Participantummm, Flame, we’ve move on to another topic. Please try to keep up.

ParticipantActually Flamegrape is not a moderator on this particular forum, but I am. And no, I don’t think Sad would like anyone baiting anyone. However bonnee , this is the kind of thing that happens when people start using multiple nicks to hide behind while posting. It is unfortunate that an innocent new poster who is unaware of the previous trespass has to get caught up in it. And this is one of the reasons that I am very much against such ill mannered behavior. If a person cannot post a view under their own name, perhaps it is a view that should not be shared. Oh, and posting on another system or from another location to hide your identity is not a great idea either, you would be amazed at the number of times cowardly posters are found out due to spelling, punctuation and grammar quirks that they use, but are unaware of. Not an accusation mind you, just an observation for all to be aware of.
Anyhow, back to the topic. I am not enamored with all of Season 4, but then I have not been enamored with every ep in the other seasons either. There were a few eps this season that I have simply loved, The Rock, Walpurgis Night and Vlad. A few that I have hated, Mort being at the tippy top of my personal hate list. The rest have had their moments. Do I think season 4 is going to ruin anyone’s career? No, they will triumph or fail based on their future choices and performances. I think Lexx has been a good ride for all of them. Even if it is only a quirky sci-fi cable show, it is a widely distributed cable show. So the name recognition factor has got to help. Are there downsides? I am sure there are, but like most things, negatives can be turned around if you approach them correctly. I look forward to seeing all of the cast in their future projects. Oh, speaking of which, don’t forget Rolf Kanies (Priest) is going to be on Starz March 9th in Joe and Max. ParticipantWell I did look at it, and it seems to be in the right place. It is cute, and if the oneliners make the thread too big, cut it off and start a part 2 for it.

ParticipantNone most likely. Are you looking for them for a costume?
If so you will most likely have to make them. Off the top of my head I can think of several ways to do it, but of course experimentation would be in order.
The easiest would involve three super sculpy sections epoxied to cloth. The best looking would involve an RTV rubber impression from a plaster mold.
Depends of course how authentic you want your outfit to look. Also the hand things and the shoulder/back straps are the same and should be done the same way.
Have I helped?

ParticipantNo they do not have a web site that I am aware of. The company is a fulfilment center for various other corporations, ie; Salter Street, Chrysler Promo whatever ect….
And yes, you are correct. When these are gone, they are gone. According to the lady I talked to.

ParticipantThanks dgre.
If she wanted to edit it she would just press on the little paper with a pencil to add more to her story and then post a reply noting the update. Which as I said will pop the thread to the top of the list.

ParticipantUmm, Flame, could you please post the instructions for putting thumbnails in a post?
Thanks
theFrey
ParticipantNaw, I got a bunch of them too. I like them being emailed *with* the post included. It will make it much easier to stay up on this stuff.

theFrey
ParticipantI thought it was suppose to have the new stuff on the top like the moderators forum does. Which ever way it is we need instructions and such rules as we had up ASAP!
theFrey
ParticipantOr indeed even here http://www.sadgeezer.com/lexx/interviews/jeff-1.htm
theFrey
ParticipantYo Sad, are they going to post the pic here? or just a url pointing towards it?
If they are going to post here, we need instructions and prefeered size guidelines ect…
theFrey
ParticipantYo! Hedge. When you post with just the title and no text in the message besides a *, you really should put a * at the end of the title to. That lets people know that there is no need to open that post.

Well rules are what makes games work. With out them you end up with a bunch of kids kicking and screaming that they should have the ball *right now!* I love game cheats as much as the next person, but playing a good game within the rules is what makes it interesting.
If a person is worried that something would push the rules, they could send it to a moderator, who could make a ruling, EMAIL IT TO ALL OTHER MODERATORS (so they will know it was submitted prior to posting), and then allow the post or suggest changes to make the post allowable. Posting stuff you know is in the iffy zone should be strongly discouraged.
IMHO, most peeps play by the rules, only bending them occassionally. It is really only a few that you have to twack for their absolute disreguard of the rules. Twack them hard and early and you have less strife in the long run.

You may find that some of the posters prefer to post the stories on their own sites and simply place links here. Others will want to copy large portions on a new thread and hope for comments underneath.
Both are ok with me, I’v never really tested SadBOAD with HUGE posts and I am a little worried that some pages may be too big to load and blow the board up!! But I don’t think it should be too bad. The system we are using now is a lot more robust than the previous version.
Hummm, perhaps once the board is up, but before it is advertised we can get a few stories of decent length to test it with. also if they have a finite length, it will not be too bad to post part two further down in the thread. Use bold or something to say

Hummm, hard core and pointless gory violence that are integral to the story? I think that many of the things that happen in hard core/pointless gory violence can be aluded to with out actually dipping into that particular pool.

ParticipantStart it out with just Lexx and a just Lexx title. Something like ‘Fic from the Two Universes’ or something like that, and then if fic forums are added for other shows. Give them their own title and put them all under a SadWriters umbrella.
theFrey
ParticipantI am not sure where this fic thing is going, and I am not against erotica and soft porn being included in a story, but I do think that snuff/hard core/shocker porn stories are best avoided on a main stream board. Even if people click a permission button ect…
In the long run I do not think those topics are conductive to good story telling. It is easy to write hard core, harder to tell a well written main stream story. I would like to see the rules stop the crap at an adult level without wandering down the XXX alley.
theFrey
ParticipantSad what is the length allowed in a post?
Would it be possible for a person to post their story and then just use edit to add to it?
The posts below could then be used for feedback and to announce the update.
Just testing

ParticipantNo real people. All characters must be fictional.
And I have another one, but I will wait to talk to Degre about it first. I am sure it is already handled on other boards.

ParticipantWell I don’t think flooding will be a problem, because of the way this board is set up. All of the threads belonging to a story can be posted underneath it, and each new post kicks that topic to the top of the pile. The only reason they post them the way they do on someother sites it that a topic stays in the same location reguardless of how many, or how recently it was responded to. ParticipantPublic Service Announcement: Let me again remind everyone that this convention is more of a Lexx vacation or a glorified pub crawl if you will, and that there are no plans of trying to shanghi any cast to it. End Announcement.
Ahem… yes, and I am really behind in updating this thing! Sorry
The date chosen was Friday May 17th thru Sunday May 19th. This was announced originally at the end of December.
Last Friday after the Lexx Chat there was a short meeting to try and hash out the hotel room thing. The thinking being that it would make life easier for all concerned it we stayed at one or two hotels rather than scattered all over the place.
Three people showed up.
We tried, really tried to go off strip, but unfortunately everyone that showed up, (me, Auora and FX) wanted to stay in a new hotel on the strip. We were going to try the Golden Nugget, really, we were! Honest. I pretty much fussed the other two into agreeing, and when I told theSpouse he had a cow!
He has stayed several times in the older section and refused to take me there. He said he didn’t know what the golden nuggets rooms were like, but the casino was a dump. Or at least it was last time he was there. And unfortunately he was down on the whole ‘off strip’ thing. He has stayed there every time he has gone to Vegas, and he wasn’t agoing to do it again.
So Auora and I ended up booking at the MGM GrandTower, and I immagine FX will also if she can clear that week end. HK said he is also going to book at the MGM, Marty K being a more adventurous soul has mad his plane ressies but is waiting to see if he can catch the MGM running a special.
I looked in to HK’s suggestion of the Barbary Coast. Since a smaller hotel might be easier some. And it is just down the road. But again I ran into Spouse resistance, but it really isn’t his fault, we had a bad experience with a newly renovated hotel this summer that was a dump. Normally I would argue with the best of them, but he has been there before, and I have not. But it might make a nice choice for the Second Hotel as it is only a few blocks away and more reasonable.
I used http://www.worryfreevacations.com and got a pretty good deal with airfare included. But watch out for the airport surcharges!
email me when and where you are staying and I will post it on the UsCon Lexx Vegas Page, which I am working on, even as I type.
theFrey
ParticipantI think there should also be an ‘add a line’ game section. The only thing I think should be different on that is that if someone goes totally wacked and does someting like having the Grateful Dead show up and screw the story line up, or tries to put steamy sex in a story that was posted as being PG, then person who started the story and set down the guide lines, should be able to appeal to a moderator to get that post removed.
