This was the first episode this season I found disappointing. The satire seemed a little stretched and too preposterous. I mean, there were a few nice touches. Great to see Ms. Rotta. Xev’s sudden discovery of Kai’s talent was refreshing (though why not follow through on the threat to Prince?). But Priest wasn’t nearly funny enough and the whole storyline there seemed real stretched.

Very much like a season 2 episode, really, or maybe Beverly Hillbillies in the White House, so I can’t complain too much. But are we ever going to get a real explanation about how the fire people integrated into Earth and it’s history?

So my theory is that one of the carrots will wind up ‘up’ Prince.

This episode let me down as well. Why in the hell would they not follow through with the plan of sending Kai to kill Prince? In fact, they already told him to do it, but Kai seemed to be disinterested after they agreed that Prince wasn’t the only source of evil on the planet. So what? Kill him anyway. Give these characters some damned progress before the whole show ends. Luckilly, the last few episodes after this one were better; however, I see a lot of wasted time failing to tell a worth-telling story in this season so far. There was the same kind of thing in series 2 and 3, but by now there should be some progress in working out the overall development of characters and story-telling.

i respectfully disagree…while this season is definitely more over the top , the shows are moving very quickly with only a few groans…this whole season thus far is a pas de quatre between prince and the lexx crew with earth as the unfortunate staging ground, so killing off prince would sort of kill the purpose of being on earth…also, each episode is following through on some major development from the previous eppy, hence stan trying to claim newfoundland as king, kai trying to get to transylvania, prince trying to get the lexx and so forth…i would like more of the twisted humor from season 2 as in terminal or love grows, but overall i am having a lot of fun with the canadians take on americans…as well as the beans willingness to break a few taboos, such as killing annoying children or at least hanging them up on walls!
