I heard that Series 2 was filming, has anyone heard anything else about it?
30th September 2002 at 10:06 am #64696AnonymousGuestSeason 2 is filming in Missisauga. It’s called “Starhunter 2300” , the “2300” is because the second Season takes place 15-25 years later than the first. Some characters make it to the future through hyperspace I gather, don’t know which make it or not. Tanya Allan has been interviewed during the filmming so we know Percy is back anyway. SPACE is still involved and so is the Dor/Jackson team. All I know for now…
30th September 2002 at 10:23 am #64697AnonymousGuestJeff Hirschfield, one of the principal writers for LEXX, has written an episode for the second series. Apart from that, the british actor who plays Caravaggio, the personality of the ships AI, is not coming back. A new actor, probably in front of a greenscreen in England will be the new ships AI.
But beyond that, I really have a lot of trouble caring.
1st October 2002 at 5:50 am #64698AnonymousGuestYEEESSSS!
Although, I’m not too sure about the 15-25 years after thing…
But hey, next thing you know it turns out 2B better than the first season, so maybe I’m being a bit petty here. After all, there were definitely elements that needed changing from the first season (Percy character development, and Dante’s too, to a lesser extent) and hopefully, the 2nd season’ll rectify these probs.
7th October 2002 at 1:29 pm #64699AnonymousGuestI just read some fan comments on Michael Pare’s fansite, and it seems the new Starhunter (Starhunter 2300 or something) WILL NOT include Michael Pare!
So the character of Dante Montana is gone.
Unless he’s played by some older actor now if the story of this show’s new incarnation is to take place 15-25 years later.7th October 2002 at 2:17 pm #64700AnonymousGuesthttp://epguides.com/Starhunter/
An update to my previous post.
This link is to a sort of episode guide…that includes comments on all the episodes of the next season (or series). While for Season 1, there is a brief paragraph or two on each espisode (what it’s about), for the second one, there is only like one sentence but gives you an idea of what the episode is about (order of episodes and other info is subject to change, of course).
Yes, it seems the character of Percy is still there as well as the ship, the Tulip (what a dumb name for a ship).
There is an series 2 episode called “Eccleston” (or whatever) where Percy leaves the ship to try and “find Dante”.
A following episode regarding hyperspace or something, mentions them finding “the shadow” of Dante, or something like that.I never saw the last episode of Season 1, the series just started showing over here in the US, I’m only like on episode 3 or 4.
Maybe he character will be back for a cameo or not, whatever, oh well.
I’m still waiting for Tracker to return for a Season 2, but I heard recently this show was finally “cancelled” (or called it “quits” or something).
Sucks, cuz like Starhunter, there are alot of good sci-fi shows out there that just never get the publicity or backing they deserve.
I’m just SICK AND TIRED of the same old mainstream sci-fi: Star Wars or Star Trek.
UGH!
Something new for a change, PULEEEAZE?!Andromeda is OKAY but not really an “intelligent-but-with-action/entertainment” as Babylon 5 was when it was, thankfully, around.
Furthermore in my small rant, Firefly: is OKAY so far, though it seems backing for this show has been weak: they aired it at the worst possible times: Friday at like 8 or 9pm, excuse me, but NO ONE sits down to watch TV on a Friday night! And I also think it premiered like on a Sunday or something. And this past Friday: the show’s 3rd episode was a “no show”!
They pushed it back a week or so.
Not a good sign.
I fear it might eventually share the same fate as the underrated Space:Above and Beyond which only lasted like one season as well (this was an awesome show, a few small lame things here and there, but ultimately, gung-ho and kick-arse).Total Recall 2070 was another good show that was only around for like one season.
Star Command never got past it’s pilot episode.
Crusade and Legends of the Rangers.
The list goes on.9th October 2002 at 8:31 am #64701AnonymousGuestquote
Yes, it seems the character of Percy is still there as well as the ship, the Tulip (what a dumb name for a ship).
Actually, it’s kinda funny when you consider it!quote
Crusade and Legends of the Rangers.
Look at Crusade this way: if it’s a spin-off of Babylon 5 and it rips off Blake’s 7, it wasn’t gonna last long anyway.
Personally, I’d rather watch Starhunter than Crusade anyway! 20th October 2002 at 12:06 pm #64702AnonymousGuestJust saw “Divinity Cluster” episode of Starhunter. Seems like there are two names for the ship cause people not on the Tulip call it TransUtopian Starliner or close eonough, only the people who are crew call it Tulip, so it’s their abrievation or nickname for it. Guess it was too much of a mouthfull to say TransUtopian Starliner all the time, “Tulip” is it…
21st October 2002 at 3:11 pm #64703AnonymousGuestNo, the Tulip used to be a TransUtopian Starliner…
26th October 2002 at 1:53 am #64704AnonymousGuestI can confirm that Season 2 of Starhunter is currently being shot in Mississauga. The filming of several episodes has already been completed. The new season has a substantially larger cast and the sets are far more extensive, detailed and spacious than in season 1.
By the way, the name “Tulip” comes from the letters remaining from “TRANSIT UTOPIA STARLINER” on the side of the decrepid ship (the last “R” has its tail obscured, making it a “P”).

26th October 2002 at 4:28 pm #64705AnonymousGuestAs long as it’s redone in the fashion of Babylon 5 with excellent character development and storyline, and not the fashion of Andromeda ….
27th October 2002 at 6:44 am #64706AnonymousGuestThere is nothing wrong with Andromeda, TIL…
27th October 2002 at 2:16 pm #64707AnonymousGuestNothing wrong.
Nothing right.
28th October 2002 at 3:28 pm #64708AnonymousGuestThe wrong in it was Kevin Sorbo… he has chicken legs, I’ve noticed!
28th October 2002 at 9:06 pm #64709AnonymousGuestEverything wrong with Andromeda can be summed up in those two words: Kevin Sorbo
BTW: Chicken Legs? What’s up with that?
29th October 2002 at 9:55 am #64710AnonymousGuestHe has chicken legs… as seen when he was playing basketball, can’t remember which episode.
12th November 2002 at 4:53 pm #64711AnonymousGuestDoes anyone know if or when the second season of this great show will air in the UK? Or when/on what channel the first season aired? I am very eager to see it, thank you.
20th December 2002 at 11:32 pm #64712AnonymousGuestIs it true Clive Robertson is starring in the second season as Travis?
25th December 2002 at 6:37 am #64713AnonymousGuestTRAVIS???!!
(Sorry, Blake’s 7 flashback.)
I’ve heard that he could be in it as well. Personally, I didn’t like Travis so I hope if Clive Robertson’s going to play the charactor, he’s going to liven the charactor.28th September 2003 at 6:05 am #68572AnonymousGuestOkay, I’ve watched enough episodes now to have some thoughts.
It’s still dull and dreary, but not as awful as the first season. They’ve dumped Michael Pare’s terminally burnt out Dante Montana. Which is a good thing.
Tanya Allen is back, and very fetching in an underage porn star/engenue kind of way. All to the good.
The character who played Rudolpho is back, this time he’s actually joined the rest of the cast, instead of just doing a five minute, time wasting monologue. He’s actually not too bad. He’s a competent, watchable actor.
In terms of new cast members. They’ve got a new actor to play Travis Montana. Instead of being the next step in evolution, this actor comes across as a Eurotrash Pierce Brosnan wanna be. Not necessarily a bad thing. He’s at least watchably charming, but seems to be failing to really distinguish himself.
There’s a new hologram that we don’t care about, replacing the old hologram that we didn’t care about.
The chemistry/charisma free black actress who played ‘Luc’ is gone. Well, perhaps she can wind up some place where she actually relates to the other characters. She always came across like she was physically on some other set.
Two new characters. Basically, a kid sidekick for Travis. Crew cut, skinhead, yadda yadda. British actor. Not really distinguishing himself.
And a female gunslinger, who is interesting in the way that a second string porn star is interesting. But so far, she’s not doing too much.
CGI effects are better. The set work by Lexx’s David Hackl, has improved.
There were signs of a plot arc, but now that certain producers have departed, that may be gone as well. Ellen Dubin’s Doctor Bode was originally planned as a recurring character.
If I had to speculate as to what might be going on, it would be that the aliens who buried themselves in the Divinity Cluster are starting to re-emerge, and Travis and crew were going to keep stumbling across the various warning flags for humanity.
As it is. I don’t really know. And I don’t especially care.
It’s a shame, I would really like to like this show. The backstory and world on their web site is well constructed and very interesting. But I don’t get much of a sense that the show
is fulfilling its promise. It misses out on the royal jelly, or whatever it is, that makes a show like Lexx, Farscape or even Firefly a cult item.
26th May 2004 at 8:49 pm #70918ladytassParticipantFirefly oh pleaseeeeeeee what was so great about that show? The few I ever saw were really just an old western put into space.
I didn’t see much good in that show I mean it might have had a couple of good scenes but other than that it lacked everything. no edge, It reminded me of a rip off of the A-team.27th May 2004 at 8:02 pm #70932AnonymousInactiveAh well, to each his/her own taste. I’m biggest on old sci-fiish shows like the original Twilight Zone, Star Trek TOS, The Prisoner, Blake’s 7, UFO, The Invaders etc. Enjoy muchly newer ones like Lexx, Babylon 5, Stargate, and Odyssey 5 (which Valdron) doesn’t like, and think Farscape’s pretty good, and Firefly’s okay… (never got into it).
I thought the mystery of the Divinity Cluster intriguing. I like StarHunter, is it great? I don’t know, but it has a cultish quality (which I can’t define 😆 ) about it. One of the few sci-fi shows I will definitely watch if I notice it’s on (I watch very little TV, and can never remember when a show is on). Starhunter is a show I’ve definitely enjoyed, and one that caught my eye as interesting immediately.
