I logged on too late, the hoax sounded fun.
lizardParticipantSometimes I feel like the only viewer that liked Garden! I agree that Kai is attempting to rejoin the cycle of life and death by adding himself to the compost heap. Since he is thousands of years old, maybe he wasn’t expecting anything to happen for quite a while & he was going to wait there throughout the millenia. I also like the surrealistic look of the episode.

Well, You guys are right. Sometimes, there is so much going on with the kids etc.. that I lose track of what day, month etc… it is. My son had alot going at pre-school,trips, mommy days, they put on a show and then I had to prep him and me for his up-coming surgery. QUOTE]Sorry to hear that your pre-schooler has to have surgery! I hope that everything is OK! I am a Mom of a preschooler too, so I can imagine how stressful it could be. Needless to say that I have missed most of the 2am reruns too. Since my VCR is smitten with VCR voodoo almost everytime I have to tape Lexx I only have a few on video.
I want to re-watch some of the episodes to analyse the intriguing Kai / Prince /Xev interactions.

I saw the in a different post a complaint about episodes re-cut for the American market.Let’s remember who is doing the censoring here. There is no government regulation of content of shows on cable. I think that it is the SCI FI channel that decides what to cut and why. Not some group of “censors”. Cutting a show infringes on its artistic integrity and I am going to complian to the SCIFI channel. Usually it has something to do with fear of losing advertisments. Others who agree should join me in complaining to SCIFI channel!

Yes, but the lexx would still have to have mass on the order of 10^6 kg to exert a reasonable amount of gravity (this is assuming that the mass is concentrated in the center of the bug.) Which is awfully dang massive!
(this calculation may be somewhat questionable, because I have forgotten what a “newton” is and I am too lazy to look it up, but the above is my best estimate of reasonable w/out consulting a physics book.)
lizardParticipantAt least the lexx toilet is environmentally sound (it seems as if the lexx is digesting…). It makes me wonder if the lexx itself leaves giant dung balls behind on the planets that it visits? Or is it so efficient that it creats no waste? Or burns it as fuel?
lizardParticipantKai doesn’t “breath” in the sense of passing oxygen through his lungs to his blood supply (he doesn’t have a blood supply anymore), but he still has lungs that are there from when he was alive, and he can take air into them and blow it out (which he does on various occasions) I don’t think that he wanted to give the bio-vizier mouth to mouth. Kai uses being “dead” as an excuse for not doing a lot of things!
lizardParticipantWas it actually a poodle, or one of those other puffy littly white dogs (I forget what they are called, they were in fashion a few years ago).
I see M.M. as more of a Jack Russel terrier type of guy, the smooth kind not the wire haired. As for the character of Kai, he would have something a little more exotic.. an iguana or snake perhaps.

Good lord! I have offended people who like to watch Lexx with my naughty talk! I must have sunk to a new low, what next! I have been edited!
From now on I will watch my language on this dainty board…
Actually, some of you may be younger than I think. Young and tender.

lizardParticipantNook?! Maybe I missed that one! Did Xev actually HAVE SEX…if so I am relieved. There is a big difference between flirting with someone and doing the nasty. The only time I remember her actually having sex is when she was a man and she had her way with stanley.
I missed some of season 2 (the schedule on scifi is erratic).

lizardParticipantNothing drives some women, (and men), into a passion like the object of our interest being unavailable! Plus M.M. has considerable male beauty.
Also (and this is weird) he can be submissive sometimes, which I find sexy in an otherwise powerful man. For example, in one of the season two eps, the one with the spider web that gets into stan’s brain, he asks Xev at the end if he should kill stanley for her. Now if she could only get him to follow other orders….
On the other hand, I find it rather annoying that Xev has had to remain a virgin all this time, while she is waiting for Kai to warm up. Do the writers have a Madonna/whore complex or what?

On Star-trek, often when they land on the earth it is in the S.F bay area (I remember one time they ran into Mark Twain, it was an ep. with Woopi Goldberg, and the whale movie). Come to think of it the cast of Jules Verne went to S.F recently, and met Mark twain too. I admit that I am looking forward to something destructive happening…..

I even liked the garden ep. which everyone else seems to rank as the worst. I liked the clothes for one, and we see how unpleasantly selfish Stanley can be.
I thought that it was interesting that
This garden of eden was definitely thrown away on the crew..who even brought a flesh eating plant with them to contaminate the place.Did you notice that Xev ends up with the key at the end…I think she should stay in charge..

lizardParticipantDoes anyone else think that Xenia looks kind of like Nastasia Kinski? I like the fact that her character has gotten a little bit bitchier in this last season. I am hoping that she really kicks some ass in Season 4!

lizardParticipantJust about everything else on TV (i am in the U.S.) is as dull as dishwater! I think that the sci-fi channel is pushing lexx to the side to make room for its other, less bizzaar offerings. Farscape is especially ennui-inducing lately. Visonary writers are not in demand in the us tv market! When I discovered Lexx last summer it was like a breath of fresh air! PS does any one know if its true that M. McMannus has a role on a Jules Verne episode? If so which one?

lizardParticipantMore interesting to me than where people come from is: How is the phallus-bug maintaining localized gravity?? Instead of plummeting down into an abyss when they step off the edge of the bridge, everyone should just float… Whatever the instects are, they have a superior grasp of CFT (conformal field theory) than any humans have…since they can manipulate gravitons in this way!!
