I’m going to have to ditch this model and rebuild it. I’ve just been told that it has 3 times too many polygons.
I’ll hang onto this model for the future when computers are powerful enough to handle them.

You should mention that over at Lexx.Com. They are going nuts! Alot of talk about emailing SciFi.Com, etc. You’d be the best one to tell them, theFrey.

Earth fall down go BOOM!
What did I tell you? I knew Earth was doomed from the first episode of this season! ROFL!And the Higgs-Bosen weighs:
13131313131313
(Was that the right number of 13’s?)So Lexx did make a new, special friend in Dutch Treat! Li’l’ Lexx! ROFL! Maybe Lexx’s baby will sprout wings! Did you notice the cute lantern thing that hangs over his head? I wonder how big it is? Maybe Li’l’ Lexx is… a she?
That was a great way for Kai to go! “He done blowed hisself up!” Bravo.
The fate of the human race is in the hands of Stan & Xev! Heeheeheeheehee! It was left wide open for another season. Prince would make a wonderful “replacement” for Kai. 790 would still be around, I don’t think that Li’l’ Lexx ate him.
No cycle of time nonesense, just like I thought. But people are going to argue about it still.
I LOVE THIS SHOW!
STAN IS THE MAN!
MORE XEV, PLEASE!

I’m concerned about her face. Does she look close enough? It’s impossible to make her look EXACTLY like her. Remember that this is a videogame using simple polygons.
( Is her butt curvey enough for you, Tony? )

ParticipantWell, whatever. If you like Disney films, etc., Then have fun at Disney Land/World. I just think their whole franchise is lame. And I laughed with glee when the Lexx blew it up.

I loathe most all Disney films with few exception. They’re working their way through all the fairy tales and twisting them. The cutsey crap makes me sick. Etc., etc.,
Several years ago I heard that assualts and rapes that occured in Disneyland went unreported and unpunished because they didn’t want people to know that anything horrible happened there. Maybe that situation has changed. I don’t care, I’m still not going. Driving through the half-dozen expensive toll booths just to get from one part of the state to another was enough for me.
There is something about Disney that is a big lie. And oh yeah. None of their cartoons are funny.

Was it done in Poser?
On closer examination, you’re right. After double-checking with my model sheet, I noticed that the hips needed to be wider and the thighs bigger. I got so involved with constructing the costume that I ignored that vital detail. Thanxx.
While in art school, my art history teacher put forth the idea that the fashion industry may be inherently screwed up. It might be the case that all these high fashions are designed by homosexual men that secretly hate women. Hence the toothpick-thin supermodels that actually look like little boys in drag. But actually the truth is more practical. It’s easier to hang cloth on objects that are of a generic skinny manequin, hence the standardized figure of the supermodel. Unfortunately, these designs can’t be sold to most women on the planet. It’s also similar to the reason why Barbie dolls are unreasonably thin: it’s easy for little girls to change Barbie’s clothes.
And no, I didn’t use Poser. There was one person (Elfie, I think her name was) who was working on a Xev model in Poser, but I don’t know what happened to her. We were going to collaborate, but I never heard from her again.
I built the geometry from scratch in 3d Studio Max. I usually start out with cylinder meshes and work from there. That helps explain her initially featureless figure. Male figures are basically cylindrical and females are usually “hourglass-shaped”. (But, of course, there are the usual exceptions.)
I may be able to use the costume I built in 3d Studio Max with Poser. In fact, I got a copy of Poser Pro but I have yet to really play with it.

ParticipantWith all due respect, I think that’s one of the dumbest ideas. Sci-fi fans are usually NOT from the upper classes. It’s yet another way of txing the poor. We have too many taxes.
Why don’t we tax people who buy dumb-ass bubble-gum pop music? That would rake in more dough.

Once again I must turn to my 8″x10″ glossy photos with the circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one to be used as evidence… well, there’s no arrows but I got the circle:

The debate rages on. Does she wear these fawn-back pattern panties all the time? Is it the canon pair? Or does she wear the black pair or white pair that have been seen infrequently in the past? Or, as has been stated by Xev herself, does she wear no underwear at all? Where is Lex, Paul, or Jeff when we have a real question to ask them?
I would favor the no-underwear position in this on-going arguement. But then this raises an entirely new question! What color is her… (or should I go there?)

ParticipantThat’s a good point. But if you’ll notice that during season 2, Xev’s lizardskin lederhosen coveres more of her body. It doesn’t show off her figure as much as in later seasons. In 3.01 Fire & Water, she strips off a few segments of her outfit. After that, you can see her belly and more of her upper arms.
However, there are some curious photos of her with short red hair and wearing her season 3-4 costume:

But I’m still working on the model:

That hope of an epic climax is vanishing like a puddle of jelassa berry juice poured on the red-hot frontal lobes of a cluster-lizard lady in estrus.

Sorry to disappoint you but I have absolutely no connection to the SciFi Channel.
But if you got an email from SciFi.Com saying that the ending will be nothing like anyone expects, then it must be so. In your “Predictions, Please” thread, I made the cynical prediction that there will be plenty of fans who will be disappointed with the final episodes. There will be rants consisting of, “That was stupid!” or whatever. I believe there will be no culmination of epic plotlines– because there aren’t any. It’s just a fun space-fantasy show. No one should take it seriously.

Participant(I posted this message elsewhere but I thought it was worth repeating here…)
The part of the episode with Xev and the monks didn’t make much sense to me at first. I was wondering when Lyekkazilla was going to appear and eat Japaneseland?
Then it occured to me that the cult was a comment about us, the fans! We all knew that this would be the last season. Therefore, we expect grand things at the end, a culmination of “epic” plot lines, little-blue-planet-shaking revelations, the cycle of time coming full circle, etc., etc. The monk on the beach, deep in meditation with the promise of zen wisdom, is kind of like what we fans expect at the end of this series. But nope, the monk was just sleeping because of the horrific effects of prosthetic organ implants! I think this foreshadows the final episode. It won’t be what most of us will expect.
Nonetheless, I thought it was a great Xev episode. Will she ever find happiness? And chalk one up for Stan. He didn’t capitulate instantly to his base desires. He was indecisive, trying to do the right thing.

ParticipantThis was a good Xev episode! I think the whole bit with the organ-donor monks was a nod towards Xev’s “past life” when she was about to be fed to the organ bank in IWHS.
Also, it was a pivotal episode for Stan. At the beginning of the series, he might have fallen for Lyekka’s trickery. That was what he did in Lyekka’s premier episode of the same name. But now Stan continually questioned whether or not is was right to agree with her. Maybe he unknowingly distracted Lyekka long enough for Kai to do the damage.
It was hilarious when Kai crawled out of her nose. It would have been even better if Xev landed on one of her boobs to pick him up! In any case, it was a great ending for Lyekka.
The special effects in this episode were superb! The blue tinting of the atmospheric coloring of large objects in the distance was perfect.
The goofy-looking laser that popped out of the top of the asteroid was perfect! It was like something out of Mars Attacks!
Flamegrape

Lexx is not a long narrative poem in elevated style recounting the deeds of a hero. Nor is it a work of art that resembles or suggests an epic. Nor is it a series of events that form a proper subject of an epic.
It’s not all about Kai, the hero. And every time it deviates from the epic that you want, you guys criticise it. Every time it strays from the path of “the story”, you brand the episode as useless, annoying filler.
It’s much closer to the Flash Gordon serials than the Odyssey. If you think it’s an epic, you take it much too seriously. Just because it has a hero, bad guys, and occasional battles doesn’t it qualify it as an epic.
Here are two other items that you forgot:
Stan.
A worthless nobody who is suddenly given control of the most powerful weapon in the universe. His selfish mistakes and failures became amplified because of his new situation. He just wants to do the right thing, but he always gets into trouble.
Xev.
A naive ugly girl, raised in a box without knowledge of any real social skills, is transformed into a beautiful woman with super-human strength. But the irony is that she can never find romantic satisfaction and happiness always eludes her. Motivated by her increased libido, she frequently gets into trouble with those she encounters.
The plight of these two characters are frequently overlooked by fans who only focus on the hero, Kai, and his tragic story. But Stan and Xev are just as important.

I just wanted to remind you of our lessons learned in Vietnam. The Viet Cong fought the war in very unconventional ways. They frequently resorted to terrorism, bombing places, killing Vietnamese civilians… not just fighting soldiers on the battlefield.
But it’s worth noting that our modern militaries learned the Vietnam lesson well. Our commandos are trained to prosecute warfare in unconventional ways. In ways that are sometimes secret and denied in public.
It’s also worth noting that unconventional warfare helped win the American Revolution. That is to say, “unconventional” for the time period.
I’m going out on a limb, but… maybe terrorism is that area of injustice between violent crime and war?
Rest assured that the perpetrators of terrorism are being pursued. More than likely, they will be dealt with by whatever means possible.
As I recall, Black September (the people responsible for the Munich Olympics incident) was dealt with in a vigilanti manner by the Isralis. (I’ll have to check my history on that one…)
So vigilanti justics is not ideal. And certainly a highly organized military campaign isn’t the best solution either. It’s a new bloody path we follow, me thinks.

I really don’t think that’s the case. It woundn’t make much sense for them to spend that extra money and go to that extra trouble for a scene that is not really R-rated.
I recall the sex scene Patricia Tallman did for Babylon 5. Although only shot from behind, she really did get topless for the cast and crew.
It’s not that big of a deal for actors. Backstage in a theater, you commonly have half-dressed people scrambling to put on their costumes for the next scene. But it’s a big deal if they do R-rated skin shots for the public.
