Hi Fellow Sci-Fi Fans,
On the morning of my birthday & having breakfast with my dad, I found out something about myself I didn’t know happened; here’s the story: when I was born, not only did I have fluid in my lungs, but my hips were folded inward as well as my front muscles overpowering the back muscles on both feet. The dr told my parents that they would have to separate my hips, in order for me to undergo surgeries; I had to wear a hip brace (with the bar across) for a period of time. 😯 I’m sure it was as painful for them to watch me go through this agony as much as it was for me going through it; when we arrived in Eureka/Arcata, the dr told my parents that my hips were as separated as they were gonna get & can now go through the surgeries. At 1st, I didn’t believe him, but then I realized ihow strong I’ve become, among other things; I then thanked him & went on a birthday trip that I’d never forget.
After taking pics of the fountain, we headed towards where my dad’s grandmother grew up, he spent his Summers & to our hotel; we travelled many roads & highways to get there, but once there, my dad showed us where his grandmother grew & he spent some of his Summers. When we stopped where we wouldn’t be in the way, my mom & I took lots of pics of Lake Simcoe; Lake Simcoe’s so big, that it would make Lake Tahoe an island. Beaverton is a little town, near Lake Simcoe, that time forgot &, according to my dad, didn’t improve much; we then stopped to walk around the town, stopped to get some things, then headed towards our hotel.
Once we got to our hotel, we checked in & rested a bit; our hotel’s called Best Western Couchiching Inn & is on an island in between Lake Couchiching (behind) & Lake Simcoe (front). We then went to a little cafe, near the hotel, to have dinner, then walked along a trail behind the hotel; we would’ve walked further along the trail, but it was getting dark, so we went inside. I also took pics of my parents standing infront of the hotel, before heading to Toronto; the hotel is in a little town of Orilla.

In Canada, possibly elsewhere, use the metric system; it’s a far better system than we use here in the states. There are many examples of their system & here’s some of them: hector – acre, liters – gallons, km – mph, celcius – farenheight. Ever since I came back, I’ve noticed the km/h more often as well as my speed; you’ve probably noticed on chats, when someone says, `It’s 25 degrees’; they’re talking about celcius, not farenheight. Here’s some math to help you convert celcius into farehneheight in chats; 25 -2;23 *2;46 +30=76 degrees farenheight.
Their money are somewhat simliar to ours ($5-100 or so, .01-.25), but is also very different; a $1 coin is known as a Looney & a $2 coin is known as a Tooney. Their paper money is coloured, depending on if it’s a $5, $10 or whatever; many of the coin-operated machines use both Looneys & Tooneys, but don’t use $5 bills. Queen Elizabeth is on the front & a Loon, elk or whatever is on the back.
Another difference is their channels are different from ours, but do carry some US channels; they have a channel equivalent to our Sci-Fi Channel called Space & has movies 2 weeks prior to ours. Since I’ve been back, there are 2 shows that I really miss; they are: `Breakfast News’, which has news, traffic & don’t act as goofy as the 1s I watch here & a channel that has weather up top, traffic (24/7) & news.
Whenever we went out to eat there, we found it expensive; so we found a grocery & picked up sandwiches, salads & stuff & ate it in our room. When we did eat out, we found that just for the 3 of us, it cost $70, including our 1st night when we ordered wine ($115); my favourite restaurants in Toronto are: the Swiss Clalet, ShopSys & the restaurant in the Crowne Plaza Hotel. When we weren’t eating out, we got things from the grocery nearby & ate in our room.
What the call ponds, here in the states call lakes; what they call streams, here in the states call rivers & so on. Their accents are so pretty & a lot of them are bi-linguel; most of them speak both French & English as we speak only English, here in the states. They are good, friendly people, good food, great atmosphere & has a lot going for it.

I’m glad you liked it so far & more will be after this post; we didn’t have time to go to the Maple Leafs Gardens, but there’s a picture of it in the NHL Hall of Fame. I took plenty of pics & hopefully you can help me out describing what you have there as oppose to here in the states.

I was disappointed in the 1st episode of the new season; I thought they could’ve done better & tried not to confuse the fans. Ok, I got confused during most of it, including when Trance returned; ok, may it’s just me, but I thought they left her in the other universe.

I’m back safe & sound in CA & just in the nick of time; if I had stayed over there a day later, I wouldn’t have gotten out of there. I wanted to let you know so you wouldn’t worry & so that you’d know I’m ok; it’ll only be a week, then it’s off to Toronto.
I had tons of fun there, met some really nice people, went to some really interesting panels & helped man the Lexx table; tomorrow I’ll download my pics on my computer & post them as soon as I can. When I wore my Keyeo costume (for daytime), it fell apart, so I used safety pins, till I got home & tack them down; but I had lots of complements on my wig & had pics taken when I wore my dressy Keyeo costume. 🙂 I also danced, went to some really interesting panels & listened to different kinds of music; later on, I’ll do a better write up on the fun I had & tell about 2 confirmations for next yr’s Dragon*Con.Lexxians Unite,

Wade! theBrother beseeches you to arrange a field trip on Friday evening early. When last he was in Atlanta on business he went to a place called Frank’s Famous Family Restaurant on Collinsworth Rd, in Palmetto. Apparently it was true love. He said the deserts are to die for. Apparently it is by a truck stop, but still quite popular for people looking for Italian and American comfort food.
I for one would like to see the Lexx Logo on the side of the van just one more time. 😆

😀 😆 8) I’m now finished with both Keyeo costumes; this morning, I added the last flower onto my blouse, using lavendar fabric paint. Now all I have to do is gently wash my costume & do any touch-ups before the convention.
I can’t wait to wear it around the convention on both 9/4 & 9/5; I wonder what you all will think of it.
I’ve turned in 1 film that’s being developed & will put them on my machine, manipulate them & add them to both the articles I’ve written & my Crafting Board; I’ll probably not get the other 1 developed till next yr, when I take pictures of my Alive Keyeo costumes I’ll be creating for next yr’s Dragon*Con.

I watched it the other day & found it fascinating; Michael’s turned grey, but looks good. I’m glad he’s keeping himself busy & still in the business; he probably keeps himself fit.
I really enjoyed the movie, even though, I couldn’t understand what anyone was saying; heck, I don’t speak German, but would love to learn their language.

I’m almost creating my dressy Keyeo costume; it was a challenge for me to do, but fun at the same time.
Last week, I added jewels on the buttons of my shiny black vest & used lavendar & glow-in-the-dark fabric paint to stick them on; then I added lavendar & navy blue flowers to my black pants, from waist to midway down the pant. I took pics of both & will get them developed as soon as I can.
This afternoon, I started adding navy blue flowers to the sleeves, both front & back & lavendar flowers around the collar. Tomorrow, I’ll turn it over & add somemore on the back; then next week, I’ll add some more lavendar flowers around the bottom. I’ll then be done with both Keyeo outfits.
All I may have to do is do some touch-ups before the convention, but that’s all; I can’t wait for you all to see them. I’ll keep you informed & let you know when I add more articles to my web site.

There’s been a change of plans from the original plan; what we were gonna do was stay in 1 hotel & go around Toronto, visit relatives & sightsee. What we’re planning to do instead, is stay a few days in Toronto & visit my dad’s aunt, then stay a few day in Orilla & visit with his cousin & go exploring, then stay a few more days in Downtown Toronto & sightsee & see what we want to see there, stay a couple nights in Niagra Falls, stay 1 night near the airport & fly home the next day. I like this better, because we don’t have to go through any traffic & we can take our time sightseeing, visiting his 93 yr old aunt & his cousin & have fun, fun, fun.
I’ll keep you all informed of our plans as the trip gets closer & closer; I’ll also be taking plenty of pics there.

Yesterday, I had to do some touch ups on my pants, then let it dry overnight; it wasn’t anything major, just had to make sure the unravelled lei & ribbon was secured, before working on my vest.
Today, I started adding some unravelled lei around the sleeveless area & added some sequins & other stuff; tomorrow, I’ll be adding some ribbon & somemore unravelled lei, then add a couple more stuff, then add the ribbon. I’ll take pictures of it, before adding the unravelled lei & ribbon on the bottom; sometime, either later this week or early next week, I’ll be working on the back; then I’ll be finished with my reversible vest.
By the last week of this month, I’ll be finished with both vests & start work on my dressy pants; I’ll keep you all informed of my costume’s progress & hope to see you all there.Lexxians Unite,

& if I get time (& it looks like I am), I’ll be making 2 braces to go along with my outfit; I’m also sure it will look just as good as I’ve envisioned it would be. I can’t wait to wear it & see what you all think of the final product; I’m almost finished adding the unravelled lei to my pants, then be adding some more ribbon & I’ll be done. & yes, I do have the crafting bug; & will be adding more pics on my board Friday, & as soon as I get my film developed. I’ll keep you informed of how my costume’s going.

I can easily make name tags & add photos on them; in fact, I can do that this Saturday, e-mail you a sample of what it would look like, then continue making them. I picked Xev sends a letter to Kirk because I think that would look good on a mug; also, because it would be funny to drink from a mug with that saying, since I’m both a Trekkie (long before it was called Trekker) & a Lexxian. It would be a great travel mug since I’ll be going to DC, Labour Day Weekend & be spending my 40th birthday in Toronto. I don’t care which colour the mug is, but it would be fun on a red, purple or pink mug.Lexxians Unite,

An update on my costume is, I’m almost finished adding the unraveledlei to midway down my pants; I’ll then take a couple pictures of that & start work on my reversible vest. I’ll also be getting started making my braces as soon as I’m finished with the holders; I’ll keep you informed as I’m making them.
I really believe I’m gonna work on the dressy dead Keyeo costume, before DC; I’ll keep you informed on how my costume’s coming along, including making my braces & my artciles.

Earlier today, I finished filling in the leaves, flowers & outlining the flowers, leaves & stems; on Wednesday, I’ll add some unravelled lei & ribbon to halfway down the pants, then let it dry. Afterwards, probably this weekend, I’ll start working on my reversible vest; I won’t be doing too much to it, except add some unravelled lei & some sequins on it. If I have time & it seems like I will, I’ll work on my dressy dead Keyeo costume; that way, I can wear that in the evenings. I’ll keep you all informed on how my costume’s going & hope to see you all there. 🙂Lexxians Unite,
