    Backward Glance
    by Curve

With a backwards glance I said goodbye
Saw the regret in your eyes
It’s too late now to change the truth
While were living under the same roof
    Its a ruse of yours
    To alter perception
    Manipulate a violent situation
    For your own gain
With my tits in the air
    I’m strong and proud
You’ll see me laughing out loud
    On a crowded street
    In the summer heat
    We’ll all be there
    So come and share
    Its a ruse of yours
    To alter perception
    Manipulate a violent situation
    To your own gain
    And your own needs
    And your own fear
    And your own tears
    Seek and destroy
    Smile and obey
    Its a ruse of yours
    To spoil perfection
    Manipulate a violent situation
    For your own gain
    And your own needs
    And your own fear
    And your own tears
    Seek and destroy
    Smile and obey.

There are places I’ll remember all my life
    Though some have changed
    Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain

All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I’ve loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these mem’ries lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new

Though I know I’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them
In my life I’ll love you more

Though I know I’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them
In my life I’ll love you more
In my life I’ll love you more.

You must remember this, a kiss is still a kiss,
A sigh is just a sigh, the fundamental things apply,
    As time goes by . . .

An’ when two lovers woo, they still say “I love you,”
On that you can rely, no matter what the future brings,
    As time goes by . . .

Moonlight an’ love songs never out of date,
Hearts full of passion, jealousy an’ hate,
Woman needs man and man must have his mate,
That no one can deny . . .

It’s still the same old story, a fight for love an’ glory,
A case of do or die, the world will always welcome lovers,
    As time goes by . . .

    < instrumental verse three >

It’s still the same old story, a fight for love an’ glory,
A case of do or die, the world will always welcome lovers,
    As time goes by . . .

    Play it again sam…

I really dig Casablanca…. Bogie, …..Peter Lorre; I’ve always liked him. He was great in the Raven with hell who was that ooh Vincent Price and who was it …… Boris Karloff I think.

There’s an actor that is little appreciated outside a genre… Boris Karloff. You know I saw a documentary on him and since then I have the utmost respect for him.

I can show you the world
    Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?

    I can open your eyes
    Take you wonder by wonder
    Over, sideways and under
    On a magic carpet ride

    A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
    Or where to go
    Or say we’re only dreaming

    A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I’m way up here
    It’s crystal clear
That now I’m in a whole new world with you
Now I’m in a whole new world with you

    Unbelievable sights
    Indescribable feeling
    Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
    Through an endless diamond sky

    A whole new world
Don’t you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see
Hold your breath – it gets better
    I’m like a shooting star
    I’ve come so far
I can’t go back to where I used to be

    A whole new world
    Every turn a surprise
    With new horizons to pursue
    Every moment red-letter
    I’ll chase them anywhere
    There’s time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you

    A whole new world
    That’s where we’ll be
    A thrilling chase
    A wondrous place
    For you and mep

Have to wait til october next yr for it to arrive on DVD though. Typical disney

Really should get off the topic of film music

May be i just wouldn’t know
what to do with my strength anyway

    Have we become a habit?
    Do we distort the facts?
    Now there’s no looking forward
    Now there’s no turning back.

Kiss Kai rocks! But as for my feelings on Kiss itself, I think Rock And Roll Hell pretty much sums it up:

Rock And Roll Hell by Kiss

Get me out of this rock and roll hell, take me far away
Get me out of this rock and roll hell
Get me out of this rock and roll hell, I need to get away
Get me out of this rock and roll hell
    blah, blah, blah etc. etc.

There’s magic in these threads again folks! The downside is the bombing in Casablanca; the upside is the fact the TCM(Turner Classic Movies) aired both The Mummy and The Raven with Boris Karloff last night. I was sooo excited…. ๐Ÿ˜€ It wasn’t “The Raven” I prefer but it was do-able.

Whad’ I tell ya; more freakin’ damn pyramids! Did you ever see a lot of something over and over and until something happens it doesn’t go away; and then an event occurs and then
it goes away. I do wish whatever is happening with pyramids would hurry up so I can concentrate on something else ๐Ÿ˜ฅ : ๐Ÿ˜ก

    Do-able, but was it singable?

    Alan Parsons Project: The Raven

    The clock struck midnight
    And through my sleeping
I heard a tapping at my door
I looked but nothing lay in the darkness
And so I turned inside once more

    To my amazement
    There stood a raven
Whose shadow hung above my door
    Then through the silence
    It spoke the one word
That I shall hear for evermore

    Nevermore
    Thus quoth the raven, nevermore

And still the raven remains in my room
No matter how much I implore
    No words can soothe him
    No prayer remove him
And I must hear for evermore

    Quoth the raven, nevermore
    Thus quoth the raven, nevermore.

The Raven is off one of my fave concept albums, Tales of Mystery and Imagination — it helps that I love Poe (but not Po! The Teletubbies are evil, IMHO).

    Another cheesy song:

CHOAST (Cheese and Toast Make Choast)
Lyrics and music by Brent Boehler

    Choast, Choast, beautiful Choast,
I like it a lot and I eat it the most.
    Choast, Choast, beautiful Choast,
    Cheese and toast makes Choast.
    Cheese and toast makes Choast.

To make some Choast here’s what you need,
a slice of bread and some wonderful cheese.
A little bit of pepper and some orange salt,
And three hundred and fifty degrees.

    Chorus

Ask your Mom or Dad to slice the cheese,
And turn on the oven, don’t forget to say please!!
And the salt and pepper and some TLC.
    It’s as easy as One…Two…Three.

    Chorus

Now place it in the oven for ten or fifteen
Minutes until the cheese is melty.
I think it’s ready, can I have some please.
Let’s have some toast and cheese!

I’ve been playing these songs a lot the last few days, guess it shows something about my current state of mind…

    Imagine by John Lennon

    Imagine there’s no heaven,
    It’s easy if you try,
    No hell below us,
    Above us only sky,
    Imagine all the people
    living for today…

    Imagine there’s no countries,
    It isn’t hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
    And no religion too,
    Imagine all the people
    living life in peace…

    Imagine no possesions,
    I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
    A brotherhood of man,
    Imagine all the people
    Sharing all the world…

You may say I’m a dreamer,
but I’m not the only one,
I hope some day you’ll join us,
And the world will live as one.

    Dreamer by Ozzy Osbourne

Gazing through the window at the world outside
    Wondering will mother earth survive
Hoping that mankind will stop abusing her sometime

After all thereโ€™s only just the two of us
And here we are still fighting for our lives
Watching all of history repeat itself
    Time after time

    Iโ€™m just a dreamer
    I dream my life away
    Iโ€™m just a dreamer
    Who dreams of better days

I watch the sun go down like everyone of us
Iโ€™m hoping that the dawn will bring a sign
A better place for those Who will come after us …
    This time

    Iโ€™m just a dreamer
I dream my life away oh yeah
    Iโ€™m just a dreamer
    Who dreams of better days

Your higher power may be God or Jesus Christ
It doesnโ€™t really matter much to me
Without each others help there ainโ€™t no hope for us
Iโ€™m living in a dream of fantasy
    Oh yeah, yeah, yeah

If only we could all just find serenity
It would be nice if we could live as one
When will all this anger, hate and biggotry …
    Be gone?

    Iโ€™m just a dreamer
    I dream my life away
    Today
    Iโ€™m just a dreamer
    Who dreams of better days
    Okay
    Iโ€™m just a dreamer
    Whoโ€™s searching for the way
    Today
    Iโ€™m just a dreamer
    Dreaming my life away
    Oh yeah, yeah, yeah

    Dreamer by Supertramp

Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said dreamer, you’re nothing but a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said ‘Far out, – What a day, a year, a laugh it is!’
You know, – Well you know you had it comin’ to you,
Now there’s not a lot I can do

    Dreamer, you stupid little dreamer;
So now you put your head in your hands, oh no!
I said ‘Far out, – What a day, a year, a laugh it is!’
You know, – Well you know you had it comin’ to you,
Now there’s not a lot I can do.

    Well work it out someday

    If I could see something
You can see anything you want boy
    If I could be someone-
You can be anyone, celebrate boy.
    If I could do something-
    Well you can do something,
    If I could do anything-
Well can you do something out of this world?

Take a dream on a Sunday
Take a life, take a holiday
Take a lie, take a dreamer
dream, dream, dream, dream, dream along…

Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said dreamer, you’re nothing but a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!

Love those selections Nursewhen! I’m listening to Blondie’s Rapture as I type. Now it’s U2’s “In the Name of Love” I love these lines…….

    Early morning April 4
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky
Free at last they took your life
they could not take your pride

And again from U2 from “From the Cradle to the Grave” it’s asong that has significance to me not for human to human love but to my spiritual love of my life; so it’s important for personal to me.

    “You say you want
diamonds and a ring a gold
You say you want your story to remain untold
But all the promises we make from the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you…”

It’s like a conversation I have with the Buddha since I’m a Buddhist.

Some of the “promises” that I hear back…..

    You say You’ll give me
A highway with no one on it
Treasure just to look upon it
All the riches in the night

    You say you’ll give me
eyes in a moon of blindness
A river in a time of dryness
    A harbor in the tempest

    TAke care

it is called “This Is God” by Phil Vassar. i may be wrong about the exact title and the spelling of the artist name. but i feel this is a very important song especially with the current world situation! i can’t hear this song without tears in my eyes! if someone can find the lyrics for me i would love it. i think he is a new artist in the country western music market. that is not what i normally listen to but i got a chance to see 2 of his songs on a tv program, and i fell in love with his music and message! i would also recommend his song called “An American Child”. it may be called “An American Child” but it speaks to every person who has grown up on the bad side of town and still had the power to rise up and make a difference! i find this guy a perfect example of that! from what i have heard. so i would love to see what everybody thinks about him and i would love to have a link to a site if someone has one. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Not that it matters much to anyone anymore but bluegrass is the choice for me now including the tune “I’ll Fly Away” and “I Am Weary” from the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack and “Crazy Fate” and “Take Me For Longing” from the album New Favorite- Allison Kraus and Union Station.

You may all go back whatever you might be doing.

I’m in love with American movies,
I see one almost every day.
Science fiction means everything to me,
The word of god on a cathode ray.
We’re the church of the modern-day cinema,
    Mother Mary was born today.
A perfect way to model my behavior,
See her act the video plays.

“I would be for you a fire in a rainbow
I would be for you an opening door.
Time and hard lessons are one kind of wisdom
Try to forget them or love me no more.”

“I’m not asking your heart to believe me
I’m not asking for promise or plans.
Forever the answers, yes that’s the question.
I am the fool dancing over the edge.”

apart from the usual (Blink 182, Anouk, A, Zebrahead, Jimmy Eat World, Lit and Feeder) Ive been listening to “simple plan” lately. They’re a bit pop, but Im bored as hell with music out now. Ive also been listening to The Ataris. It’s wierd how it caught my eye. I saw them on MTV, and their album is called ‘so long, Astoria’. Astoria is the town the Goonies lived in. I checked the internet and found out this IS why they called the album. They’re all Goonies fans. Of course, I used kazaa to find some more of their stuff. It’s okay, they’re a cover band more than anything though. Lots of 80’s rock repunked. Tis okay.
