His Dark Materials – TV Show Review

His Dark Materials – TV Show Review

This is a children’s show about the death of God. Ok, ok, I know i’s more than that but it is a children’s book (actually a trilogy) which is very good and much loved by old an young alike. It’s rumoured that it wasn’t originally intended as a ‘young adult’ novel, but was re categorised by the publisher.  This was aimed at being an entertaining family TV show with dark scary undertones – His Dark Materials delivered that. But, can it keep up the momentum?

The first were awarded at the prestigious Chinese and American Television Festival, C.A.T.F. in Los Angeles in November 2019. There are others too, I’m sure it’s the first of many!

Kings Avatar Season 2. Will Yang Yang Return?

Kings Avatar Season 2. Will Yang Yang Return?

I would very much like to see Yang Yang return for Season 2 of The Kings Avatar, especially as he attracted so many female fans to the genre. Losing him as a main character would be catastrophic to the live series. Jiang Shuying is a must for the show too. I’m hoping that more female fans will warm up to her. She also suffered from poor writing for the show and many female fans thought her acting was over-the-top.

Oxygen Not Included: fun, cute, surprisingly hard and immensely satisfying

After two years in early access Oxygen Not Included has now been officially launched, and we should all play it. It’s a gorgeous hand-drawn colony builder that makes you balance an absolutely insane amount of variables and never stops throwing increasingly complex problems at you, and it’s so blissfully addictive.

Anime Autumn/Fall 2019 – the best shows so far….

Anime for 2019 Autumn/Fall season: I tried to view only those shows that were sci fi related and were aimed at older kids/adults. I’ve reviewed about 15 of them and these are the first 5. These are the first of the shows that I’ve seen that I would recommend you checkout:

Carole & Tuesday Anime Series – Recommended!

Carole & Tuesday Anime Series – Recommended!

This is an Anime review of the Carole & Tuesday series – a story about a musical, girly duo set on a terraformed Mars. Tuesday Simmons, (from a wealthy and politically powerful family) runs away from a stifled existence at home.  She meets her soul buddy, Carole Stanley a struggling part-timer who likes to play music but finds it difficult holding down a job. The guitar and piano playing duo rise to stardom with style and a healthy amount of cuteness – but the sci fi backdrop is truly inspiring!

The Kings Avatar Episode 19 Live Action Review (Quanzhi Gaoshou)

The Kings Avatar Episode 19 Live Action Review (Quanzhi Gaoshou)

The objective of this episode was to introduce to us a new secondary character.  I’m not sure why, in the general scheme of things, although this character is very strong and interesting, he is relatively pointless to the overall story.  The character is called Qiu Fei and he’s played excellently by Di Zilu.
