I do not understand my reaction to this badly acted, badly written show except for the instant hormonal reaction to Tyr. OK, what is the general consensus on that hunk? A Mr. Spcok with muscles? Rambo and Terminator with dreds? Shakespear’s avatar? And what about his “bonking” that blond chick. (Finally a mature–translate sexual–scene in the show!!)Shouldn’t there be a follow up, little kiddies running around (with or without dreds)or a really ticked off Freya for losing her chance to have baby Tyrs. Whatever?
I think since he has spent most of his life as a mercenary, Hunt shoud ask his advice a little more often when they are in conflict, after all how many times can Hunt do the “I feel your pain” approach to species trying to blow him to Hell.

I guess he’s supposed to be the weapons specialist in the crew. He’s an interesting character I think, because he is a Nietzschean working (or hanging out) on a Commonwealth Ship. He therefore adds a different perception and acts as a ballance for Dylan Hunt.

I can understand sceptisism about the series so far, but I remember thinkinbg the same thing about Babylon 5. Andromeda will never be as much of a shock to the system as say LEXX, but I think it will eventually give Babylon 5 a run for it’s money.

I enjoy Andromeda. However, if I miss it I don’t get bent out of shape. Lexx on the other hand compels me.
Andromeda is just a little too Trekish. I LIKE Kevin Sorbo, but his character is not very complex. Tyr is interesting eye candy, yet less dimensional than Hunt. The effects are great and every now and then they have a seriously engrossing ep. This episode where Tyr runs off to the rebels was one of the more interesting shows. Overall the show is pretty shallow. Heavy drama -no, but I’d like to see more complex characters and a harder edge.

Hopefully as the series goes on the character will become a little more 3-dimensional and not just a cut-price Klingon. Mind you, if it hasn’t happened after 13 episodes…

I think I missed the bonking thing.

Okay well the binking thing happened in eposide 4 I think. It was called double helix and it was a great eposide. Tyr is a great character. I like him because he has such a negative attitude to Hunt’s stupid choices.

My view is that Tyr should blow Hunt up or chop him into itty bitty pieces. Then there can be more sparkly explosion on the show! BUT HE CAN’T HURT THE OH SO CUTE HARPER OR I WILL REACH DOWN HIS THROAT AND PULL OUT ALL HIS INTERNAL ORGAINS THEN FEED THEM TO HIM!!!!!

Remember violence is always the answer!

    I think Tyr is a

    BABE!! WOOF! WOOF!

**shakes self** Of course, that’s just my visceral reaction.**pant!pant!** As a character, he and Trance are the only ones that have a little unpredictability and edge to them. Harper, too!(don’t hurt me, Harper’s Girl! ) But, alas, the show is still way too Trekkish and milksoppy. Sometimes, when Hunt’s giving his for-the-good-of-the-Federa…eh, CommonWealth speeches, I’m rolling my eyes right along with the crew. But, hey, someone in the galaxy’s got to be optimistic. I think one of my favorite Tyr-Hunt moments was when Hunt bopped him on the bean during their basketball game and Tyr said, “I thought you said that was cheating?” It was the first (and last) time Hunt did something that surprised me.

As for the ‘bonking’ scene, two things:
    1. I think it was good to leave it hangin’ like that. It leaves room for speculation, thought and/or a follow-up meeting.
    2. WOOF!

“Oh! You think what? You think Claudius murdered your Dad? Well, no wonder you’ve been so rude to him at the dinner table! If I’d known that, I could have put you straight in no time flat.

    It wasn’t Claudius, darling.

    It was me.
