I tend to agree. I sincerely hope that I am wrong, but AA doesn’t really have anything to gain from the upkeep of sites dedicated to shows no longer in production.
That being said, I might remind Mr.Johnny T Dude Knife Sexecutioner 6676 that he has been banned from Sad’s before as well. It has happened before, it will surely happen again. 🙄
When it does this time, there may be no lexx.com for you to sneak into under another…ahem…brillianly sexecuted disguise. 🙄

I’m supposed to be on the road right now, but am taking a minute to pass on the reply I have just received from Troy Strum concerning lexx.com:

I’m not involved anymore, period. Salter is officially gone – no offices, no
employees, no nothing. I have no idea who offically owns the Lexx property
rights right now (bot you might want to find that out – because if it’s not
AAC you stand a better chance of getting a new official site). The server it
was hosted on is gone, and it looks like AAC only transitioned the sites
that are needed for current shows.Anyway, hope that puts stuff to rest for you.

It’s been down since June 1. Various Boredmembers have been kind enough to send e-mails to TPTB, but we don’t really know anything yet. I suspect drone arms are at work.

But this is a very comfy, cozy place to be. I’ve been here since the Bored went down for a week last year, and I love it. I miss my Lexx.com, but I am glad to be Sad.

Ah, I see. I have been out of action for a while, found out that a submission form for my thesis was never given to me, and by the time I found out what was going on I had the grand total of 4 days to finish 4 years of work. 😯 I have been franically writting and editing ever since. I did get an extention, but that was not really enough that I would relax and edit, I still had to write up to 18 hours a day. Almost done now though. So I am back again 🙂

I find it QUITE extraordinary that the community lost its home without warning and managed to reassemble itself so quickly. Frankly, I think thats pretty astonishing and speaks volumes about the collective ingenuity and bonding of our sect of Lexxians.

El_Coul, you perfectly expressed something I’ve been thinking ever since this all began. This is a community without borders. Home is wherever we choose to hang our hat. I happen to consider myself a Lexx fandom vagabond. Lexx.com has always been my first home, but I frequent a great many of the Lexx boards. I don’t take sides in fan politics and the like, so for me, this whole Lexxian community is my home.
On that note, as I was making rounds passing along Troy Strum’s e-mail to iStan ( hope you don’t mind, iStan ) I noticed the folks at the DarkZone Trading Post suggested another phpboard in the style and spirit of Lexx.com.
Any thoughts?

Headgehog, I don’t know if you ever checked lexx.com but this happened to him twice…last time I banned him just 2 weeks before the bored went down. apparently he didn’t learn his lesson :(.

I run a phpboard with theSteve2k for another site and can tell you they are remarkably user friendly and easy to run.
The only potential obstacle is finding a host.One of my dearest friends runs a webhosting company so I might be persuaded to throw one up if I thought enough people would visit.
I’d even spring for the domain registration fee. 😉

Glad you made it here Fourth! I have sympathy knots in my stomach for you. Maybe when the nightmare is over you can share some of your thesis with us. I for one am always keen to see what my fellow Lexxians are up to. And after spending four years on it you gotta show it off.
Thank you iStan for contacting Troy. The news really sucks. AA hasn’t responded to any of my e-mails. If for no other reason than as an outlet for my discontent, I am going to try other ways of contacting them and requesting explanation and help.
As to another php message board – I think it would be wonderful. I offered gela my help doing whatever on the Yahoo message board. I make the offer again to anyone who is serious. If nothing else I can crack out my pom-poms, do some cheerleading and serve cyber snacks to all those actually doing the work. I am technically challenged but I am a quick study. 😀
Perhaps, if Dee or whoever actually gets hold of Paul Donovan, he will be willing to let us use the Lexx.com domain. Or http://www.lexxx.com might be fun. As I recall barber and thatguyben are puter pro’s and might be willing to lend a hand for set up. Stormie might be cajoled into helping too (more naked lady pic’s?). I think barber, the incorrigeable curmudgeon, can be tracked down at his roguedemon site – I will try it.
El Coul! You rock man. If $$$’s are required I bet any number of us would be more than willing to send some bucks. I doubt any of us are independently wealthy but as a group we could all probably spare a few bucks or euros each. 😀
All my fellow Lexxians are what made Lexx.com worthwhile. As long as such great people as you all stick and pull together Lexx.com won’t be gone. We’ll just move, that’s all. 😀

Well, lest you think too much of my ‘generosity’ its only around $6 a year to register and keep a domain name… which I could probably find in my couch cushions. And I was thinking/hoping I could get it hosted free of charge with my friends company.

AA doesn’t care about it, and most likely would not get into a p*ssing match with PD over it. At least not for several years when it achieves the high cult status (and potential marketability) we all expect.
PD has shown several times he supports the site and knows that he could find enough techie-Lexxians to handle the site administration without any effort or on going labor expense. The site is mainly BB, and they do not have the expense and bandwidth issues that a full blown site might have.
So I think you may just want to be patient. 🙂 There is statistically a very good chance that this will work out okay.
Which is not to say that the poetry is not good. 🙂
Might I suggest Lexx Haiku’s in the classic 5-7-5 form with the topic being what you miss the most? 🙂
