I really hope this is not a simple one off. I’ve got the software and camera’s to shoot a Fan video.

My main problem is I’m the only Fan of Lexx that I know. I’m not going to find and pay actors to play out a Fan fantasy.

There are thousands of Star Trek and Star Wars fan videos.. Us Lexx fans need more than just one.

If there are any fans here in Vegas.. I’ll be happy to put something together.

It was nice to see coverage of Hichhikers Guide BBC Show. The reviewer seemed to completely ignore the contributions of Dereck Meddings and all of the previous work on Space 1999, UFO, and even the Thunderbirds.

Quite the insult to bring up Superman I because of the great work of Dereck Meddings. The effects might look cheesy on the small screen. But on the big screen almost all of them work.

Reviewers of TV shows need to understand that shooting for TV is totally different that shooting for Film. This will still be true until everybody has a 80in Super Duper HD TV. Ummm the year 2040?

I really like the SadCasts.. but you folks need to come up with a FORMAT. A graphic style for the show to follow. Resist the urge to use 3d wipes. All you need is cross fade.

Please get rid of the head sets. You look like rabbits. Get a $100 mic and put it out of frame. Please.

Start thinking of Sadcast as your own TV show. You have almost all the tools to look slick. So look slick.

Remember content is king. Your reviews and inside information is what makes your show better than anything Sci-Fi or ?? can field.

A quality powered mic (Azden SGM-X) $100 taped to a broomstick should do the trick. Have a camera guy AND a sound guy with head phones as part of your crew.

Everything else looks fine. Your round the couch format will come together with better sound.

I’ve got a few Vegas video’s out there.. I use Ulead Media Studio Pro with Mpeg4 plugins for editing on a PC. 300×240 30fps. I’m using Google Video for distribution and the French website Dailymotion.com.

It all comes down to money. It is really cheap to bring in $5 an hour PA’s to man the Mac computers. So it takes 25 or 50. Those poor souls hold out hope that the big guns will throw them a crumb. Thus they spend probably 12 hours a day using the Internet as their own little money machine.

This stuff is totally evil. Whedon and his crew are guilty as hell.

Its a stupid story.. The fans had me for lunch.

They never had a problem with my name. They were successful in making me take my views elsewhere. Had to close down my personal web site and change Email accounts etc. I’m thankful that my house is not in my name or the “Fans” would probably have burned my house down. Really.

A very negative dark side to the fans.

I never expected that people (this new generation of fans) would personally attack another person. The thing is to engage in conversation. The FF/S fans see every contrary voice as an Enemy to be shot. They believe that if they organize and bully everybody they can get more Buffy/Angel/FF/ and Whedon. These BrownCoats are just like a Neo Nazi group. The only difference is they use their Hate tactics via the Internet.

Quite the education.

Hollywood does not work like these idiots think it does. Whedon panders and pimps these people to his selfish ends. A horrible circle jerk. Like when the FF fanbase took out a full page ad in a trade publication when Fox canceled their “baby”.

If a TV series does NOT bring in the Numbers it is canceled. There are exceptions.. Firefly was never the exception.

Serenity failed in its release. Yet the crazies will buy 10 DVDs each or more to create the illusion it is a hit at home DVDs price to own.

There is a market for small narrow areas like FF/S. The key here is not to corrupt the system to get what you want. To pile up bodies because of a stupid TV show.

I really like Lexx.. But I would never hurt anyone to protect it.

Firefly/Serenity with the exception of maybe ONE character.. what’s his name. (not the barney miller guy) All of them are totally “Pretty People”. DarkStar/Alien/Aliens had flawed characters. They looked like the knew how to sweat.

Firefly/Serenity have Very attactive people with contrived probems. It as if they all needed to go home and just chill out. Because they could. Whedon created such a stupid Universe it is like some hyper Fox demographic of what everybody wants. They all shop at the mall.. hang out and be cool.

Space Western? Check out the 1986 Animated TV series “Galaxy Rangers” now that was neat. And it actually made logical sense. The creators took traditional Western stories and put them in a future context. Wheadon could’t even pull that off.

Rod Serling used the Western Genre all through out his writing career with incredible results. Twilight Zone – Night Gallery. Just so good.

Whedon was given (handed) forty MILLION DOLLARS to recreate his FAILED TV SERIES. JC! Where is the money for the feature film of Lexx? The one where we all get to see stanley, Xev and Kai have sex with hot looking Babes. Duh.. Us folks that have a brain either get to read good stuff or place orders to UK Region 2 to get our Sci-Fi fix.

There is nothing good in any way at all in Firefly/Serenity. For me I didn’t even get the chance to feel good when it was rightly cancelled. Whedon made super BANK (one way or the other) got to make a movie he never earned. George Lucas nearly killed himself when he made his First Star Wars film. Whedon just showed up.

Maybe its the sign of the times. Reward the losers and destroy the folks with vision. Some of our best and brightest are dying in Iraq. While the silver spoon twits are back here having 3 ways in their dorms. The A-Team US marshals gun down an unarmed man and make a spectacle of blowing up his luggage. A strike against Terror. meanwhile somebody’s son or daughter is throwing their life away just for the chance at College.

Whedon encourages his loser fans to help keep him working. Doing things so low IMHO that I would never do if I was homeless and hungery. Maybe if I had a couple of kids out on the street with me I would get a bunch of losers together to PIMP my garbage. Gather up money to distribute my horrible TV shows to Libraries to help bring more fans into my pocket book 10-20 years down the line. But once on my feet I would stop. Whedon on the other hand is still out there pimping himself at Comic book conventions shamelessly pimping everything he can. A no talent loser with his **** up all the teens ****.

There needs to be a new wave of Good realistic sci-fi movies.. not these urban over privileged Platinum card caring kids with Cell Phones and I-Pods that want their pandering safe comic book realities.

It’s still wartime so we won’t see anything good unless some Indy Producer breaks through maybe via the Internet.

It is full CGI recreation of the 1960’s Gerry and Silvia Andersons puppet series. It has Gravity and a sense of Reality that Firefly/Serenity will never have. I wonder if SMG is up for another Chick Vampire series? No? How about a biker Chick in space? Yes! Yea.. Coming to the Sci-Fi channel soon!

New adventures is available only in the UK right now. Because the USA/Canada/Sci-Fi channel is doing nothing but creating JUNK!! Dam! They even ran Farscape into the ground!!

I went ahead and ordered the first part of season one of “Scarlett” Amazon.uk

I also bought first season of Sci-Fi Channels Invisible Man Region 2 only. (had to open up my DVD to play these DVDs) Funny how USA Network will NOT release season 2 of Invisible Man.

Lexx is one of the few Sci-Fi TV series to actually be told an END DATE.

So instead of the crew of the Lexx being held in limbo somewhere. We had the luxury of seeing the end of Lexx.

Instead of trying to restart Lexx we should support Paul Donovan in a new project.

The genius team that brought us Lexx must have many more Sci-Fi genre series in their heads. If given the support and chance.. I FOR ONE can’t wait to see what they come up with.

We are not Star Trek loons. It would be stupid to rehash the Lexx universe over and over and over until we get something horrible like Enterprise was to the Star Trek franchise.

So instead of the Sci-Fi channel throwing out the SG1 junk.. “Next year the new SG1 L.A.” Oh Please. And don’t get me started on that horrible slow moving juggernaut Battlestar Galactica. Do you BSG fans know that their new Series has barely moved past the 1978 Original Pilot? I mean how slow can they move the thing along. Oh and I saw the attack on the cylon base for fuel. I’ve seen better special effects out of my PS2. Yet the kids seem to love it.

A petition needs to be started to bring Donovan and team back to Sci-Fi channel. Lets let Lexx live on in our DVD players.

I had heard years ago that the character Sulu was going to have his own series based on his adventures.. In the time frame as “The Undiscovered Country” movie.

It would have been nice to have a captain that would “Fly his ship apart”.. More action and a closer look at that part of the Star Trek time line.

Going back to the beginning with Enterprise… A grand idea. They were so full of telling politically correct stories they lost Adventure aspect the Kirk Star Trek always had. Enterprise had all the excitement of a G8 summit.

The only episode I caught of Enterprise lately was the alternate dimension sword through the earth thing. Archer was a Politically correct jerk. Oh boy.. Now that was exciting. Yawn.

I thought “Feminism in SPACE…” Voyager was as low as the franchise could stoop. But Enterprise was able to lower the bar.

If everything goes great with my plans… In a few years I might get a chance to create a Sci-Fi TV series. Have the story outlined and a very good plan to make it a economical to shoot yet funny and smart. The problem is I need to have some financial success so I can completely fund the project myself.

No studio exec’s telling me what to do.. I mean Lexx is the perfect example (I guess). Lexx was so far out there that Donovan and crew seemed to be able to what ever they wanted to.

Oh… I’m on a quest to meet with Paul Donovan. Not as a Fan of Lexx but a fan of how he pulled it all off. International distribution etc. To meet as two independent film makers.

So I have great respect for Sadman and his staff… Been here for a while. One of the better sci-fi sites.
