Oh DT, how on earth could you miss them. My brother and I were going through the Lexx tapes I has ‘aquired’ together, and I thought he was going to bust a gut when the watering cans showed up, he wondered aloud it they p*ssed or spit, gross humour to be sure, but no one had to hit him over the head with anything to pick up on the images. He watches Lexx occassionally, and checks out my web page all the time, and has several times *snerked* at various penis shaped things, including most recently the flashlight and Octrina in Walpurgis Night.

I have to confess though, Tony, that despite being a pedant and missing the point of your reviews, this person raises an interesting if belated concern. It should be stressed that you were amongst the first to publicly support (and chastise) the show, and deserve complete credit for your longstanding and hard work. However, as many pointed out to me in another thread, the sex ratio of Lexx fans has become disproprtionally female and/or gay over the years. There is even suggestion within the show of an increasing awareness of this ‘fact’ (assuming its true). If so, the unabashed hetrosexual element of your reviews may have become increasingly anachronistic, and threatens to alienate newer (as well as older?) Lexx fans. Even more of a concern is the possibiity that sci fi is no longer a male dominated and/or post adolescent province per se, assuming it ever was (which I doubt).
That is the only reason Sad keeps us around. While not as estrogen charged as some, I think that Fx, BlackCloud and myself do a pretty good job pointing out the Lexxian things of interest from the female perspective. I love your reviews Saddy, they are one of the reason’s I stayed here. And while I have pointed out the ocassion error, (it was bun head, *not* butt head) I am not god’s gift to proof readers either, so I forgive you your occassional lapse, and love you anyhow.

ParticipantThis is a Story that started several months ago as an Add-a-line game between myself and Jade, there were a few other peeps who added a sentence here in the first page, but they dropped out, and that part has since been revised by Jade. It started out as a kids fairy tale kind of thing and just mutated from there. At first each of us would do a few sentences, then a few paragraphs, until finally we were passing over pages at a time to each other. We are within a few pages of finishing it, so I thought I would start posting it, to perhaps give us that little umph to get us over the finish line. Enjoy.

ParticipantSorry ’bout that FX. hehe.
FX did have to help a bit on those though. I only took two suitcases with me, and only one had clothes in it, and it wasn’t the bigger one either!
Of course that is normally how I travel. Once case for me, one case for hostess gifty stuff. Comes in handy though, I always have an empty suit case for bringing home souvenirs.
Thank god I am not a slave to fashion, two cases and a carryon for my books and purse are about as much as I can keep track of when traveling.

ParticipantI would say leave it. They are ranting about the show. They have not dragged in any personal attacks of any kind in. They are suppose to become passionate about the show. The angst area original started for personal attacks and deliberately inflammatory posts. Such as, “I think this show suxs and u are all a bunch o big arsed losers for watching it!.” which is not to say that had it been posted on the angst area it would have been out of place. But it hasn’t passed the boundry of what is permitted on the board.

ParticipantSplarka don’t play, he will only warn you once. This might make him seem abrupt to some people, but the flip side is that he will try to help you anyway he can.
Even before we got #sadgeezer on fef.net, Splark set up #spoil for us when I asked if there wasn’t some where we could all go and chat after the episodes. When we moved to fef.net he helped me set up #sadgeezer and explained to me all the commands I needed to learn, talked to Rachel for us about the portal and helps at all the chats. We wouldn’t be able to have the chats at all if it hadn’t been for his help in the begining.

ParticipantWell since many people are posting on multiple boards I would like something that can migrate right back to the home board of said trouble maker. Which is why something simple would work best. It seems to me that having some way for the regular peeps, which is me on the other boards, to let the trolls know that they are being dismissed with out elevating anyone’s bloodpressure might help cool the flames all over Lexxdom. I think if enough peeps weighted in on a troll post in a dismissive way that didn’t let the troll feed off the angst that would be helpful.
But…. having said that, I still think that Sad’s idea of a gif (non-copyrighted) for the mod or administrator is a niffty idea. Something to use for those times when the transgression is great and a post has to be edited for extreme trollism, but you don’t want to ban the person. After all lots of people have issues, and it can happen that an otherwise normal poster could slip over the edge on a pet issue. An occassional transgression is trollish behavior, but doesnot necessarily make one a troll or require banishment.
Or to put it more breifly… I want both d*mn it

Participantactually, since last night I have had another thought (which puts me *way* over quota for this month) I thought rather than a gif for us to use, what about a smiley symbol that every one could use to defuse a troll.
When theSpouse is driving a topic into the ground (in a trollish way) I just smile and zone him out. He knows this and it just drives him crazy, because he knows I am totally tuning him out and refusing to get upset.
Perhaps we could use a symbol that signifies,
“Yes I see you, I disagree with you, but you are a *troll* beneath my notice and I am not going to waste any time on you.” After a while the blurb might not be necessary. Perhaps *** *** A zoned out smiley. What doth thou think, oh wise fellow moderators?theFrey

You are right about this. I have pondered long and hard on this topic, and even discussed it with theBrother. We have come to the conclusion that dispite his seeming intelligence in other areas, Stan has one problem that he cannot over come. Stan is every bit as enslaved by the writers of Salter Street as Kai was by His Divine Shadow. TV Guide Wrote: Joe and Max

This 2002 biopic recounts the two epic pre-WWII heavyweight bouts between American “Brown Bomber” Joe Louis and Hitler’s “Aryan Superman,” Max Schmeling. For acting honors it’s a draw between Leonard Roberts (Louis) and Til Schweiger (Schmeling), who go toe-to-toe in this cinematic slugfest. More than just a sports bio, the movie crosses political, racial and diplomatic lines as it illustrates how the two fighters were perceived in their respective countries. It also plays like a toned-down buddy film: Despite being dogged rivals in the ring, the men developed a lifelong friendship outside it. The made-for-cable film is rated PG-13 for strong language and violence.Cast: Til Schweiger, Leonard Roberts, Richard Roundtree, Peta Wilson, David Paymer, Siena Goines, Garland Whitt, Bruce Weitz, Paul Collins, Jurgen Schornagel, J.J. Actually, no. I was part of the 24/7 marathon in the weeks preceeding the start of season 4 to try and catch a glimpse of a Lexx Trailer. My god, people were taping Sci-fi and then fast forwarding through the tapes trying to catch a trailer. It was terrible. I did see several and have heard that when Season 4 part B started they were running a lot more promos, some of which were *not* even Friday Night Prime Promos which just happen to feature Lexx. Yeah!!! But lately? I haven’t seen as many, they seem to have died down again, so I am not sure what is happening now.

Yes that section where Bunny complains that she can’t watch this junk any more was the Henry 5 thing. This appears to be the Mud Crawling section that didnot make it to the eps. You really couldn’t see MM very well at all, after all he was covered in mud or something. However I noticed part of the Henry 5 set behind him, which is what cued me in to paying more attention.
As to Prince taking the key, I don’t think it will go to him, anymore than it will go to Kai. They are not alive in a way that the key will accept in its host apparently.

Really Fred, Caps? I had always thought you got your point across pretty well in the conventional manner. Sigh.
However, to address the On Topic portion of your little lapse, it is possible that stars could worry about a season taking them down with it. Why do you think so many bail when a show takes a southward turn? Do I think the Lexx crew think this? No, not really. For one thing for most of them it has been a good ride. We have heard that Mr. Downey would be glad to continue in some form or another. And while Mr. McManus has expressed reservations that Sci-fi in general, not Lexx in particular is not helpful to a persons career, I doubt if he would be much affected in the long run. For one thing, most of the stuff I have read about him, seems to indicate that he prefers live theater. And for another, it seems that Canadian actors seem to have quite a ‘network of friends’ thing going on for them. And when some of your friends are fairly important producers and writers, that has to help you when it comes to finding something else you want to do.

I would think there would have to be Prax, but I don’t think anyone would argue that the looks help. It is a shame that alot of actresses, no matter how good they are, have a tough time getting decent roles after they acheive a certain look. The b*tch there is many times not only are they still attractive and talented, but they are still passed over. Male actors on the other hand do not seem to suffer as badly as they age. And it is easier to get a decent role if you are a ‘talented’ good looking guy. Mr. Bennet seems to be doing quite well. So having your looks going for you would be a help in getting parts to move you out of the shadow of a ‘typecasted’ role.

True, but that seems to be a danger for many actors in an easily recognizable roll. From what I have noticed over the years, the ones who were truly worried about it, went out of their way to pick roles during their breaks and hiatus periods, that broadened and redefined them as actors. In fact one of the ones that comes immediately to mind is Neil Patrick Harris, who played Doogie Howser. Not only did he have to overcome the ‘Doogie’ sigma, but there was also the child actor who did not grow up to be particularly handsome thing going on there. He seems to have really dug in and tried many different types of roles on TV, and from what I understand is in a movie under production right now. Kai might be a tough act to follow, but at least MM still has his looks going for him.

Getting to hang with your buds and getting paid for it.
