BTW, Pet, how ’bout a yo way D’oh with a Dragon Con theme. Have a dragon or someone in a suit with Stan with his arm around him and a mug in one hand and the dragon lighting a cig for Kai; Xev can be conversing with a Storm Trooper and 790 with a straw sipping a brewski or a big spliff; okay it is a little extreme; but a fun t-shirt idear; not so formal. I’d wear it. The Giggy Pope can sip wine and be conversing with a Trekkie and Bunny in her American bikini with a Romulan.

DUCK!!!!Someone is going to throw punches!!!

Well, if you have to get down and dirty the angst forum is where to do it; stop it from entering other places.

I like what Rag has said; and is it not all too true. I’ve been an outsider all of my life for one reason or another first because of physical differences and now by choice. This “look at these weirdo” mentality; another way to sow difference and elitism in our culture; it’s not the way to go; the three poisons of greed, anger and stupidity run amok.
What if i were to tell you that i think what most people do for attention is weird; from women’s hair tossing and high pitched laughing to men’s flexing their muscles. Now most would say that’s acceptable; I think it’s a game, a ploy for attention, and strange.
I could conform (which means I’d have to grow my hair and take hair-tossing 101- hey a new Olympic sport) but that would mean I would give up some sense of self; and accept a mass way of thinking to a degree. I WON’T DO IT!!!!

I don’t think I ever mentioned this but I really like this Yo Way D’oh; it’s pretty hilarious. The X-mas one with the lights ROFL; 790 needs to have a socket on him.

Hell yeah, we could do our own thang as long as we kissed the ring and or any other part we need to kiss. Sanction, smanction if it’s done in good taste (ahh—sort of good taste- i know its Lexx and all)and they make some bucks what is the problem; so it buys Lex G a new baseball cap or Mr D some new flip flops; what’s the problem? I would like to see a 790 toaster cosy or even a toaster that alternates screaming “Kai” or “Xev” when your toast is done Or better it does lines while the bread is toasting and then moans its 2 loves; yeah that’s the ticket

I want to have a discussion with that push-me=pull-you llama animal in the original Dr. Doolittle. In case of arguements it would be 2 against 1 though and that would blow.

I don’t think I sound that much as a pessimist, but you are entitled to feel that way. Words and hopes are a good start (it beats a stick in the old eye) but that is all they are, unless they are backed up by action. Dreaming of a world like this, nice first step, “making it so”, different story.

But back to the topic at hand, sci-fi does hava a more hopeful quality; whereas reality based shows give us a made-for -TV reality. Personally, can’t stand reality shows and sometimes the sci-fi bores me to tears.

Oh., and BTW you don’t really know me FX and thus to call me a pessimist may be premature on your part. i know you probably wanted to defend Flame, but why is it that it is easy to jump on me but you praise others wholeheartedly. And you want to know why everyone lurks and no one posts; i got one word….. biased.

Whoa, Flame back the shuttlecraft up a little. No violence? What about Klingons? No disease; why are there so many shows that are based on fighting one disease or another?

We are not ready to colonize space yet; we can’t even agree on how to get this planet up and running right; IMHO if man individually and collectively cannot find a way to control himself we will just take the bad and good that is man right into space with him. That frightens me. It’s scary enough that they are doing a p—— contest with nukes and wmd’s!

BTW, I’ve got to give credit to the Beanesses and their supporting cast and crew for even attempting this last season.
Creatively, it must have been one hell of a struggle to do another season let alone 24 eps. Doing pretty much the same thing for all of that time, yeesh, hell for a creative person. What line was it in “Storm of the Century”, “Hell is repetition”; doing something over and over again until it feels like the movie “Groundhog’s Day”

These are highly talented and creative peeps with a lot going on even while making this show. I would surely have to have a lot of irons in the fire if I had the same old grind to do everyday; just to be sane and remain connected to the world.

You know it must be a mixed blessing; creativity in media today. It’s like economics really, trying to predict what the public wants yet to remain apart in order to pursue an independent course. I find that its all linked; the evolutionary process of the individual and the larger picture of what an individual does. I find myself asking what did you learn from the experience? If you did not, you missed the lesson and you may have to repeat it in another.

Mr. D; sir. Sorry there is a master plan; I hope you find it ——————-

I really wanted to stay out of this forum; but I do have to say something to support Trini T in the fact that it is changing; the fandom base I mean.

It seems this show seemed to have been a kind of fluke; something kicked around in the large buggy brain of the hallowed bean of PD. Networking as must happen if you are in the “BIZ” he probably sold it to some backer; pulled together some pals and came up with this show.

The popularity i think caught them by surprise, though I don’t understand that; Mr. D made quality work before; sooner or later he would have got mass appeal down right and already he knows how critics work at this particular time. What is that line; “keep your friends close,
but your enemies closer; yeah that dance with critics.

though I appreciate what founding LEXX fans have done for this show, there are still a few of us around that are not such as interested in the physicality of the actors of the show- which played a part to the appeal- but feel that there was a story to these tales of the parallel universes. Because there was 3 1/2 main characters and they worked hard to build them, to “flesh them out” the resolution of the conflict of just one character does not a complete story make.

Everybody knows(some turkey and some mistletoe) that a lot of the fans are drawn to the idea of Kai and the physique of MM as well as Ms. Seeburg. When he died, they went with him and stopped supporting and posting, etc… There was also the big conflict with season 2 to 3 and now #4.

I watched LEXX because it is not the same sci-fi drivel; it was not afraid to get down and dirty and pushed buttons. I don’t neccessarily agree with all of it but ya got to go with its it freshness.

And that’s why it ended because it’s a big amount of cash and it seems ideas were running thin.

They went out on there terms and I respect that; they did not milk LEXX for every penny nor did they milk us dry; (they let the dealers do that) which is something that should have been handled by pros a few years back; then fans and SS, AA everyone would have been happy campers and there would have been no deficit of a mill.

These are only my opinions; take or leave them; the show is done and hindsight is always the best.

    Peace

Actually, I prefer being “Pierce”-d by movies like The Thomas Crowne Affair which is Bond-like but more story, less gadgets and sorry guys, less gorgeous chicks.

Rene Russo is not a fave actress of mine but she was a good adversary for the ever suave Brosnan. IMHO, Brosnan is the runner up in Bond flicks; no one can match Sean Connery!

I am glad they are attempting to change a few things, but i think you are right about the financiers of most everything that has backing. my mind conjures up a room full of middle-aged men in suits with wives in historical societies and garden clubs and on the other hand young mistresses bleeding them dry. (I’m somewhat of a cynic too)

I’m a little surprised at what is considered fine acting anymore. Speaking of Halle Berry; I think she’s a good actress, not great, but good although Monster’s Ball did not impress me.
And Laura Croft, Tomb Raider was an okay flick if they would have developed Laura’s character some more and put in more shower scenes with that guy. Again, it came down to be geared for guys otherwise it would have had a little more work; a little more thought put into it.

It must be that i am in my hometown and the season is just right; I’ m listening to the Charlie Brown Christmas album. You know the best CB are right now; the Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas ones. Hey, A Nightmare Before Christmas won at Dragon Con as some of the greatest costumes! Actually, I’ll ask one of my many bros about it. He’s got me hooked on that Vice City game right now. The Tech channel calls it “The SIMS with a broken beer bottle” and that’s pretty close to the truth.

Emma Peel is close but not fully independent of the male influence.

I think there should be a forum on Lexx and women or you could call it How i Learned to be a Real Woman by watching Lexx. Okay, it is a weak spot for this show but I think for Sci-fi in general. Why are the old stereo-types still true; why can’t women be allowed to openly talk about sex like men without being branded a ho or something else.
It is my experience that the more you bury something the more people want to dig it up. That’s why underground anything or subcultures flourish.
And let’s face it folks; we are addicted to youth, beauty, and hedonism. Our society bases itself on all of this; anything new, shocks us (like real TV) we shell out the money to have.
Face it, we are being hosed by advertisers. They know us so well and play us like trout on a line

ROFL!!!!! At least you had brothers that listen to those stories; my brothers would rather cut the hair off my dolls. My brother Len took my prize Barbie doll (an older version which would be worth some cash now) and crewcut her hair; and threw away all of her clothes. I think he wanted her to be GI Barbie or something like that.
I had 4 brothers close to my age while I was growing up so keeping any dolls safe was an impossibility.

Then I met a guy who told me about traveling in Thailand and we had a conversation comparing clubbing here and there; he told me about the men dressed as women, etc… and how the cultures are very different.

    Well, another Boo day gone

Trini I don’t want to go to Toronto; I’ve already seen it. I want to go to new places, see new faces, so how ’bout Regina? I have to see a city that they insist on pronouncing like female anatomy. Speaking of sex and Canada, I don’t know, correct me if I’m wrong but do Canadians talk about sex alot? It seems to be quite pervasive in their culture. Just a question; don’t draw and quarter me yet. I know Americans are quite prudish in some ways.
You know what I’m enjoying right now is the show on Lifetime called the Sunday night or Saturday night Sex Show that’s on the Lifetime channel.
It’s a call-in show where a woman who looks like your grandmother gives Canadian callers sex advice; uses diagrams and little dolls. I
find it amusing at times especially when she recommends little tips to spice up your love life.

    Okay, I’m still a freak.

As before mentioned by someone speaking of free speech; The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand which so far I have found to be well written.
I may pick up that book tht the movie Abandon was based on for that movie was interesting. A lot films are playing with those washed color schenes; you know it’s color but not bright color; and as in A Beautiful Mind the main character delusions take center stage; but you don’t know that until the end. Well, you can figure that out relatively easy in the film but what made the film interesting is Katie Holmes. She has a presence in this film that instinct tells you to trust at times and at others you know there is something wrong with her. Bratt was okay as the cop; and the dead but reappearing boyfriend was hot. The surprise was Katie Holmes however.

    Sorry for being OT

We all would like to see all of Mr. D’s work be award winning, make tons of money, etc… but I think he has had his biggest support with this show; and I don’t care how long it takes; I would like to get the typical die but keep coming back status so that when he takes his lovely grandaughter (many years in the future) to a flea market; he will pick up that Xev doll with one leg and grin. Then, reaching into his pocket for change; he may sigh with contentment for now two of his greatest creations would have found a home with each other.

Well, I don’t mind Lexx.com though it does disturb me that the most popular thread is “what do you look like” and though that is okay; i like just chatting with peeps; I don’t want to date them. I could go into any chat room and get these questions; what do you look like, what do you do. Hell, any social setting does this; I don’t mind off-topic too; but like I said if i wanted to do this i could look at personals.
I come to talk about LEXX, sci-fi, and to have a laugh (SUCK UP ALERT>>>>) like some of the ones you provide Logan. I like M. Frey’s site; and the last LEXX Muppets in Space was very funny.

Speaking of funny, that fatguy I do not understand; he ditches this board there on LEXX.com and praises this on while he’s here.

Yeah, he may have been a very old bug but he was our bug. I’ll miss you LEXX.
