I think it’s about time Mr Donovan gave Lexx a chance at the big time.
Lexx is very deserving of being made into a blockbuster movie, all the ingredients are there and surely it is big enough when you consider Stargate SG1 is making that move.
It could be the new star wars, the CGI is there and the characters and actors have matured, the writing has always been impressive…it’s got to happen sooner or later.
Leaving Lexx to the confines of T.V and T.V films seems really wasteful, the only snag that I could see is bringing Lexx’s expressive storytelling to the masses without confusing some people.
I really hope Lexx doesn’t leave us without having a shot at the big time.
Long live the big bug.

Paul seemed interested in doing LEXX features but it’s really not up to him. It’s up to the ratings I guess and if a major studio believed strongly enough in it to back them for it.
I don’t see it happening just because of the near-sighted-ness of Hollywood. LEXX is too rule breaking and Hollywood prefers to bet their money on sure fire hits. Even though Bat-man and Robin was crap it still had enough recognition to get people in it to see it at least for the opening weekend. With SciFi’s mishandling of LEXX.. I’m surprised anyone even knows about it. That’s why Aleck is a bit of a celebrity to some of us. Cause he worX for a company that has brought us uncut digital LEXX-goodness. God bless you and those wonderful people at Acorn, Aleck

Apparently Channel 5 played a part in it’s original production, so I think to pull something off,Paul would need to sell it to various studios, so that many production studios are involved.
That way Paul would have some weight behind him, and then get the big boys to distrubute it without incurring any risks on their part.
There are ways around it, even if it was classed as an indie film like Blair Witch would be worthwhile…at least it makes it to the big screen.——————

[15:29:53] <bio-vizier> Anyone- will there ever be a lexx film in the cinemas???
[15:31:49] <Righty> bio-vizier – Paul sez “That would be nice”
[15:32:14] <alick> tell paul i more than agree, i watched star wars, and the opening sequence
[15:32:19] <alick> made me want a lexx film
[15:40:40] <Righty> bio-vizier – Paul sez “We hope so”Righty (Lex) is typing for Paul, Michael and himself.
And with relation to the Series 5 question:
[15:26:12] <Briseis> How many seasons of Lexx can we expect before it comes to a complete end?
[15:30:35] <Righty> Briseis – Paul sez “One more maximum, before I come to a complete end”Although there have been comments leaning the other way also since then so you never know.. for instance this from Mamabear of Salter at the time of the set demolision scare:
As you know, we are about to start shooting a cycle of 24 episodes. In a normal TV season, there are 13, so that’s almost two seasons’ worth. We won’t have this cycle finished until spring 2002 — an impossibly distant future. Whether there will be more Lexx after that depends on many factors, including ratings, network support, finances, international sales, cast and crew availability, the lay of the chicken guts, and other misty augers… In other words, we’ll see! We’d certainly like to keep going — more seasons, maybe a spinoff or two, maybe even make a movie one day…But rest assured the tearing down of the bridge set has nothing at all to do with anything other than we need a new set to suit the growing bug (and various secret plot twists).
If fan support were the only decisive factor, we’d be making Lexx into the next millennium. And we’re all incredibly gratified by it. We’re heading into weird new territory for season 4, and we hope you’ll dig it.
