Making fun of anything is truly alright in my book…except making fun of me, ofcourse.

Startide Rising (by Brin), I don’t know many asian actors that can play Toshio. Maybe that asian guy from Voyager. Directed by James Cameron. There was alot of action in the book and I think he’s good in those kinds of films.

Books of Blood, the story with the two villages that resolve their differences in a very odd manner – director Ridley Scott. I don’t recall any main characters but for some reason Pierce Brosnan in a massive flesh monster seems appropriate.

Good point. I’m also not sure about these being Aeon’s dreams since we aren’t supposed to be able to dream death – the one common feature of the shorts.

Personally, if it’s going to be based on dreams, why not Trevors dreams/nightmares?

I always thought these shorts were capsules. My opnion is that there’s no right answer and that whatever you assume is happening, is.

Using the main character as a tool to reinforce his (Chang’s) message, expandable – often times like her role in the story, is pure genius.

The themes the characters represent are interesting aswell. Chaos and order seem to come up often, and what I found even more interesting is that each character doesn’t represent the same theme or value in every episode. Sometimes Trevor may embody traits and attitudes Aeon usually portrays.

IMO Aeon Flux is some of the better fiction out there.

Did it really get good ratings when they were originally aired – I mean MTV? Isn’t their demographic between 10-16?

Anyone watch BattleField Detectives? More documentary and historical accounts… but very interesting if you like that sort of thing.

You are absolutely right on that pot calling the kettle black thing. I hate it when the writers make a character the loser all the time. Give the guy a break, I mean they even took his eye for piss sakes!

I’m not a big buffy fan, but I remember an episode where Zander saves their high school. A well written episode that involved peer pressure and zombies, if I recall correctly the premise. He’s basically the protagonist in this one. I’m not sure if it was a one time deal, but the character seemed to be more than just comic relief.

I sent an email, but hell I also sent an email when they didn’t bring back William Shatners “Fright Nights”. What pisses me off is that Sci-Fi will waste more money developing a show with ultra-regurgitated scripts like Tremors, when you could produce a dozen animated shows with a hundred times more material for writing fiction for the same amount.

Actually animation is much more expensive than live… as a matter of fact, the only thing that really makes a live sit-com relatively expensive are salaries. Look at Friends…I wouldn’t say the studio set cost them a lot.

Well money talks, so we’ll see what happens to TtR. Everyone keep their fingers crossed.

I want to believe that it’ll work but it seems that it might not, if SCI-FI was interested they would have found writers for season 2 by now… you never know, maybe Mr. Vitale is just taking his time. Hopefully with the best intentions of striking a deal with some hot-shot writers. The guy that writes for Buffy is pretty damn good…

I thought it was a pretty good episode. Could have been better. I kinda liked that they used T’nuk more… I kinda like T’nuk in a mean, evil-biotch typa way. I still don’t think Whip did enough though. I loved Six’s sex position that was hilarious.

This isn’t the stinker I mentioned… the problem with this show was the delivery. This was one of those scripts that was funny as hell on paper, but just didn’t come out right (IMO). Everytime I watch that episode I cringe because it had the potential to be one of the best episodes…

Yeah, if the creators are working on the project then they continue as if it belongs to them. But if the corporation buys all the rights and brings in there own staff, these people are of the mindset that they are working on someone else’s project and are easier to control. And as lexxrobotech pointed out, this tends to ruin the outcome. Money has a way of destroying art.[/quote]

I think its partly to avoid potential conflicts during decision making; using different writers gives the producer more control over the content. It also costs less; two less salaries to dish out. Maybe I’m wrong…

I think Chode is the Captain and therfore gets to do what he wants. Also, the crew basically had to go along with his plans and probably T’Nuk was more interested in the acolade than the prize money.

Not sure about question 2. That’s one for one of the writers. How about it CLR? Any ideas?

I think T’nuk wasn’t really concerned with the money as much as the attention (she keeps reapeating “You like me, you really like me!” when she wins by default). What SadGeezer is also valid…I guess it wasn’t that important for the flow of the story to put in that precise detail…

As for question 2, I really have no clue what line you’re referring to. I’d have to look over the episode. That’s a question for the Denkster – he directed the show, he MUST know!

    I like these comparisons… indeed I do.

On a completely different note – what is your favourite character of the show.

I think the consensus among the prod team was that Chode was the funnest to animate and watch (he’s so expressive – a big mouth with tentacles and a pot belly). But I’d like to know what viewers think… a close second for me was T’nuk (even though she was a technical nightmare).
