Zev getting more votes than Xev??? This is just… wrong.
Xev. For lots of reasons I can’t be bothered to post (again).
Personally I thought she looked a lot better with red hair… Why they decided she should stick with the straggly brown/blonde hair all the way through series 3 and 4 I don’t know…
I did think about putting a spoiler warning… But I know that us UK residents have been avoiding finding out what the ending was for the last three years – with any number of spoiler-filled posts on these boards.
Now that the last episode has been shown on terrestrial in the UK I’d guess everyone who’d want to see it has seen it…
If not, they shouldn’t be reading a thread with such an obvious ‘The end of Lexx’ type title.Romboy speaks the truth. Great last episode and series, IMHO. Can’t remember ever feeling emotional about the end of a TV show before – Deaths of Lexx and Kai got to me… Stan should have volunteered to blow up the asteroid – would have been out of character though, I know.
Woe is me! Just hope Lexx inspires someone to make something anywhere near as good. 😥
I liked it! The more like series 2 the better if you ask me. The characters were a convincing bunch of american nasty pieces of work duly killed at the end with a cool weapon I’d entirely forgotten about! I enjoyed the fact that the ‘kids’ were a right bunch of manipulative self-serving bastards… hard to remember characters so entirely unlikable and worthless… nice to see people die who really deserved it for a change! 😮
What’s all this about ’rounds’? And all the stuff about ‘squares covered’? Your notation looks very strange to me too… as I said in the other thread, I’ve played a lot of chess (inc. at international level 🙂 ) and I’ve never heard a game of chess being discussed like this. Is this standard stuff for chess in America? I’m posting from England, FYI.
Thanks to the guy for finding which game this is – the online database I was using to look up games seems to have sunk without a trace.
I’m surprised this game was played between two such famous players… I didn’t think this was a particularly high quality game, but I appreciate standards were much lower back then.
Just watched ‘The Game’ – loved it… Being a SadGeezer in more ways than one I’ve played a lot of chess and really enjoyed the idea of a chess-based episode. Of course, I imagine that for people who’ve never played it was a load of incomprehensible rubbish!

{Black mates} 0-1Certainly an interesting game but not a great one… Prince and Kai seemed to play much better in their unfinished game from earlier in the series… even though they played most of the moves in that game in a few seconds at the end of the episode.
Prince’s 3. Qe2, 9. Bd3 and 30. Ka1 look like mistakes to me. Prince seems to miss a few chances to win at the end, too… Not what you’d expect from a guy who’s supposed to have won every game he’s played. Kai’s opening *is* bad, as the pieces were saying. 5… Ne7 was too defensive and he’s lucky not to get pushed off the board.
Anyway, another cool episode! Series 4 is great! Don’t know what everyone’s complaining about! 🙂
You really are very good at this… You should make a living from it… somehow.
Didn’t miss the main characters at all… but the characters in twilight are some of the best that the crew of the Lexx have met.
I haven’t read a lot of fanfic – but yours is the best stuff I’ve seen…Very impressive… convincingly in the style of Lexx, but more… interesting 😉
I’d have liked to have had more of Stan, Xev and Kai in it, but the new characters work well too. Brizon was a cool character to have come back. Hope you get round to the ‘Twilight’ based story… thought that was a cool ep with quality characters.I have Series 4 on Region 2 DVD! I’ve been recording it off the telly onto pooter, then disc. Quality = not perfect, but good enough for me.
Red Dwarf > Lexx
Well, series 3,4,5 and 6 anyway. Really *don’t* like series seven and eight – CG has never been funny… as evidenced by the awful Co-op bees + sheep (apologies to non-UK readers).
Red Dwarf, Lexx and Futurama are the only programmes I like on this site… Babylon 5? Dull… Farscape? Arse. HHGTTG? Like Red Dwarf only worse in every possible way.
Off topic? Sorry… Arnold is much better than Ace. 🙂
Series 4 is kicking arse so far… Maybe even on a par with Series 2… way better than Series 3. Of course, I’ve noticed SadGeezer reckons it gets worse from here on in, but – half a good series is better than a whole dull one (S3).
Really enjoying all the cameos by English actors in this series. Craig Charles, Hattie Hayridge, the guy who plays Father Jack… ‘Uther’ in ‘Magic Baby’ is Darryl from Birds of a Feather… ‘Van Helsing looked familiar from stuff too… all just adds to the fun.
Oh crap, Xev just died… not for the first (or last) time though I should think.
Brigadoom is *great*… but I’m going to have to put in second behind…

A fairly typical Lexx episode, you might say – but just done better than the rest, IMHO. Probably the funniest episode, too… 790’s chat show was hilarious 😆
s1: Haven’t seen these for *Ages*… so… can’t remember specifics… thought they were all pretty cool though.
s2: A great series… many cool eps. My Favourites: Lafftrak, Nook, Twilight, Brigadoom, The End of the Universe
s3: Disappointing all the way through… didn’t like the limited number of characters and the way the story didn’t seem to be progressing for episodes at a time. Heaven&Hell ended the series, so I suppose that was my favourite.
s4: Haven’t seen it yet! Except TexxLexx… looking at the reviews seems to involve lots of freaks and strangeness though! Looking forward to it!
