The Kings Avatar has only completed it’s first season a few weeks ago and already the first awards have started coming in. The first were awarded at the prestigious Chinese and American Television Festival, C.A.T.F. in Los Angeles in November 2019. There are others too, I’m sure it’s the first of many!
I would very much like to see Yang Yang return for Season 2 of The Kings Avatar, especially as he attracted so many female fans to the genre. Losing him as a main character would be catastrophic to the live series. Jiang Shuying is a must for the show too. I’m hoping that more female fans will warm up to her. She also suffered from poor writing for the show and many female fans thought her acting was over-the-top.
The team is now in a position where young and exciting players are a problem, they need someone who is more mature and experienced and can help bring on the newer talent in the team. Enter Wei Chen.
This Kings Avatar episode Review covers episode 23 which introduces a key new character to Team Happy. The previous review of The Kings Avatar introduced a different character to the team and this trend will continue for the next few episodes.
Xiao Shiqin tries to settle into his new guild (Excellent Era) and has his work cut out for him because Sun Xiang is not about to share power. We are also introduced to a new cleric, An Wenyi who is far from a healing influence.
The objective of this episode was to introduce to us a new secondary character. I’m not sure why, in the general scheme of things, although this character is very strong and interesting, he is relatively pointless to the overall story. The character is called Qiu Fei and he’s played excellently by Di Zilu.
In this episode, the cast is quite small (seriously, it’s like half the cast and crew went on holiday) and we don’t get many scenes of Glory gameplay but there is a big bonus for all the Yang Yang fans watching…..
The wonderful Maggie Jiang is taught how to be a good eSports Team Manager from an unlikely teacher. Liu Qiu Shi (who played Xu Boyuan) and Jiang Shuying (aka Maggie Jiang who played Chen Guo) were terrific and saved a rather mediocre episode!
