for fans of Whedonverse, especially shippers.
Has anybody else noticed Joss Whedon’s knack for investigating Unrequited Love/Sexual Relationships That Are Bad For You, i.e., Buffy/Spike, Wesley/Lilah, and even Buffy/Angel? OK, OK, Buffy/Angel wasn’t exactly unrequited, but it was a disaster.
My point is, who do you think will be the UL/SRTABFY type relationship in Firefly? Mal/Inara? Mal/Zoe? Simon/Inara? Jayne/anybody?

I hadn’t come to think of it. I’ve heard somewhere that he didn’t get on too well with his dad so in most of his shows the father relationship is protty poor.
It maybe one of the reasons why Buffy and Angel were slated as being very anti-family recently.
Personally I think it makes his shows more gritty.

I like gritty. I like to see what complications the writers will throw at the characters. Shows where everybody is all lovy-dovy and sweet are dull, IMO.
