Just a quick update on the progress of the first of the new “Prisoner” novels…

    * J. Michael Straczynski (multiple Hugo winner, creator of “Babylon 5”, Spider-Man writer, childhood hero of mine thanks to “The Real Ghostbusters”, and huge Prisoner fan) is doing the introduction to “The Prisoner’s Dilemma”!

    * The prologue to “Prisoner’s Dilemma” (the first novel, written by me and Rupert Booth) has just been posted at http://www.powysmedia.com . Looking forward to your comments!

The book is now scheduled for a late-summer release, in both the US and UK; Powys will be announcing the date as soon as they’re certain there won’t be any last-minute slippages. Expect it to be available for pre-order in a few weeks’ time!

    Cheers,
    Jon Blum

Great news, Jon, you should put that in the “Submit News” module so it will be on the front page of the site for the next few weeks instead of buried in the Prisoner forum where the B5 lurkers might miss it….

EYE AM KNOT A NUMBER AYE AMA FREE MAN SCRIBBLE CRICKET!!

There. That’s how big a geek I am, but that’s the only non-arguable Pris reference I found on B5. Everything else looks coincidental to me. (Well, except for the Psi-Corps salute.) Too bad he never got the Paddy on the show. Sigh.

Anyhoo, the opener already has a better hook, IMHO, than Disch, congrats!

Hey, and congratulations on winning the Auzzie equivalent of the Nebula Award!! 🙂

Congratulations to Jonathan Blum, co-author of the first Powys Prisoner novel, and his wife Kate Orman for winning the Aurealis Award for Best Australian SF Novel for 2003 for their Doctor Who book Fallen Gods!
