Arcs are good and the actors/characters really seem to gel.
Favourite moment ; Xev and Brud Parsnip on the Lexx when he gets out his keyboard and Xev tries to hold back the giggles. Magical moment.
If the rest of Season 4 keeps this up Lexx deserves some Awards. (And a Fifth Season!)

GuestI’ll put this down here instead of on that huge post above.
I really liked Magic Baby. I found it exciting and well done. It was just the fact that Vlad was killed so easily that really turned me off to the whole episode. Otherwise, great acting by Brian and some great story.30th September 2001 at 4:50 am #49069DalekTek790
ParticipantMy favorite season four episode is Texx Lexx. The part with Zev and the yokels wasn’t that great, but I loved Dr. Longbore and the Shadow Society! I can’t wait ’til the next episode featuring them!
