I’m gonna have to agree with Lexxlurker on this one. The prolouges and the stories seemed rushed quite often. However the way the current “season” ended seems to open up soem possiblities for the remainder of the season/series. (With the x-303 and Thor’s problem with the replicators.)

Is there a special program I can use to make banners. Or will irfanview do? I tried making one up for TTR a few days ago, with little success.

Does this person have influence in the farscape community? Or is s/he just a random unknown trying to start something big?
I guess what I’m trying to ask is if this “party” was known to the save farscape people?

It just seems so assinine to hold such a monumental event in a forum so primitve the Assyrians thought it was ancient! The only plus to having it on that forum is that scifi can see the fan support. But I doubt the scifi suits care about that anymore.

I loved this epsiode. I wasn’t to worried about recycled plotlines in the beginning though. The shear sarcasm and wit in the first 20 min was good enough for me. As for the plot of teaching a woman to be independent, I was pretty sure that the episode was going to go further then that. Much like how the first 2 min of The Simpsons has nothign to do with the the last 10 min. (At least in recent seasons)

Yes I also noticed the akward silence in the space scenes. While I don’t miss the lame sound effects, some background music (even the bad country stuff) would be nice. Of course it is sometimes heard in the transitional space scenes. IMHO the chilling dead quiet of the space shots adds to the realism of the great void. And the silence is also also a great way to add suspense to a shot/scene.

I’d have to agree, the episode started off slow. I kept thinking to myself “I liked this story better when its stared Kevin Bacon, and the monster/demon was called a Graboid”
The last half of the episode has left me very confused. So does Spike have a soul? What was Anya refering to when she asked Spike how he did “it”? Is Spike crazy and imagined the evil changling dude, or is he just playing Hamlet? And generally, WTF just happened?

I thought that the second episode cinched it for me. The Train Job was lacking, and if it weren’t for this sites dedication to the show, I probably wouldn’t ahev given Firefly a second chance. But I’m glad that I did, because this last ep made up for the “pilot”.

I do belive that its still to early and pessimestic to be talking about cancellations. If Firefly were on UPN, this wouldn’t even be a discussion. But its only because its on FOX, a real network, that low ratings are becoming such an issue, here. I’m weary of FOX becasue of their cancellation of Greg the Bunny and Family Guy.[i/]

The ratings beign higher then opther Wheedon series is a good sign. ANd so is that it performed btter then the tiem slots previous occupant. But ratings did fall at the half way point, and not everyone who wathes the pilot stays for the rest of the series. Remember that Greg the Bunny was not renewed for similar reasons.
As for scifi picking it up, I doubt it. Scifi is movign away from its core audiance who loves space dramas. Personally I’ve lost all confidence in scifi after they cancelled farscape. It was the last straw after cancelling The Chronicle and not picking up another B5 series.

Okay, here’s what I’ve got so far, the series is still a go, as recent as Aug 28. based on this article I found at Animation World News.
”Film Roman’s new series, TRIPPING THE RIFT, is in production for the SCI-FI Channel”

Other confirmations are from further back…
May 17 ”Film Roman is also in production on their new 3D animated series, TRIPPING THE RIFT, that will debut on the SCI-FI Channel in early 2003.”

The Original Press Release on April 2
”The newly formed alliance of Canadian production company CinéGroupe and animation producer Film Roman Studios has begun production on SCI FI Channel’s first-ever animated series TRIPPING THE RIFT. The CG-animated series is based on the short film of the same name, with thirteen half-hour episodes slated to debut in first quarter 2003 as part of SCI FI’s regular Friday primetime line-up of original series. Created by Chuck Austen and Chris Moeller, TRIPPING THE RIFT follows the adventures of The Free Enterprise, a smuggling vessel led by a purple alien called Chode who, along with his misfit shipmates, battles enemies and new obstacles in space each week. “

And I even found one from back in November ’01 the hints that a series is a go
” The series TRIPPING THE RIFT is also expected to deliver initial episodes in late 2002 and early 2003. “

Hi everyone, and thank-you. I’ve been very busy this summer with my job, (and of course uncon) but now that school’s starting I have enough time to devote to my favorite website.

This is pretty exciting news. While it may seem like a small step, this opens lots of doors, and can help to inspire new ideas or interest people in improving on this design.

Sounds great, but take two thigns into consideration:
1) E=mc^2, right every knows that one. But not everyone knows what it means. It says that matter can be convertered into energy and vise-sersa. To create a lasagne out of nothing (but signals) will require a lot of energy! I mean more energy then we could ever harness (at least anytime soon)
2) Cloning food also seems like a way to end world hunger. But people oppose it because it fake, its spliced, its not organic. Blah blah blah. So don’t expect everyone to accept it immediatly if it porves viable. Just like nuclear fusion. No one will accept it because it has the N word in it. And since it produces radiation, it therefore must be evil in their eyes. (Cancer is treated with radiation, and radion nuclides are essential in some watches and most smoke detectors, but people quickly forget these examples, and instead remember TMI-2, Chernobyl, and nuclear weapons) I’m sure that in the stone age, there was some ignoramous who said “don’t use fire, it can be dangerous”, but s/he probably died a painful death of food poisoning; whereas the fire users ate cooked germ free food, and lived on. (only to die a more painful death from a saber tooth tiger, but thats besides the point)

Well pt2 was pretty far along already, so its not that big a deal that another thread was started. I’d say lock the old thread and go with this new one. But he should know that this is something the mods typically handle.

Lexxstone has been causing a lot of trouble over at scifi.com/lexx recently. He’s only recently started posting here. His first post was a fortnight ago in my SG1 forum. Lexxstone hasn’t caused any trouble at sads yet, unless you count this infraction.
If your paranoid you could say that he’s testing his limits over here, I have let him say a few choice things about LEXX in my forum. Conversely you be optimistic and say he was trying to be helpful.

So save the whips and chains for later, but let him know that starting continuationthread is for mods.

BTW, I still haven’t gotten my cat o’ nine tails yet.

I disagree. I haven’t been more excited for the rest of the season then I was sicne the pilot. This last episode had a great feel to it. They had a lot of location shots, and their building up a great story. If scifi had anything to do with changing the show, its looks to me like it was for the better.

Yes I like the new time slot too. I would like it more if it were at midnight so that its not competing ith one of my other favorite shows, Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV).
Lets face it, we all knew scifi would never show LEXX (the series) before 10pm. So I always suspected it would get the midnight or 1am slot. There’s no way they would move John Edward, one one there better rated shows, from the 11 and 11:30 slots.
Tales from the Crypt has been on there 12, 12:30 slots for months now, and has cycled through many times. With Lexx being at such a late time, competition is low, and scifi (and other networks in general) doesn’t mess with its late night scheduale too much. I think that it will reamin in that slot for a while. (hopefully)
