You can send them to me for right now. After we decide what (if any 😀 ) that sad wants, I will pop them up in his own sadgeezer store or just transfer them to him…. I think I remember where I stashed my server password. 😀

Actually, I don’t. Maurice has been requested several times, by several mods, both through private emails and various posts, not to turn unrelated threads into advertisements for his website or soap boxes for his cause of the week.

Which is why I originally took his post from the Lexx Convention forum and moved it here. Had it not been there, I would not have noticed or responded to it at all.

Maurice, did apologize for forgetting, again, not to turn threads and so here we all are until the next occurence. 🙂

Some of these will need redone, since Sad lost the high res originals.

    Sure, no problem.

Missing the shirt!!!! 😯 My darling, why did you not say something when it didn’t arrive? I purge my postoffice insurance receipts after six months or so. Otherwise they would take over the house.

hummmm, let me think on this. I am sure we can come up with something.

Ajax, print on demand books are very expensive. Not counting the work of formatting, final editing and styling.

I recently printed a POD of one of my favorite online stories for myself and a few friends. For 350ish pages it cost 18.00 for a soft cover 5 x 8, say 4.00 for shipping and tracking. So figure 22.00 for a relatively small book. That is cost alone. The price for a hard backed book is most likely quadrupled.

Now valdron has a book for each season. So it would be 22.00 cost x 4 and that is nothing for the Author.

POD books are great to get what you want, but they are not cheap.

Nope, this site was a bastion of Cult Scifi when I arrived three or four years ago. It was then, and is now, the definitive Lexx site due to the efforts of many Lexxians including the head ones Tony and New Kate.

This site has many forums and I would like the cult Sci-fi ones to stay on topic as much as possible. A lot of people come here to talk about and check up on their favorite shows. For some of us, this is a break from RL where we can kick back and relax.

Well lots of actors do voice overs, so that is definately a possibility.

And, hopefully, no one would go to a play being done by an actor and scream “Spock!!!” 🙂 Or, whatever ;D

Welcome to our happy little group Scaletrix. 🙂

Actually, I manage to ignore him fairly well for months on end, and only notice him at all when he attempts to twist an unrelated thread to his own agenda. Oh, or sends me an email offering me media accreditation. Now I must admit, that was a bit suprising since I would think it was apparent that I wish nothing to do with his crusade.

I myself am into activism, spend many hours, evenings and days a month working on it and indeed have a whole website devoted towards it. But, as committed as I am to it, I do not attempt to beat everyone *here* over the head with it, since this is neither the time nor the place.

Last I looked, this was a Cult SciFi board. I have no objections to people wanting to save the world. I just wish they would do it without posting off topic. 😉

Yes, I imagine you did. 😆
I don’t know what “poorly laid out web pages” have to do with accreditations, but the fortressoffreedom web pages are simple so as to load on any computer from 386 up the the most advanced wireless handheld or phone with internet capability. Poorly laid out has to do with the slap dash way the whole thing is being done, which I would extend to your offering to give *accreditation* to others. As I mentioned earlier, you have no depth of background in the realm of journalism, and therefore your offer to extend this recognition to others is frankly a joke.

Oh, and it is possible to do web pages that work on mulitple platforms without them looking the way yours do on every single system. But again, that would take effort and dedication.
A “global citizen” does not need any accreditation to be a journalist – it is their right as a citizen (and certainly not from the government)
No, he does not have his own website.

No certain theatre that anyone has heard of, but he was briefly mentioned in a play in Canada last year. Unfortunately, before the show opened, he was no longer listed as a cast member.

Last I heard, several weeks ago, he was still in Toronto.

So there is still hope springing eternal that he might be in some future Canadian production. 🙂

Very nice Maurice, you are catholic. So am I, big whoop. I looked through FX’s post and saw no where that she indicated that you were not.

She stated her wish that they be inconvenienced the same as she was, and also her wish that you spend some time bleating at them to moderate their very visible antisocial behavior instead of beating us over the head with it all the time.

Oh and final point, FX is not a global citizen, she is an American citizen, and a good one at that. She is in a job that is socially needed, she is productive, she is politically active ect….

Apparently a good global citizen is required to offer bogus media accreditation to people who just happen to have some minor writing skills and an active email address? : ) Get a clue.

You need something more than a poorly laid out web page to be able to give out accreditations. Now, should you wish to spend several years gathering writers, who do insightful pieces that are held to the highest standards of journalism that would be a start. Then you could gather a following that includes some real journalist leaders, and only then would you may be in a position to join an accredited writing group and offer media accreditation to your contributors. Right now? You are just a fruit loop with a printer and your accreditation is not worth the paper it is printed on.

And your objections to the finger printing and picture policy has what to do with Dragon Con?

While I don’t know or care about your *potential* problems with the border partrol, I will point out to you that the finger printing and picture taking are not limited to visitors to this fair land. Many, many banks also do this to fight fraud (v. annoying since I doubt very much if it is ever used until AFTER the fact) and even some stores are starting it, when you make a v. large purchase using a credit card.
just been reading the message board and wondering still, what the date is for DragonCon2004. I would really enjoy going this year if work permits .
Well I will tell you the two years I have been to DragonCon have been a total blast. With of course last year being just wonderful.

As Jehvz told you this DC 2004 is taking place Friday, September 3th through Monday Sept. 6th, 2004 in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Most of the information you need has been gathered here. http://www.thefrey.com/UsCon.htm

The main hotels are the Hyatt and the marriott, which are a bit pricy, but there are other overflow hotels of course which will have convention shuttle service to the main venue. How convenient this shuttle service is, I have no idea. Perhaps someone can give us the low down on it. 😀

The Hyatt is the party hotel where the forums are held during the day and the best people watching takes place at night. The Marriott is the nicer hotel and all the Vendor/Exhibition/Guest stuff occurs at.

I have stayed at both, and will be staying this year again at the Marriott. It was very convenient during the day. They have a convention rate for both hotels of about 145.00 a night, BUT you have to reserve by phone, their web sites don’t have the DragonCon discount programmed in. At least they didn’t last year.

Last year the we had a free fan table in the marriott lobby, and that seemed to work out pretty good. It gave us Lexxian ‘geezers somewhere to congregate and also seemed to become a depository for stuff the people who were hoteled off site did not want to carry all day. 😀 Hummm, perhaps we should look into renting locker space under our table. 😀 Might be a good way to raise funds for other Lexx activities. 😉 Naw, but it is a nice place to rest and chat and get to know your lexx buddies during the day.

Many thanks to iStan who is just got another 11 tickets from the Lexx Raffle Fund 2003. Only 195 tickets left to go and then I can start to concentrate on 2004! 😆

Well Santa was very good to me, but then I was, as always on the good list.

Possibly the nicest thing I got was not mine. TheSpouse got a new laptop. and since I knew he would get bored with it in six months, I decided to step up and get him a nice Sony. ;D

My lamest thing? A highly scented candle was amongst the stuff I received from theFather, why I have no clue. He knows I will not leave a naked flame unatendend even for a minute…. and I have perfume alergies. But it does look pretty, and has a lid to seal in all that nasty perfume. ;D

The Best thing I * actually * got was a power point presentation from theLittlestNeice in Uk- land.

There were of course many other pressies from theFather, thespouse, theFamily and theCo-workers, so you could say a good haul was had by one and all.

Thebrother was particularly pleased when theFather and I bought him a plane ticket for DraconCon 2004 and theSpouse bought him his convention ticket.

If the only thing keeping you interested in the show is the “what happens next” you aren’t that in to it. What about after you see that ep? Does that mean you will never watch it again?

I read all of Tony’s reviews before I saw 70 percent of Lexx. Didn’t make a dent in my enjoyment. After all, most of use know at least the plot lines of all the Bard’s stuff and we still go see movies and plays of his work.

Anzac Day is held on 25 April each year to commemorate Australians and New Zealanders killed in war and to honour returned servicemen and women. The ceremony itself has been continually adapted to the times, but has also steadily acquired extra layers of symbolism and meaning.

Origins – ANZAC is the acronym for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, the formation created in December 1914 by grouping the Australian Imperial Force and New Zealand Expeditionary Force stationed in Egypt under the command of Lieutenant-General William Birdwood. Initially the term ‘Australasian Corps’ had been mooted for this force, but there was a reluctance among both Australians and New Zealanders to lose their separate identities completely.

And no, I did not know this off the top of my head. ;D Isn’t the internet wonderful?
