“The Trip”, excellent episode there. The beans seem most comfortable when writing strange drug-induced episodes above all others. Reminded me a bit of The Net/The Web. Good to see a living Kai and Xev in the shower again. Some freaky effects going on too. What was the AI robot like Xev thing on the bed *shudder*.

Certainly looks like its building up to the finale. Lets hope the next episode features a 300 foot lyekka godzilla stlye ramage over tokyo.

    I LOVED THIS EPISODE!

All you smegheads (j/k) that have been bashing season 4 can’t possibly convince me it’s a bad episode in any way! They’re nowhere near Earth, Lexx is healthy and flying around deep space. And I know someone is going to say it’s just another “filler” episode. It isn’t. I just don’t beleive in that term. What about Stan and Xev’s character development?

Nevermind about cycle-of-time theories. Finally the one and only important question has been answered. I’ve been wondering about it for a long time. Just what color is Xev’s underwear!?! Yes! YES! Now I finally know! RIGHT ON!

Psycho robot head was a scream! Hilarious! He was actually enjoying egging on Stan and Xev’s dementia. I wonder if that was really Prince or just a hallucination?

Before the beginning of this episode, I turned to my friend and said, “It’s all going to be a dream, or something like that. Kai won’t come back to life.” It turns out I was right about that, but I don’t mind. At least you get to see Live-Kai again.

Kai and Xev in the shower was the best scene ever made for sci-fi television! Kai and Stan in bed was the funniest scene ever made for sci-fi television!

Kids, don’t do drugs. That is unless you have the supervision of someone completely sane and rational like Kai was at the end of the episode. Do not drop acid, or do X, or whatever in uncontrolled situations. Especially situations involving heavy equipment such as automobiles!

At the end of the episode, did we see Stan kick 790 off the bridge?

The cryopod controls are wrecked. Can they fix them or are they screwed? And what about Dr. Longbore? Prince and his promise?

Next comes Lyekka vs Japan! Oh wow! I was just making wild guesses near the beginning of the season when I found out the name of this episode. But they’re actually going to do it! A Godzilla-sized Lyekka stomping around Tokyo. Even better, the Japanese buildings and aircraft look like those toy models they used in all those monster movie! LMAO!

Welcome back Flame! Glad you liked the episode too.

Xev pants? Did I miss that bit? What colour where they? I think her pants may be interconnected to the cycle of time theory. just a thought…..

Countdown begins now. 2 to go.

Ok first of it’s not “the trip” just “trip”…that’s been bugging me.

This episode was great great great. It had everything I could possibly want in a LEXX episode.

I was expecting this episode to be filler but I really don’t think it was. It was sort of the brigadoom of the season in terms of the arc(where most of the episode had nothing to do with the arc but the events in the end caused it to relate to the arc.)

    “Trip”/”The Trip”, whatever

Liked the singing in this episode too. I always get a little shiver down my spine when they start singing.

I LOVED this episode–maybe my favorite all season, although I’ve especially enjoyed some of the other Jeff Hirshfield eps, too (Xevivor & Mort were also terrific). I also thought of “Brigadoom,” since the realization at the end of just how evil Lyekka (and her “sisters”!) are seems to lead to the upcoming confrontation back on earth (like Stan’s decision to confront Mantrid). I thought the way Xev’s & Stan’s fantasies were distinguished was handled particularly well, and I agree the acting was great. And, of course, there was that living Kai…

Two questions that I’m a little fuzzy about(although I’ve only seen the ep. once, so maybe repeated viewings might make this clear). First, whose fantasy was it when Xev & Stan first go to the cryochamber & see Kai singing to his “gift”? Xev’s, Stan’s, or both (??). And second, why did the berry make Stan sick and not Xev? Cluster lizard physiology? Or was it a way of making Stan even more paranoid?

I found the ending of the show particularly touching, when Kai said he only had days or weeks left–it really brought home that Lexx is almost at the end (sob!).

    Anyway, it was great!

This is just another filler episode.
Don’t get me wrong, it was a very NICE filler episode. A good example of filler, as opposed to a bad example of filler (ie Mort).

Yes, there was that minor tie-in of the revelation that Lyekka is an enemy, but to me it felt cobbled-on. Mostly this episode was a simple excuse to get wacky with a plot totally unconstrained by the bounds of reality. If Lyekka was really out to eliminate them, it would have been simpler to just poison them, than to make them paranoid.

But I don’t want to come down to hard. The interaction and comedy of this episode was GREAT. Very funny. All the performances were excellent, and we were quite entertained. Lexx’s lines to Stan about killing Xev was my personal favorite moment. And I agree with JumpingJedi, the singing WAS nice.

    quote

All you smegheads (j/k) that have been bashing season 4 can’t possibly convince me it’s a bad episode in any way!

    Well, I like a challenge.

    1. “It was all a dream” episodes tend to be inherently disappointing. You’ve got to admit you were a bit disappointed that Kai was still dead at the end. I know I was.

    2. It’s high time they got serious, for the big finale. In the previous seasons, things have always gotten heavy and edge-of-your-seat towards the end. Yet we are still frollicking about with light comedy, and no real sense of impending doom. Only two episodes left, and next week’s doesn’t look serious either!

    quote

Finally the one and only important question has been answered. I’ve been wondering about it for a long time. Just what color is Xev’s underwear!?! Yes! YES! Now I finally know! RIGHT ON!

Eh, Xev already told us that she doesn’t wear underwear. Did you see underwear? where?

    quote

I wonder if that was really Prince or just a hallucination?

    Hallucination.

    quote

Before the beginning of this episode, I turned to my friend and said, “It’s all going to be a dream, or something like that. Kai won’t come back to life.” It turns out I was right about that, but I don’t mind. At least you get to see Live-Kai again.

But you didn’t. It was just an hallucination. And on top of that, I like Lexx better when it’s NOT predictable.

    quote

At the end of the episode, did we see Stan kick 790 off the bridge?

I believe we did, yes. Of course, Vlad threw him off in Magic Baby and he wasn’t even scratch, while he broke when he fell off in Fire and Water. So who knows?

    quote

The cryopod controls are wrecked. Can they fix them or are they screwed?

Kai says they can’t be repaired. Although there is a working cryopod underneath Castle Dracul… but we’re betting the Beans aren’t going to mess with it.

    quote

    And what about Dr. Longbore?

Weird how they just seem to drop that plot point. In Dutch Treat, Kai seemed determined to put an end to Longbore, but that was four episodes ago. It seems to have slipped his mind.

    quote

    Prince and his promise?

Only two episodes left. And in the previews for next week, Kai still looks dead. I personally predict that Prince will not keep his promise until the very last episode.

    quote

But they’re actually going to do it! A Godzilla-sized Lyekka stomping around Tokyo. Even better, the Japanese buildings and aircraft look like those toy models they used in all those monster movie! LMAO!

Yes, yes. Laugh-out-loud funny. I miss the more serious days.

First off dunno if its been mentioned but this was a pure “Jeff H” ep no other writer listed ;p So you “Xevivor-haters” have something nice from Jeff now

While this was one of the best eps ever I still dont like its placement. It shouldent be 4.22 Nothing was changed or evolved from the storyline standpoint other than

    a) Lyekka has eaten other planets and now seems clearly evil

    b) The cryopods are forever broken

That was pretty much it. The ep had more laughs than any other this season. I particularly liked Stan and Kai in bed.

That was probably stand alone the funniest scene this season.

All the singing was a hoot too. MM gave a better rendition than he gave in Brigadoom. And 790 had his own little political statement going on with his mouth barred up electronically. Thought that was funny too.

Pure Jeff H ep tho. Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll.

Actually, at the end Kai says he’s been in his cryopod since Stan ate his berry which would make that part of the hallucination.
The hallucinations seemed to be a combination of shared and individual.

The first post I make in the Lexx forum in weeks and it gets ripped apart. LOL. Once again I feel I must defend my modest opinion on a point-by-point basis.

If Trip was just filler, then so was Brigadoom. Brigadoom provided motivation for the crew of the Lexx to fight Mantrid. Trip provided motivation for the crew of the Lexx to fight Lyekka and, in addition, risk confrontation with Prince (a point heavily underscored in this episode). Unlike Brigadoom, the motivation was direct, not subtley inspired in a song. Lyekka attempted to poison Stan and Xev. Remember that part? It was the part where they ate those berries and succumbed to homicidal paranoia. Lyekka tried to trick the only ones who had the power to stop her. Why did Lyekka take this action? Because she found out that Xev did not trust her in Apocalexx Now, another episode accused of being “filler”. And obviously Xev has an influence over Stan that overrides Lyekka’s charms, a characterization that was heavily underscored in Trip. If this episode was just filler, then the Lexx and crew would fly off into space and return to Earth to defeat Lyekka for no good reason.

Motivation doesn’t come from out of nowhere or contrived with wooden, rational emotions. That kind of thing happens on shows like Star Trek.

    (Activating know-it-all subroutine… j/k)

You see, there’s this thing called theater that was invented by the Greeks ca. 500 B.C.E. They used masks such as the ones seen above.

“The philosopher Aristotle called Euripides the most tragic of the poets because his plays were the most moving. Like tragedy, comedy arose from a ritual in honor of Dionysus, but in this case the plays were full of frank obscenity, abuse, and insult.”

These two masks, comedy and tradgedy, have become a symbol for theater in general. The makers of Lexx should be proud of their creation. It contains heavy does of both comedy and tradgedy. On many occasions in season 4, we see the death of millions of people in comedic fashion, a point spelled out in mile-high neon letters in Trip. (Stan and Xev giggling about billions of aliens being eaten by Lyekka.)

    (DEACTIVATING know-it-all mode!)

And while we’re talking about filler episodes written by Jeff, let’s talk about Xevivor for just a second. Another thread discussed subplot arcs this season. There is at least one subplot that was ignored in that thread: XEV THE SUPERSTAR and her quest to get laid. Her incredible libido and it’s function in the story is all too often ignored as unimportant compared to hero Kai or the evil plots of the bad guys. Involved in a trailer park multiple murder, internet porn goddess, hit TV show star… her fame on Earth was an important plot point on many occasions. (e.g. Magic Baby, Mort, and Haley’s Comet.)

Nope, sorry. I wasn’t disappointed. I like undead Kai the way he is. If he had actually came back to life in this episode, I would have commented that the Beans were pandering to the Kai-droolers. I would have been happy for the good ol’ Kai-droolers, but it would have deprived Kai of his supernatural powers. They would have had to re-establish Kai as a new and different character with different motivations and emotions… yet another point that was made in this episode.

Simple answer: Kai is doomed. He will DIE. Will Prince keep his promise and allow him to live? That doesn’t have you in suspense? It does for me, as I’m sure it does for the Kai-droolers!

In season 2, the crew of the Lexx had no choice but to deal with Mantrid in one way or another. They chose the heroic path. Here in season 4, they don’t have to go back and save the stupid little blue planet. They chose to return to Earth and face peril. That takes real courage. More courage than necessity, which was the case in season 2.

Who knows, maybe Prince really was helping them snap out of their potentially fatal drug trip. Prince maybe gave them something else more rational to distrust other than each other. Or not. Prince is enigmatic. In this episode, I don’t think you see Prince doing anything out of character. Why didn’t Stan and Xev hallucinate Prince wearing black? Neither of them had ever seen Prince wearing white before. Only Kai (who was asleep during the trip) saw Prince wearing white.

You’re splitting hairs. I said that I was right about my prediction that it would all be just a dream. But I also said you (the viewer) get to see Live-Kai (MM portraying the part of Kai as he would be if he were alive) again. Look up at the picture I posted above. Who’s hand is on Xev’s thigh? It’s Kai looking very much alive. Yes, I know he’s just a hallucination. The point I was trying to make is that the viewer gets to see Kai live and breathe, even if it’s just a dream. How many convoluted variations of explainations told in a Mojo-Jojo fashion does it take to get my point across? Sheesh! (You know I’m only kidding, sgtdraino!)

    quote:

Speak for yourself. It could be part of the reason why the Vlad subplot existed in the first place.

    Anyway…

IMHO, this episode ranks up there with Brigadoom. Instead of a musical, it was a drug trip. It was “medicine” before the battle, to use the North American Indian term. But who was the “medicine man” that guided our heros? I think that might be Prince. Otherwise Stan and Xev would have certainly killed each other. (I have to check my tape on this point but…) Why did Prince tell both of them to go to the cryochamber? Kai was there to save them. What’s his motivation for saving Earth? Maybe all the other planets have been eaten by Lyekka. Something to ponder, but I’m not sticking with the idea because I’m not certain.

For future reference, folks, please don’t bit-by-bit pick apart someone’s opinion. If the subject is debateable, then fine. But I was just giving my own review of the episode. No need to reply in hostility, sgtdraino. You sort of ticked me off, but I won’t hold that against you. You’re a good guy!

Hey FG, I see you’re back in good form!
Nice panty shot, now how about the shower scene….

Great episode, and I guess I don’t understand how filler is defined if this is filler. The episode needed to get the crew back to Earth to fight Lyekka and it needed to put Kai’s existence into crisis. It did both in a typically oddball Lexx way. And it had the warped tease of giving the fans live Kai, and then not only taking him away again but reminding us even his un-live time is limited.

I’m reluctantly going to confess that the ending was unexpectedly wrenching after laughing my way through the rest of the episode. I guess I’ve been intellectually prepared for the finale, but maybe I’m not emotionally prepared for it. Very disconcerting since one thing Lexx has NOT done is your usual blatant Hollywood emotional manipulation.

I think I’d better go to the Pub and belly up to the bar to drown my sorrows.

Hey, I wasn’t being hostile! At least I don’t think I was. Was I? If so, I’m sorry. I just enjoy a good debate. I wasn’t trying to pick apart your opinion, I was just illustrating my own opinion. I like to use lots of quotes so people will know I’m not taking their words out of context. And you will note that I am ALWAYS polite and civil.

    quote

If Trip was just filler, then so was Brigadoom. Brigadoom provided motivation for the crew of the Lexx to fight Mantrid. Trip provided motivation for the crew of the Lexx to fight Lyekka

Granted, the episode gives the crew a reason to go back. But for me, it didn’t mesh well with the plot. Brigadoom’s plot elements were all well integrated. To me, the Lyekka elements of “Trip” felt like they were tacked on. I felt like the Beans were thinking, “I know, let’s do a funny hallucination episode! Oh, and we need to tack on some reason why the crew has to go back to Earth.”

    quote

Lyekka attempted to poison Stan and Xev. Remember that part? It was the part where they ate those berries and succumbed to homicidal paranoia.

Yeah, but why try to kill them in such a complicated and uncertain way? It’s like the outrageous plots to kill Adam West’s Batman in the classic series. Lyekka could have just given them a couple of berries that would have a delayed-reaction fatal effect. Say, 48 hours, and they both suddenly drop dead. Why risk them not offing each other? And what are the odds that they would actually succeed in killing each other simultaneously?

Answer: The Beans just wanted to do a fun hallucination episode. As usual, they care more about setting up certain situations. They don’t really care much about how they get there, or out they get out to the next situation. It’s all about the situation.

    quote

Nope, sorry. I wasn’t disappointed. I like undead Kai the way he is.

Truthfully, I do to. You can do a lot more with him in a story, while he’s dead. But there is still that urge to see him alive. Really alive, and not just someone’s hallucinated idea of what he’d be like.

    quote

Simple answer: Kai is doomed. He will DIE. Will Prince keep his promise and allow him to live? That doesn’t have you in suspense?

It might, if the Beans were doing something to build up that suspense. But there doesn’t seem to really be anything to hint at anything, except that Prince said he would, and there’s only two episodes left. Other than that, things seem basically status quo to me.

    quote

In season 2, the crew of the Lexx had no choice but to deal with Mantrid in one way or another. They chose the heroic path. Here in season 4, they don’t have to go back and save the stupid little blue planet. They chose to return to Earth and face peril. That takes real courage.

Interesting point. Actually, they don’t really seem to be worried at all about facing Lyekka. They seem to agonize more over the prospect of killing her, than they do worrying about any danger to themselves. That actually seems a bit out of character to me. Shouldn’t Stan be whining about it being too dangerous to take Lyekka on?

    quote

But I’ll be sure to make a version of my Xev videogame character without any underwear! (heh, heh, heh…)

Cool picture! I think that is actually technically part of her dress, though. She really did say she doesn’t wear underwear. Or socks. It was in Dutch Treat, I think.

    quote

You don’t know that for certain. The food dispensor squirting blood is out of the ordinary. Prince teleporting about, screwing with people’s minds is not anything new.

‘Course I don’t know it for certain. But in my opinion, it was simply part of their hallucinations.

    quote

The point I was trying to make is that the viewer gets to see Kai live and breathe, even if it’s just a dream.

Yeah, but for those of us who wonder what Kai was like when he was alive, this episode really offers nothing. All we see is what Stan and Xev imagine him to be like.

    quote

Speak for yourself. It could be part of the reason why the Vlad subplot existed in the first place.

I hope it is! But I bet it isn’t. There’s too little time left. I wish they would, but I bet they won’t touch on it.

    quote

But who was the “medicine man” that guided our heros? I think that might be Prince.

Prince is utterly and completely bad. He would never help them, and he’s not on Earth anymore, so he doesn’t care what happens to it.

    quote

Why did Prince tell both of them to go to the cryochamber? Kai was there to save them.

Eh, he didn’t tell them. (at least not on the SFC airing I saw). They ran off the Bridge chasing each other, the show went to commercial, and when it came back on, they were running into the Cryochamber. As far as I can tell, no one directed them to go there. They just happened to run that way, and knock over the cryopod control.

    Elmey wrote:

Just watched it again, Elmey, and you’re right. Kai’s singing was hallucinated.

Here’s an oddity though: The weapons that Stan and Xev hallucinate apparently became real, since Kai wrestles one out of Xev’s hands when he saves them. Now how is THAT possible!!??

Simple. Not *everything* that they saw was in their heads. 790 egging them on wasn’t part of their hallucinations — he was actively trying to push them over the edge, so to speak. Where they *came* from, or why they were there is another question, but like with any drug trip, part of what you’re seeing is “objective”, part “subjective.”

Also, I think Prince was in their heads as well. If not, then, he would have been consulting with 790 (and the beans would have shown it, as they haven’t shied away from it before). I think that Prince was simply a manifestation of their own paranoid delusions, acting as the “voice inside your head” as it were. Although neither Stan nor Xev had seen him in his powder blue outfit (I don’t think, anyway…he’s wearing the black outfit in “The Beach,” right?). At any rate, it could be that his appearance in his “spiritual” garb (he seems to only wear it while dead) is kind of a representation of what a Christian might regard as the “hand of the devil,” steering people in the wrong direction, though he’s not physically present.

    Or not.

Well personally I feel they were pretty clear on the fact it was all a Trip. Prince was never really tangible in any way…..but one thing he said really irks me. I believe he wants to take over the Universe that Kai and him played their game in. He said something to the effect:

Xev asks him “Are you alive?”

He replies “Not as I was, hopefully not as I will be, but I am making progress”

Sounds to me like he might just be trying to become a “God” or whatever to Kais interim Universe.

Other than that I really dont think he’s there. Maybe he was and maybe he used the excuse of their drugging to follow through with his promise in his own way. Most likely not, that would be pretty lame, but the line was interesting…

Other thing that occurred to me re-watching it was that they never really prove Lyekka did anything wrong. Of all the places to put a plant in a 7-mile long Insect the top of the cryo control would seem least likely. And even if you did put a magically growing plant there where’d you think the roots were gonna go?

The berries could’ve been the gift they werent meant to recieve, Lyekka-cousin just did not anticipate how it would react to a human.

Flimsy arguements, but even so there was never any real malice as far as I could so. Lyekka-cousin (I hate calling her Lyekka, she *isnt* Lyekka, Lyekka loved Stan) could’ve outright killed them all previously and didnt. And next week she attacks Japan as per their agreement. If anything it seems the Lexx crew is the one to renege on their pact.

    edit:

Forgot to mention the Planets Lyekka ate! Certainly the most damning evidence, but even so sheesh they’ve(Lexx crew) collectivly killed off 100s of planets, a Universe even! And Lyekka was doing it for survival at least

In the end you gotta thank Jeff H. for giving us all the scenes we wanted at some point in Lexx:

    1) Kai alive
    2) Kai tells the crew he shares kinship with them in a very special moment
    3) Xev and Kai sex
    4) Stan and Kai sex hahahaha funniest scene
    5) Stan and Xev on drugs
    6) Stan and Xev deathmatch on the bridge
    7) Xev telling Stan “Kiss me” and meaning it
    8) Medley of tunes from the Series
    9) Lexx and Stan have a “private” moment. Okay so they did in “Love Grows” too but Lexx was funnier this time.
    10) Vlad and Kai dance and Kai dips Vlad

Only in Jeffs eps can the whackiest stuff happen..

I did like this ep; not as much as Prime Ridge or the Game, but I think LL is right in the fact it was there to appease the fans give them what they want in summary but in a truly Beanie way.

Can we retire that Brigadoom costume now including the underwear; it almost made me lose my buzz. Don’t get me wrong, Brigadoom was okay; but I felt a seizure coming on seeing that bright costume again.

I loved the fact of all of them lying around on the bed laughing at stuff. Isn’t that what you do with your friends when… oh, never mind.

Shower scenes; standard, nothing exciting; I guess I personally think that if you’ve seen
Xev/Kai take their clothes off once you’ve seen it a thousand times. I feel like they are an old married couple and the thrill is gone baby. I think they should have shaved MM’s chest hair into a heart like MM in Austin Powers; Or get that “Lee Press on chest hair” like he had.

It does doesn’t it! My lord, it is like watching Kai channeling Rainbow Brite, I mean he already has the hairdo.

Okay people, as a board moderator, I absolutely *forbid* tearing Mandara limb from limb. I understand where you are coming from mind you. But it makes such a mess on the board and the server. And I flatly refuse to fill out anymore police reports on account of you guys!!

theFrey sighs and places her hand on Mandara shoulder, “…. Sweetie pumpkin, don’t dis the shower scene, the kai’ers and the Xev’ers, …well they had to get their fix, and I’m sure we don’t begrudge them it.” She looks around furtively, “Besides, their numbers are legion, and we *don’t * want to give them a target for their discontent that the scene wasn’t longer, or that the shower opening was pinned closed in a bad place.”

Pfft…. I don’t really care about what they want to say; but you are right, let them have what they want; demand and supply; the interelationship of fans and writers. Okay, okay I am sorry; to each his/her own. And those scenes; I’m thinking The Shining or Psycho in some of them. Here’s Johnny.
Here she comes to save my day. Thank you Mighty Frey for saving me from a lynching mob. I’ll be good I promise
On that note I’ve got to go roll… I mean do some work.

I enjoyed this ep a lot! It felt like a Season Two Lexx!

In my opinion, the fact that the cryopod controls were destroyed is the motivation for them to return to Earth. Xev will want to find some way to repair the controls, or replace the cryopods, so that Kai can be frozen, I think. I don’t think destroying Lyekka and saving the Earth would be their first priority, since it’s a Type 13 planet doomed to destruction anyway (and they’ve never been very good about saving people before). Of course, we all know where they’re headed, but it’s a plot point to think about anyway.

La Pant!!! La Heave!!! La Pant!! La Heave!! O.K., calming down now, thanks Flamegrape for the shower scene pix….My favorite part was when Living Kai gave Xev a wink before telling her he would be back and ready!!! I loved this ep and keep re-running the Xev-Kai shower scene and bed scene over and over….loved the big headed Stan, too….and I kept cracking up everytime Stan and Xev did in the beginning when Kai said he had never seen them like that before….I think Jeff Hirshfield is the best!!

I can’t believe only two episodes left, it is so depressing, I don’t want to think about it…..

I fell asleep halfway through this one not because it was boring but because the only one I got to see was the one on Sunday.
With that qualified, let the half-assed analysis begin!
In some way I saw it as a retrospective, a summing up of the conflicts and tension of the entire series. It also occured to me that this could have been an ending in the first draft, which they rejected but liked enough to keep around in some form. Would have been funny, though.
The question I have is:WTF? Someone had to be controlling the hallucinations for Xev and Stan to be seeing the same things. Maybe that’s an overactive imagination on my part since the plot did have to have some kind of conflict, but it’s possible.

The power of suggestion. If one person says they saw/heard/smell/etc something, someone else may agree, evenif they didn’t see/hear/smell/etc it; but they stil think they did. Tis is even more prevelant with teh use od psychoactive drugs.

I really don’t think that’s the case. It woundn’t make much sense for them to spend that extra money and go to that extra trouble for a scene that is not really R-rated.

I recall the sex scene Patricia Tallman did for Babylon 5. Although only shot from behind, she really did get topless for the cast and crew.

It’s not that big of a deal for actors. Backstage in a theater, you commonly have half-dressed people scrambling to put on their costumes for the next scene. But it’s a big deal if they do R-rated skin shots for the public.

Trip was terrific! Brian and Xenia gave amazing portrayals of mad crazies. 790 was hilarious and it was good to see Prince again, if that was Prince…Vlad was back briefly and didn’t aliveKai seem evil to anyone? I know, he was a hullucination of their fears, but still… and where did they get those axes? If they imagined everything they saw then why were those axes real, unless Prince did give them to them…I don’t know. Trip was better than Viva Lexx Vegas and I still like Lyekka, or at least the former ones. Two more to go people. The tension is building…..and Stan finally booted 790!

And I’ve noticed that all through my life, whether you know it or not, you collect stuff, remember things. Hard things like the eyes of people who hurt you, the chill in the wake of evil: smooth things like the color in your mind when a good dream comes true or a brown-sugar boy who hands you a piece of the sun; and kind things like the smiles, and the hands and the memories of the oneswho love you most. You let go and hold on. And sometimes it’s like you’re not even sure which you’ve done.
Even if you have a Knowing, an extra sense of reading the future, it’s these scraps of yesterday that coat and cover everything of today and wind up shaping your tomorrow. It’s these slices of life that always end up being the things you Know best.”

I enjoyed this ep even though I knew none of it was real. I thought Brian made an excellent maniac. Xev was just more true to her lizard self. By the way on the bridge in the battle shot as Xev and Stan are about to clobber each other, if you run the tape at very slow speed, Xev’s face briefly transforms into her monster self at least twice. Really some neat special effects! Kai is always interesting when he is being alive.

I was watching Fire and Water last night, and guess what I saw? The harpoon that Prince’s gondola used to attach itself to the lexx, was the spear that Xev used to go after Stan.

Maybe that’s where Stan got the knife! That’s where the knife came from! We didn’t ever see Prince’s men take back their knives after throwing them into the Lexx, did we?
