BTW you may have wanted to put spoilers in the title, as they will inevitably be brought up in this post.

I think Prince’s motivations are very different from those of Fire. On Fire he was consumed with the destruction of Water. Pursuing one goal for all of time and always failing had to have been frustrating. His goal in that season was to destroy water, but at the same time he wanted to inflict as much suffering as possible without interfering with his ultimate goal.
I would think that his original exploration of the Lexx or the great comet, in 3.01, was to find a kind of new weapon in his war. Prince seems curious to me, but not curious enough to go out of his sadistic way. After all he tried to take advantage of the Lexx via Xev as soon as she woke up.

In s4 we see Prince more cautious, in the beginning he’s unsure if he can be killed. He learns otherwise in p4x. Finding out he’s somewhat immoral only encourages his primary programming, inflicting pain. I’m certain Prince is doing stuff that we don’t know about. We’ve seen him organize the killing of seti and their family/friends etc, killing curious reporters, even one firsthand. “I’m good with butterflies” We also can’t forget the clear JFK analogy. He orchestrated the nuking of Cuba, and even tried to kill Geneve G Rota the Pope, and all of Miami. I’m not catholic but I would wager that the annihilation of the pope would **** off the entire catholic population; enough may to go to war(?) But perhaps he wasn’t trying to cause a holy war, maybe he just had some memories of Queen from Fire, he saw her as a threat, and wanted her destroyed. In p4x he wanted to cruelly kill Stan and Digby, but not without a little mental anguish first. He tried to get Stan to help him out of he room, so that HE could get help with Digby and imprison Stan again. In the same episode we see Prince developed a small obsession with Stan, I’m still uncertain what that’s about.
When Stan asks for help in Fluffdaddy, he helps him, while instructing the atf to be as cruel to Huffer as possible. Full cavity search anyone? Finally Prince spaces to astronauts, which imho is the worst kind of death. Imagine from an earther stand point, you run out of air and heat, you freeze and suffocate to death, all the while outside the home that you’ve know all your life, Earth. You’ll die farther in the cold loneliness of space, never to be seen again!

One of my favorite characteristics of Prince is that he often gets others to do things for him, and he always tells the truth, or at least one perspective of it. We saw him constantly manipulate both presidents in s4 to doing what he wants.

As for not getting what he wants, rubbish. He always gets what he wants! From the destruction of water to suffering of earthers.
And his obsession with the Lexx, That’s obvious. He sees it as a life raft. Prince is by no means stupid! He will screw up our LBP and then move onto another one, plain and simple. He may also see it and a final and total means to an end. As was the case with water.

All in all, Prince is by no means 1 demensional. And on a personal note, Pricne is one of my favorite characters not just in scifi but in all fiction. Hes cool charimatic callous paitent, and just so excelletn at being evil!

Assuming SciFi US doesn’t give Lexx another hiatus or more one week breaks (Ha!) it will end April 5th. I have no idea when Canada even restarts get off their hiatus (which starts in 2 weeks) so I can’t even begin to calculate when it will end. They’re stopping at 4.14 so if they start in February, North AMerica will end at about the same time. As for the UK, asuming SCIFI UK is better then the states and will go staright through, April 19th, but I would expect at least 1 or 2 one week breaks in there somewhere, so it will probably be in May.

If your planning a farwell to Lexx thing, which I think you may be, Plan it for the weekened of May 4th. Its a safe bet, that we’ll all end at around right before that time.

In actually any week besides the 15th would work. I know its ironic that I mentioned it. But since its the second week of my spring break, its doubtful I can get there without spending a lot extra money. But the weekend before works better for me too, a bunch of us from school can drive up there and split a room.

If anyone’s offended by sexuality, homo or hetero, or other contreversal stuff, then why would they be watching Lexx?! I’d hardly consider Lexx to be a family show, so why impose family values upon it?!

I put a bid up on it for $150. Not truelly expecting to win. Besides I only wanted the pants, so that they possibly could be hemmed to fit me. Any idea who one it? We may have a new Kai at this years uncon.

Also, I’n not the least bit surprised that they’re holding onto the hero costumes, but I think its kinda waery that they’ll ever be used again. But I’ll hope otherwise.

Or how about how Prince always sniffs people!? In an interview Nigel said that he thought that Prince should always smell people, so thats why Prince always sniffs at a first meeting. But I find that more weird then licking.

What physics are you in that’s going over experimental particle physics? I beleive that particle physics is a senior/grad level course here. But bosons are brought up during a junior level course in nuke e.

Putting a picture of Xenia on your paper will more then likely bump your grade up. Especially with a physics teacher/prof. Bonus points if its a high school teacher. Of course younger physics profs are frequently sci-fi fans so mentioning lexx may help. For some reason older physics profs hate sci-fi. One prof claimed that he gave up on the romantic ideals of science and its applications long ago. I should also mention this was my honors physics prof.

One thing that I forgot to mention, the glowing works best under a black light. Try it with lemon or pineapple jello shots, they light up a small area of the room under a blacklight! However the fluorescents will still show in normal light.

Also I type much too fast and often forget to spell check, so please excuse all my past/present/future typos.

I’ve read that Paul D was a physics major in collge. I can confidently say that they are a serious bunch of crazy masochists. I entered college as a physics major. I was slected for their (Univeristy of New Mexico) honors phyics program. Talk about mistake of mistakes. Honors physics is a gpa killer and a great way to give yourself migranes! I took me 3 weeks to go from Major: Phyics Minor: Nuke E and Math to just a straight Nuclear Engineering major. Physics SUCKS. I imagine that his physics backround is what gave us LEXX. That kind of hardcore thininking and resoning will drive oyu nuts to one degree or another.
    /rant

As for making booze glow, Alchohol is common in college (Even though I rarely even drink enough to get a small buzz, and I don’t drink much in between that, really honest), but making it glow is what happens when residence puts 4 hardcore science/engineering majors in the same SRC (apartment like dorm)

Finally, experiments on roaches were done a few years back, just for ****s and giggles. An entire group of roaches survived over 5 hours in a 5 W(t) nuclear reactor. They were determied to kill them so they put them into a cobalt cell. Think of it as a super power x ray machine. Then forgot about them, and them retrieved them after a few weeks. All were alive but one, who was being eaten by the others.
Like they say, after a nuclear holocaust only roaches and cher will survive!

My roomates and I frequently make glowign booze, crystals etc. All it takes is a highlighter. Just pu the tip of your highlighter into the liquid and let the dye ome out. This should only take a second or three. If you intend to drink it, vodka, rum, pina colada, jello shots, make sure it says non-toxic on the highlighter. If not you”l kill more brain cell sthen you would by normally drinking. You won’t even taste the dye! I suspect they used the same procedure for pattern, in the show.

To make crystals, just follow the directions in your kit, but use highlighter dyed water instead of mundane water.

Just in case anyones interested, to make stuff glow by nuclear means, place the object by a neutron source (nuclear reactor), allow to sit for a while. After removing the object it will glow shortly, salts work best. Roaches don’t glow or die, so don’t bother trying.

There are plently of plans going on for Lexx cons all over the place. The folowing is a list of cons in the works: (That I know of)

Las Vegas Con: Winter/early spring 2002 Las Vegas
    Lexx-o-rama: Mid July 2002 Sweden
Uncon 2002: tenativley July 13 or 20 Halifax
    European Con: Aug 2 England

Of all these the mopst accesable to Americans are Vegas and Uncon.

The Vegas con is still in the talking process amongst people onthe uncon mailing list. It will be more of a Lexxian gathering and excuse to go to Vegas, then a traditional convention. Even though there’s nothing traditionl about Lexx.

But if your lookign for cast and crew, look at uncon. According to rumors posted on scifi.com and the uncon mailing list, work has already begun on planning the event. ‘ll have more information as it becomes availiable.

I think JMS was trying to close that plotline in Crusade. We learned from Crusade that the Telepath war occured about 2 years earlier, or 3 years after objects at rest. Coincidence, no! Bester was written into several episode of Crusade, but the series was cancelled right before they were going to film the first episode with him in it. Bester was on the run as a war criminal, and had potential information on the Icarus(?) or whatever Gideons first ship was called.
From all this infromation, we’re meant ot believe that Garabaldi did mange to assemble a force by when Lyta returned, casuign the Telepath War. Since Psi Corp was dissolved Lyta may have gotten rid of Bester’s block. But we know JMS hadn’t originally intended that Garbaldi would have killed Bester immediatly.

As for other open arcs, and the above one, I have hope/faith that they will be clsoed and explained in the B5:Rangers saga. While it may not be a series yet, I think scifi will make it into one.

OT Bester is definatly one of my favorite characters in all of scifi.

Where did you get the idea that Uncon is going to be more like a star trek convention? Is it because of the rumors circulating that organization has already begun? I for one have a very strong feeling that Uncon 2002 will be very much like past uncons. I think that it will be more of a fan gathering then people buying gold and silver tickets to get in a hall with Brain Downey, Paul D et al. up on a stage talking about their experiences. Cast and crew interactions will probably be much like past years, in a bar over a beer. To be honest the only real differnce I forsee is there won’t be a tour of the Lexx sets, or possibly Electoropolis at all.

But posting six threads in a row devoted to one fanfic story is absolutely rude on that SciFi bboard. And telling them to go away is also rude and therefore out of the question.

I like the idea of a WorldCon, but theres one problem, we’re not all finishing Lexx at teh same time. It would work wonderfully if we all finished on the same day, but there also the problem of time zones. America watches Lexx at two times. Eastern/Central/Mountain and Pacific. Maybe we can all try soemthign after the last country see Yo Way Yo.’

But I agree themost with Flamegrape. The best part of uncon was meeting other Lexxians. Talking face to face, drinking, dancing and singing with fellow fans was the best part of Uncon for me. I don’t think an e-con could capture that feeling.

I think Uncon 02 would be a perfect time/place for a sendoff party.

I must have asked that same question a couple dozen times at uncon. The only answer I ever got was APEC stand for All Powerful Estrogen Cloud. Appartenly they “supply to estrogen to the dead guy” whatever that means.
As far as I can figure they are a group of people who write fan fictions. Some of their stories involve their own personal Kais. It seems like some kind of RPG to me. For the most part scifi.com’s board is dominated by OPEC members, and members of other related groups called ORAL and another group that escapes my mind right now.
Recently the scifi.com board has had a lot of infighting, pointless topics, and fan fics; so I’ve been devoting most of my reading/posting to the Sadboard. IMHO is the best Lexx BB, with a rich diverse group of posters.

I try to stay out of board-politics so I’m not entirely sure what all the fighting is about. For me the boards are for discussing our ideas, opionions, q/a about the show.

All but the last few of lines is what I know to the best of my knowledge, other will more then likely know more about the topic.

I’d have to agree with you on Tunnels. With the exception of the few scenes of Kai with the Commision, it seemed like it was a bad extension of K Town.
I thought than Stan Down was just digusting horrible, it was long, boring and basically done in poor taste. The Rock also seemed like a waste of an episode for me.

Planets are big! To destory one would require a whole lot of energy. You may have heard that we have enough nuclear weapons to blow up the world a few times, this is false. In reality the energy from all our nukes still doesn’t match the energy in a hurricane.
A particle accelerator takes very small pieces of matter, usually things smaller then atoms, or very small atoms, and speeds them up. Everythign has something called charge. Electrons are said to be negativly charged, protons are positively charged. Much like magnets, opposites attract, alikes repel. In a particle accelerator, an opposite charge is “placed in front” of the particle, and a like charge is behind it, this makes the particle move foward at a faster speed. This process is repeated a few trillion times uinitlt he particle is moving just under the speed of light.
An anti particle is simular to a normal particles except all of its qualities are reversed. Charge and a few others that aren’t revelent to this topic. When a particle and an anti particle meet, they annihlate each other. Kinda like what happend when to rival gangs meet. When the two particles are destroyed, pure energy in the form of light is released.
Taus and muons are hyped up versions of normal particles. Think of them as soilders on speed. There bigger, and faster, but they still have the same charge.
Gravity works like this: the more mass you have in an area the more gravity you’ll have. If we destroy some of the planets mass, ther will be less gravity holding it together. Imagine trying to glue together two 4×4’s with a 2nd grader glue stick, then drive the two trucks away from each other. gravity is like the glue stick, more gravity would be like welding the trucks together.
One last thing (I couldn’t figure out where to put this) whent he particels hit a planets its like a shot gun hitting a wall, except the shotgun keep shooting till the wall is less then swiss cheese.

    hope this helps.

Part of me kinda hopes that they won’t show Bad Carrot. Did I just type that? If this is the last season then having one last “new epsiode” when the s4 dvds comes out will be a nice treat.

Let’s see 1 s2 dvd, 4 s3 dvds, 4.12 so 12/4= 3 s4 dvds makes 8 dvds to go. At 1 new dvd every other month means 16 months. The next dvd is in late January, so that means roughly late March 2003 will be the bad carrot DVD. Okay so it’ll be roughly an 10 month wait for a new ep after the expected finale.

While the Friday night programming makes perfect sense(bundling it together with other attractive sci-fi series), the Sunday 2am EST has always puzzled myself and others. It doesn’t seem like the show would attract any new viewers at that time, but is there something special about that time that works so well for Lexx?”

    And of course:
“Will we ever have the pleasure of a Lexx “Chain Reaction” down the line?”
    and
“What is the future of Lexx after the series finale?”
    and
“Why do you hate Lexx so much?”

    roflmao!

I’m goign to try to see the interview, but with it being Fall break, I may be out partying and forget to. Hopfully I’ll remember and I’ll pester the moderator. If we all try hard enough, s/he may post at least one question.

I’m afraid this may be true. The beans have siad that this will be the last season but Brian said that enough fan support may lead to new Lexx. Doffy posted on scifi.com that Brian said that he would contact us when the time is right. As far as scifi is concerned, we know that they picked up Stargate SG-1, and have plans for a a possible B5: Legend of the Rangers series. This means that two shows have to go, I-man and First Wave. If scifi has something else up their sleave, Lexx is next to go. Seeing as how Farscape (they’ve ran that into the ground and renewed it 2 seasons) gets about 1.4, The Chronicle and Outer Limits get about 1.2, Lexx sees 1.1. But maybe the gerbils will make another night of Prime, and the beans decide to continue, then Lexx may be kept.

It’s okay, I didn’t take ay offense to your earlier post. I thought its was funny, that was prety muchthe same reaction I get from most of my friends and family when they ask what I did in school recently. Some make their eyes reall big and blink twice, another one stares into open space then bangs her head. For the most part they all just ask now, “how was your day?”
If you want I can try to put up an english translation of my earlier post.

Was this done for new viewers or did I just watch too many of the reruns on tape before seeing this episode? /QUOTE] I think that they were reintroducing everyone for the new viewers. They also did soemthign like this in 2.01 Mantrid.
But when your think about it, they tell us every episode Kai is an assasin, Stan is the Captian and Xev is a love slave cluster lizard.

they showed bad carrot which will never be shown in its entirety in the states because of sheer over the top anal humor and weird sex innuendos

So bad Carrot will be shown in the US? Doffy posted on the SciFi.com board that were not going to see that ep at all!

Monday is a weird day. I’m on mountain time so things start for me at 5am, plus tapes will run out on me sometime during Statics.
So instead I’m going to wait until November when they show Crusade Mon-Thur 7e/p. Yes they’re puttign B5 on hold for that month.
