WARNING!
SPOILERS AHEAD!It definitely wasn’t earth. That is, if we’re talking the Tim Burton-helmed remake. The two moons in the sky are the giveaway. The movie takes that conceit from Pierre Boulle’s original novel: that the protagonist’s adventures take place on another world, and when he returns, he is faced with an earth whose population consists of apes. I have no idea where the horses came from, though. There are some things you just have to suspend disbelief about.

22nd August 2001 at 12:39 am #42767AnonymousGuestVery good point Darkclaw.
Most people dont know that here on Earth horses were modified by humans.
Originally most horses couldent support the weight of a normal person. Several early civilizations specifically bred horses for size/strength/speed until we ended up with what we have today.
3rd September 2001 at 10:00 am #42768AnonymousGuestTo hell with the horses, if it was just the monkeys and orangutangs on the space station – Where the hell did the gorillas come from! And what did they need an army for? The humans were no threat to the apes. Horse adds there was no real enemy to warrant such a vast army. Additional: “TO HELL WITH HORSES”?
To hell with monkeys.
That was Horse’s first message on SG BB.
I am the Monkey!4th September 2001 at 2:31 pm #42769AnonymousGuestLook I dont care about the horse all i care about is why the hell when he got back to earth where they all apes there something in the future cant affect something in the past.
5th September 2001 at 7:32 am #42770AnonymousGuest Well, let’s assume there were already horses on the planet when the apes got there. It seemed to me like they’d been there for a looooong time, so maybe they just modified the horses the way we did. Jabba: it made a spiffy ending. It doesn’t have to make sense. 9th September 2001 at 7:34 am #42771AnonymousGuestThe ending was only for a hook to have the chance to make a 2nd movie. And it seems the year of the 2nd movie to make more then the 1st. Just got back from seeing The Musketter(?) and if you love the classics dont go to see it….BUT if you love to see silly remakes go with an open mind and have fun. Some good laughes, lots of silly sword fights, and of course an opening for 2nd movie.
I am the Monkey9th October 2001 at 12:58 am #42772AnonymousGuestwell, now you’ve all got me stumped. i thought the whole time it was earth. an earth of the future would’ve explained the horses. Damn! do i have to take notes when i watch a movie? i’ll watch alot closer when the dvd comes (ordered it yesterday, its packed with all kinds of xtras). maybe it’ll even answer the question of the ending.
