It was a pretty good movie.

So good in fact.  I will most likely go see it again.  The last Disney movie I liked this much was The Littlest Mermaid.

Agreeded. Perhaps it is a good thing that he has lived so long. Apparently he needs the time to work thru his issues. WinkΒ

One would think that living long enough, one would eventually grow to understand what they are looking for in a spouse…. and how to avoid those little pot-hole of domestic discord like…. adultery. Even theSpouse wondered about that one. He said, "geeze, it’s not like the guy isn’t going to out live her. And even then, he will be young enough to get another looker."

MMM Twack. Um, what does that mean please?

Mister Michael McManus The wonderful actor characterizing Kai.

Funny you should ask, MMM Twack is my response to a vicious troll attack against another poster who had the nerve to use his last name with out an honorific. What were they thinking? It was pretty sad really. Calling him Michael would get you jumped (depending on who YOU were) for being too familiar, calling him McManus was declared to be addressing him like a servant or minion. On certain boards and with certain people you really could not win, no matter how you referred to him. So I decided to cover ALL the bases; formal, respectful, descriptive. No problem right?

Ummm, no. I ended up getting jumped on for satirizing the jumpees by being overly cautious. Some days ya just can’t win. πŸ˜€ Ah well.

Oh wait. That’s a song title.

One of the main things that an actor has to be able to do is network like a bad dog. Your best networkers are not moody or withdrawn, tendencies which MMM TWACK admits to in previous interviews.

Also, Mr. Donovan said that as a general rule directors/producers like to work with people they already know. Mainly, because it is easier for them. I imagine as an actor, this could be a problem if your main directors slow down, or move in a direction that doesn’t call for much talent usage.

Seriously, a lot of people shy away from commenting about anything concerning MMM Twack. Heck, just discussing his height opened posters up to Trolls and Flaming. God forbid you should discuss anything of substance. The world as we know it may come to an end. πŸ˜‰

I think we need a GWBush version of ‘Peter’s Evil Overlord List’

You know some simple bullet (ha) point list of things that GW has learned and the next Bush (Jeb?) can use so that his total domination of the world runs a little smoother.

Although I do think they could list one or two from the main list. Had Bush followed even these few, his domination plans would have gone much smoother.

It is kind of hard to pop a book in your pocket or purse or read it in bed if the freaking thing is a huge honking hunk-o-dead tree.

Also, concussing your sleepy customers with a 5lb slab of book can be dangerous. I have wacked my self in the head several times over the years by drifting off when reading in bed. Heck, Shogun nearly took me out permanently when it fell out of my hands.

If not a safety issue, perhaps they need to make it an environmental one. Think of all the trees they could save by not catering to some writer/editor ‘my books in hardback’ ego.

This space intentionally filled with sappy rambling text.

On this day of days, I of course like to reflect upon my blessings for the year.

TheSpouse made it thru his little broken leg incident okay.

TheBrother did not get fired for being a terminal irritation, but rather was promoted and given a raise. (go figure?!?)

TheFather and theFatherGF are both happy and healthy… even if they do open their presents way ahead of time, which means I have to send more of them. πŸ˜›

TheStepFather is doing well and really, really likes the boxes and boxes of heat patches I sent for his back. (the jury is still out on the microbead back warmer for bedtime)

TheMechanicEmployee passed relativity peacefully in his sleep after a very short time. Arrangements made, enabled him not to worry about his finances, both during and afterwards. We all appreciate the fact that it could have been much worse for him and his family. TheOtherEmployees are doing well.

TheFamily endured no drama this year. Let’s hear it for boredom!

TheFriends are all doing well, no drama there either.

Rover the Cat, Noche the Retired Warehouse Cat and theStupidSpouseDog are all doing well. TheSpouseDog Blaze is particularly spry after his operation this summer. Still round mind you, but spry. πŸ˜‰

Here is hoping that next year is as good, if not better.

Sadly for Santa (and theSpouse) I could not think of anything I wanted (outside of a winning lottery ticket) that I do not already have, or could not get if I wanted it.

Sucks…. Warm nightgowns and fluffy comforters are about the extent of my wish list this year. Pathetic I know… usually my list comes with a set of specs at least a page long. ; πŸ˜€

I love the Norad site. πŸ˜€ When I was a kid the local radio station would announce when Santa had been spotted heading into the Ontario area of Canada. That was bedtime for those of us in Buffalo. I discovered the Norad site a few years ago, and have made a pest of myself announcing it in #Lexx on fef.net. πŸ˜€

Songs that match their seasons. Am I the only one who likes to have seasonal mood songs?

I guess I am not much of a spring person, since this is the one season I don’t automatically think of any certain song when I think about that season. But… if I do think about it a minute, I guess I would have to go with the Eurythmics and their song, Here Comes The Rain Again.

Summer – Luke Skywalker And Indiana Jones – Phil Pritchett. This one reminds me of being tossed out of the house in the summer time and thinking up the weirdest things to entertain our selves.

    Windows
    Real player file

Fall – Forever Autumn – Jeff Wayne

This is a perfect fall song. All of the visuals totally compliment the music and make me feel like it is a cool fall day with a hint on rain forecast for the evening.

    Windows Media file
    Real Player file

Winter – Hazy Shade Of Winter – The Bangles. You can’t really tell it from the sample here, but the lead in to the song, is so totally after Thanksgiving with snippletts of the salvation army kettle bells. The way they use to be, when real bell ringers did them, not as they are now with part time temps. ( I liked this song when Simon and garfunkle did it, but now… I can’t even listen to their version.)

    Well heck.

For the next show I want to talk about the Girl Genius Comic by Phil Foglio and his lovely wife. the Girl Genius’ tag line is it is an ongoing “gaslamp fantasy” story Girl Genius follows the career of Agatha Heterodyneβ€”a hapless student at Transylvania Polygnostic University who discovers that she has more going for her than she thought. Agatha Clay, discovers that she is a young Mad Scientist (or β€œSpark” to be polite.)

What is Gaslamp Fantasy you ask? According to theFoglio’s, it has influences that include Jules Verne and H. Rider Haggard. It is also called “steampunk.” It has big, clanking Victorian-style tech, old-fashioned clothes, Frankenstein monsters and airships. Lots and lots of airships. It’s not exactly magic. It’s not exactly science. It is a little of both, it’s Mad Science!

    *********Spoilers *****

Agatha is also the last of the famous Heterodyne familyβ€”beloved heroes who disappeared under mysterious circumstances many years ago. Her Father Bill, was one of the Heterodyne Boys. Her mother Lucrezia is the daughter of one of the most powerful villian’s of their day. But all have disappeared. Folk legend claims that they will someday return, but so far they haven’t managed it.

They left Agatha in the care of two constructs, Punch and Judy who raised her as their own. Until the Baron scooped her up by accident and took her to his flying ‘Hindenberg-like’ castle. They are currently running two tracks. The beginning of the story
