Hi all,
I’m really sorry, but I’m drunk for the second night running while tying to write the XEVIVOR episode review. It’s such a good episode (and so wonderful to see Jeff hirscfield back as a writer don’t you think?!).
I’ve written two pages just of the opening sequence and guzzling too much red wine too quickly to get the job done! (I can’t write sadgeezer reviews while sober).
But the way , this is the first episode that is reviewed from a tape that is un-cut! the wondeful and superb sweetie [b]thefrey[/b], has been sending me tapes (coz she’s so cool) of the first few episodes, but Salter Street have finally sent me uncut versions so I’m doing reviews of those now [i](shower scenes will be re-scanned and pics posted this weekend)[/i].

[b]exclusive![/b] For all you Xev fans out there, episode 4.07 (This Fridays episode) has a bath scene with a shot of Xev’s nipple! (sorry for being so sexist, but the scans from this scene (which will probably be cut for the US show on Sci Fi Channel) will be posted on Sunday night(maybe a little earlier if I don’t get too drunk)).
Meanwhile, the chief writer for the Andromeda series (Zack Stenz) has been getting on at me to review the latest Andromeda episodes so I’m a bit behind with everything.

Can’t wait to see your reviews for Xevivor, as us poor brits have to live on breadcrumbs at the moment regarding Lexx, and ‘erm’ the nip slip from Xev (I know, but I am a red hot inferno of desire!!!).
Can you give the Chief writer of Andromeda a bit of advice?, tell him to resign because Andromeda is by far the worst Sci-Fi programme I have seen, I’m not being unfair, I watched the entire first season and that was bad enough, now I’ve watched the first two eps of S2, and I can’t believe it, but it’s got worse.
That programme will sink without trace fairly soon if thing’s don’t change, which is a shame because I think Kevin Sorbo is an excellent actor and Lexa is the prettiest sci-fi babe since Jeri (7 of 9), and I can’t believe Gene Roddenberry could have come up with something so poor.

They started Season2 already in Britain??? Doh here in America we got a few more weeks to wait. To be honest Im disapointed too. The show promised a strict arc and turned out only to have a few main plot episodes. Then the magog with their mysterious master come out of the blue in the last episode. *sigh* I did like many of the episodes, but the character Becca/Becka Valentine just needs to go. She was in the pilot for EFC and was terrible in that as well. She just isnt convincing enough in her role. Lexxlurker, if I had my way I would gladly swap Lexx S4 for Andromeda S2, but I think you guy’s in America wouldn’t be too happy with me!!!
I agree with you on that women who play’s Becca, I think her character is poor and as actresses go she is not a pretty one, acting wise or in the look’s department (thank god for Lexa!!!)…but she’s definitely got to go.
But the new season is really that poor, the first ep doing a poor rip-off of the borg, then having the people watching to be expected to feel sorrow for this drone that finds humanity and then dies within 20 minutes, was really bad writing.
The 2nd ep caused me to turn over to a boring football match (and god it was boring) within 15 minutes of it’s start.
It really has got worse, the writers for that show are the most appalling writers ever, the whole thing did look promising to begin with, but the writers have destroyed a fairly good idea, and managed to embaress poor old Kevin Sorbo and Lexa Doig in the process.
Anyway, as far as I can see there are no changes to the original cast, which like you say is a shame, as not only does that Becca need to go, but the magog with a vagina for a nose needs to go as well!!!
We are probably going to get told off now for posting Andromeda news on the Lexx forum, but for me I’m glad I wrote it, because anyone who was thinking of watching Andromeda should be warned.

As I live in the UK and so does Saddy, I have the upper hand and will get those tapes before you…HA,HA,HA, ner,ner,ner…ner!!!
I am planning a raiding party as we speak, and every detail is accounted for, it will be done with military precision by the top people in the UK, no stone will be left unturned in our meticulous planning and execution of this mission……BTW, does anybody know where he lives!?!

Actually, they are just showing the last 6 or 7 episodes of the first season that they never showed the first time around.

Gawd, I actually thought it was season two. as the break between these eps and the last was several month’s.
Well maybe there is hope, once they have finished showing this load of rubbish, the writers can reflect on how crap it’s been and make the new season better.
Actually, I hope they don’t make a new season, because the first was so goddamn awful they shouldn’t be allowed to make a second series.
If there is only 6 or 7 eps left, then hopefully I can look forward to some decent Sci-fi fayre on a monday.
I don’t know why Sky seemed to have dropped EFC, now that was well written and like Lexx had a good idea of where it was going.

FX, et.al., didja happen to notice in “K-Town” (if that’s the codpiece epi) when Kai’s just whacked Mantrid, who is crouched on top of him (why oh why don’t I have a job like that???) – as Mantrid is falling back: his robe catches on the codpiece, Mikey makes a grab for it and just manages to keep the *equipment* covered. Ok, this makes…what the 4th or 5th episode this season with a Xev shower scene.?

On a somewhat different note. At what time in our future are we (as a collective race) going to decide on a common ‘outfit’ that everyone will wear. Or when will we as individuals decide on one particular set of clothes and make that the only pair of clothes we will ever wear again?
I understand the need for a ‘uniform’ for military/service orientated people. But even civilian (humanoid) types, whenever depecited, all seem to wear the same type of clothing.
Do clothes (and people) not need washing in the future?

I thought I might have remembered reading somewhere that they were signed up for like 4 or 5 seasons. {{shrug}}Second season starts 1 Oct here in the US.
I think that even the worst sci-fi show is infinitely better than the best of whatever else is on the cathode-ray god.

And I would agree with that, I’m still going to give Andromeda a chance (mainly because of the delicious Lexa Doig!!!), but I haven’t seen anything yet to make me think that it will improve.
I do love EFC though, that has the best written stories in the Sci-Fi universe, even on par with Lexx, but Lexx tends to be slightly more exciting.
Gene Roddenberry would have been proud of EFC, not so of Andromeda, and I don’t know if he would agree with Rick Berman’s interpretation of the Star Trek universe.

Interesting lil fact: Paramount offered Gene two choices in 78-79.
1) Make Star Trek the Motion Picture

Wow, I never knew about the two choices Gene Roddenberry was given, that’s fascinating,if he had chosen EFC, then it’s likely the movies would never have got made and TNG, DS9 and Voyager may never have come about.
Thank god he chose the movie, because you’re quite right, EFC just would not have worked in the 80’s.
The technology that exists for EFC’s effects did not exist back then, and EFC is better for today’s FX.
I hope Von Flores appears in other things, he was excellent as the evil and double dealing Ronald Sandoval.

Liam, Zo’or, Da’an are all gone.
Zo’or will be back for a special 2 parter with Kevin Kilner(Boone)
Producers are being accussed by most fans as wanting to milk the last season soley for money since they are turning Jayne Heitmeiers character into a Lara Croft type resistance fighter.
The main characters in this season are the Atavii(Atavus singular). In Season2 and again in Season 4 it was explained that the Taelons had de-evolved severely in their time since changing from Kimera+mystery race to Atavus to Taelon. So the Atavii are extremely advanced and not like the Atavus that were in Season1 and 3 that were just Taelons disconnected from the Commonality.
So basically this season is the 2 Atavii trying to destroy the world. Apparantly fans have been petitioning Tribune Entertainment to hand the series over to Sci Fi channel before they screw it up. Personally I dont have an opinion Ive liked the series up until last seasons finale. So we’ll see how it goes this season.

Forgot to explain that the Taelons and Jaridians were not all transformed, just those in the room during the finale where Liam dies.
Its presumed the Jaridians are extinct tho since they only had a few hours of life left when the finale ended.
The Taelons are confirmed by the producers to be back this season as well. But Zo’or was “changed into something else” and Da’an made into an Atavus.

Thanx for the info Lexxlurker, I’m glad that EFC will be around for another season, and as long as they have the same writers, I can’t see the show going bad.
I thought it was the last season with Liam dying, but I do like the idea of Jayne H being a Lara Croft type character,but Da’an and Zo’or gone is a bit of a shame.
Maybe those writers could move to Andromeda after EFC is finished to help with it’s dire scripts!!!
It’s moved to the Sci-Fi channel over here, so maybe the Sci-Fi channel will take an interest and continue with it.
BTW, is Sandoval still gonna be around?

Annoyed SquishySandoval will be back, the writers and producers are *very* tightlipped about his character this season. He most likely will represent the remaining Taelons, though that doesent make sense to me. The only reason he was still there was because Humanity tried him and Da’an saved him. Also and this sucks. He never found out from Liam that he was Liams father. Im sure they will wrap that up this season.
After what they did to Sandoval this season (Brought his wife back to betray him, Humanity tried him for his crimes, Jaridians turned him into a “Terminator-like” machine,) and the list goes on and on. Id like to see him somehow redeem himself by saving Earth in his own death or something.

These are my feelings as well, I thought when Boone went, that was that, then Liam comes along to save the day, although they should have used his powers more often.
Funny thing with EFC was that every ep seemed like a season finale, it was so dramatic in it’s endings, it left you convinced that each of the last few eps were the last in the season…it was that bloody good!!!
