I too remember the ‘Nowhere Man’. Got them on tape some place stashed around here. Wasn’t there an episode where Vail was called Number 6???

What really hacked me was it only lasted one season ๐Ÿ˜ฅ and it left with a cliffhanger.

    oooops ๐Ÿ˜ณ

You’re right. I should have remembered that or at least looked it up since I also have that book. I totally forgot that a stone burner could have too much fuel and thus destroy a planet.

Right on guys, this should be an excellent addition.

Just one thing, a stone burner was not a planet killing weapon. It seems to be closer to a ‘neutron bomb’ in that it maims the flesh but leaves structures intact. Otherwise, when the one that Othyem set off blew, it would have made a short series of Dune. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Other than that tho, keep up the good work. This is a great site!!!

I really hope this post does not sound too anal but here it goes anyway. (Hey, I’m unemployed right now and have had a lot of time to re-read the books ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

The Tleilaxu created the face dancers, and they can’t reproduce since they are mules. Scytale, in Chapterhouse, wants to have access to an axotl tank to create some as servants, thus they are a creation of the dirty Tleilaxu.

Farad’n is Wensicia’s son as described in Children of Dune.

That said, I do wonder what happened to the child of Feyd and Lady Fenring. This child is even described as ‘another possibility’ in a self musing from Mohaim in Messiah. That seemed to be the last reference to the child as far as I could find.

In the series, Irulan seduced Feyd simply to get the true story behind the overthrow of the Atreides.

I absolutly loved TBJ and think that so far, it is the best of the prequels. When Erasmus killed Serena’s child, it brought tears to my eyes. I haven’t had a book do that to me in a long time.

The twist that the Harkonnens are the good guys and the Atreides are the bad was pure genius in my opinion.

I can’t wait for ‘The Machine Crusade’ to be released. But something I read in God Emperor really got my hairs to stand on end.

    A SPOILER ALERT FOLLOWS:

Norma Cenva will become the mistress of Aurelius Venport and give him five children in addition to the plans for the first Guild ship. That amazing reference can be found on page 183 of the paperback copy of God Emperor or 178 of the recent hardcover reprint. It blew my mind when I read that.

Yes, I agree. Leeloo was hot in ‘The Fifth Element. In fact it got me to thinking about other red heads in sci fi. I was thinking about Mel from Dr. Who but then remembered the one I really liked. Peri Brown played by Nicola Bryant.

I hope I never see ‘The Prisoner’ givin the Hollywood treatment. As if I want to see some flavor of the month playing #6. ๐Ÿ™„

The fact that they are even thinking about this 30+ years after the series just proves Hollywood has not a clue about what the series was about. Hollywood just wants to find the simplest way to shed us from our hard earned money.

I’ll never see a Prisoner movie, no matter who is in it.

Thank you for creating this forum. This is too cool. I have been a fan of ‘The Prisoner’ since I first saw it in 1971 or so. Of course, I was too young to really understand it but I remember Rover ๐Ÿ™‚

I just bought ‘The Complete Prisoner’ so that I could have all the eps on DVD. A must have for any fan of the series. If you can get it, do so…

Without a doubt, my favorite episode is ‘Free For All’.

This was actually the second episode filmed but is usually shown forth. There is a reference in it to Number 6 being a ‘recent recruit’.

The episode involves an election for the position of Number 2. I loved the way Number 2 manipulated Number 6 into running against him for the post and then the way the posters appeared. I laugh every time I see that scene.

The reason this is my favorite is that it is the perfect statment about elections. In the US and I suppose in Britain too. I have to watch this episode before I vote in any election ๐Ÿ˜€
