3rd August 2002 at 7:00 am #63713AnonymousGuestSooooo many shows, such limited space….
I’m not even counting daytime TV, since that’s dreck by definition.
So off the top of my head for starters:
Touched by an Angel as I mentioned before
Reason: smarmy, manipulative exploitation of people’s stupidity. And since this is a scifi forum, I have one from the Scifi Channel US: John Edwards
For those of you who don’t know, it’s a talk show of sorts where he claims to be getting messages from dead people who happen to be related to the studio audience. Sort of like this:
JE: “I’m getting a picture here…it looks like…it could be the letter A….”
Mr. Audience: Well, it could be Uncle Maurice, he did get killed by a malfunctioning Airbag when he forgot to put the car in reverse backing out of the garage….
JE: Airbag, yes, that’s what I see, that’s the letter A. Well Mr. Audience, Uncle Maurice wants you to know that he’s fine and that he wants you to be happy
Mr. Audience: sob, sob, Oh that sounds just like him.
Reason for dislike: smarmy, manipulative exploitation of people’s stupidity. And last, something I wouldn’t normally do, but I’m adding a show to the list that I haven’t actually seen yet. And if I lead a good life, I may never have to see it. Here’s a description:
The mind boggles.
