Tripping the Rift: Cultures: Harmonia 7
Since science fiction worlds are never diverse and only single mindedly represent one view point, then magnify it a thousand fold, this world can only have one trait: and that is to be the trigger happy, gun slingin’ planet. Since science fiction worlds are never diverse and only single mindedly represent one view point, then magnify it a thousand fold, this world can only have one trait: and that is to be the trigger happy, gun slingin’ planet.
The people of this planet are so paranoid and aggressive that the Dark Clowns won’t venture there and the Confederacy asked them not to be part of their alliance. Harmonia used to be a quiet and peaceful colony of the Confederacy. But it only took one man to change all that. Smith N Wesson rose to power by creating gangs that terrorized the colony. Wesson used the political system to his advantage to create a gun culture so paranoia and aggressove, that no sensible gun laws or resistance to his power could come to pass. Wesson maintained control of the planet using his elite shock troops, the Harmonium.
Eventually the gun culture surpassed Wesson’s his ability to control, and became the dominant lifestyle on the world. The strict homeland security regulations, kept offworlders from seeing too much of the planet, and then report back how violent it is. It even fooled the Taget’s Guide to the Galaxy into believing it to be the safest planet in the universe. While many of the citizens loved guns and violence, there were some rebels. The peaceniks, led by Aidan Wesson started a campaign of terror, destroying icons of violence throughout the planet. Eventually Aidan assassinated his father and took control of the world, introducing many peacenik reforms to the planet.
