i am enjoying both buffy and angel but i think angel right now is moving faster, along with the sheer nostalgic joy of having faith and willow show up… but i guess now things will pick up a bit on buffy too as she swings into her swansong; it is driving me nuts knowing that this wonderful show is coming to its end, but on the other hand, it has matured well with the scoobies thus far, become more real life and sadder as the scoobies have assumed the responsibilities and disappointments of adulthood, so it is natural to end it…and besides, the crux of the entire slayer legend is that ‘all slayers come stamped with an expiration date’ , and thus far buffy has lasted through several apocalypses, and her own death (x2); she has more than paid her dues and is entitled to some peace finally (plus any film roles that might be forthcoming 😉 )

i am kind of wondering about cordy carrying conner’s baby; do we think that’s for real, or is it another ruse by the evil possessing cordy?

well, if you’re talking about the sadboard forum index, no, i get the latest posts visible, but tonight i cannot get from the main sadboard forum index to the individual forums…i was only able to get to this page through the email link sent to me notifying me of a reply to this topic…weird huh? 😕

alll riighhht, now i am totally confused; i just went back to the forum index to try to get to another forum and this time it worked…very strange 🙄

is there a poltergeist in the system do you think? and why is it i cannot log in from aol? i know the site is not webtv friendly, but why not aol?

i noticed that your email is on aol, so i am assuming that is your isp…i know that they insist on having aol at the office, and that i effectively cannot login from work (the fields won’t show up so that i can type in my login info)…besides being slow to load and getting that error in scripts thingie every time i switch pages…it may have something to do with aol…the site is also not webtv friendly…lately it has been taking forever to load the different pages on here too…i know it’s not my pc or my cable service because the other sites load quickly…by the way, good luck on your back; it does take forever to get those back things resolved, and they really aren’t ‘cured’ anymore than high blood pressure or diabetes; they are just controlled…don’t forget to control your diet and weight, and make sure your thyroid is working right; several hormonal problems will exacerbate the joint and bone degradation, and if one is overweight, that is literally the straw that breaks the camel’s back 😉

ok, now this is the real fx, who has just schlepped the real frey to the airport along with her convention rubble 😈

the con was great fun, especially since i had never been to one before; brian and patty were wonderful and sweet and introduced me to louise, who is lovely and shy and just a wonderful lady…i got to meet hds, manofwar, flame and newmoniker, just to name a few (and it has to be a few because my memory just ain’t what it used to be 😥 ) but hey, it was great to finally put faces to all you wonderful peeps! and did i mention the costumes?! hds was there in full dead kai regalia;; i even got to braid his hair for him although i had to do it several times since frey complained it was too low, and he whined that it wasn’t tight enough (hurt me more! 😀 ) finally, when his eyes were bulging out and the braid was acceptable to the entire peanut gallery, we had to find something to draw his tattoo with…ended up using a magic marker! (and yes, hds, the tattoo is brick red!!!!)

anyway, it was a great time, and as always brian and patty knocked themselves out for us, and i think were happ y to see so many supportive and friendly faces…

and as far as inseams go, yeah, people’s legs vary tremendously in relation to their overall height, and in general, men have longer torsos than women do

trini, cute nick for your hubby! i am 5’10 and a half or 5’11”, depending on who measures me,and my inseam is 36″, since like most women, my legs are longer than my body…i saw keanu at a club in virginia when he was playing with his band…and who cares if we go o/t, someone will redirect us 😉

xenia is relatively tall, but she is always in those incredible heels, however brian was the real surprise; i simply didn’t expect him to be that tall or that thin….anyway, the funniest thing was prince’s costume (the pale blue coat/pants/shirt from season 3)…sadgeezer is a way slim and tall guy, but the costume was a good fit on him (he modelled it for me last summer one drunken evening)…i just want to see one of the fans in the various kai costumes 😀 i am sure there are plenty of guys out there who will do justice to these venerable outfits 8)

two novembers ago, started watching buffy and the buffyspeak just sucked me in 😀 i love what joss and marty do with language/pop references , and i particularly loved the way one of the characters would finally say something serious, and then immediately make fun of it (my favorite is still the quote by giles ” a vampire in love with a slayer, how poetic….in a maudlin sort of way”, followed closely by angel telling buffy how he wanted to protect her heart, and she says ‘that’s really beautiful…or taken literally, really gross’ )

it’s sad that the memories of the movie kept me from watching the series until it was in syndication

as far as the folklore stuff; the buffy writers mostly make it up as they go along, some ‘factual’ stuff but mostly whatever drives the storyline

both of the admin boards are deceptively simple, hence a lot of stuff gets lost in the translation 😛 …the important thing is to be able to get passwords and such out…i guess it’s good to have the moderators really riding herd on the forums, whereas the admin functions are rarely invoked, so you don’t really need a whole lot of admin types…i am still concerned about the security of the system given the really bored but fiendishly ingenious peeps out there, so when all the real work is done on the site, we may want to revisit that issue…for what good it does, i will change my password frequently but in the meantime we’ll all just have to be careful (said the bishop to the lady 😈 )

i do not, however, have bonnee’s info, so i guess we will let the ban go, and see if he ventures back, and how he acts when he gets here

i have been nosing around the different admin functions, so i will reenter the ban data i do have and see how that goes…if the board goes down, you’ll know what happened, and who to call and rant at….

being a paranoid type, i do not know if having the admin center admissable from the main board/site is a good idea; all you need is to get the admin’s login/password, or the moderator’s, to get in…could be mischief for idle hands….a separate address might be advisable…just a thought

okay, just tried the banning; as those users do not (yet) exist on this board, they could not be banned…so i guess the banned people did not get imported in with the rest, but i will check the user lists anyway, and attempt banning the ip’s (although banning the ips is sort of an elephant gun approach, so i may unban the ip’s after)

i am not sure i would classify buffy as ‘pro-occult’; its setting is in our world plus various sorts of demons…i guess i would call it ‘alternate history’ as far as types of fiction go…and the demons are usually embodied forms of different issues that the various characters deal with…my comment about good and evil was a form vs substance issue, and admittedly i am not pro ANY fundamentalism…for example, how killing thousands of people who are not of your religion in some sort of bogus holy war can be considered good, or how ‘aids is god’s judgment’ on homosexuality and therefore thousands of people dying because they were gay is good…i won’t go on, but i hope you see what i am talking about…

by the way, i agree with you on the xander issue, he has never faced any consequences for that little betrayal, but it was referred to once during season 7 i think…and i feel that the writers will bring it up again… maybe xander felt his sin of lying was a small thing against the greater good of killing evil angel?

conner is NOT the source the demon is seeking, nor the’answer is among you’ that demonchild so enigmatically referred to…i am happy about this as i feel conner was going the short and miserable life of buffy…i am tired of the tension of the wes/fred/gunn triangle…and i am also tired of angel’s peevishness…let’s face it; 250 years should have given angel some insight into the fact that he cannot be any girl’s dream date, so he really is not entitled to a prolonged snit about the cordy thing…on the other hand, i guess having a soul, and whatever peevishness the implied humanity of THAT condition implies, means that he cannot help feeling bitter about his enforced solitude…sigh…well, can’t wait for next week…and by the way, i liked the ‘loving memory of glenn quinn’ caption at the end; at least the guy got some kudos, even if it is too late, and from the show that killed off his character…
