Participant33.331% – Total Geek
Not too far off of you, thefrey, and I don’t have anywhere near your impressive geek credentials! 😉
My guess is that some geek along the line dropped the ball; they’re not very good with sports, you know (groans all around, I know).

ParticipantThe first review from VengfulKiwi, 3-01 Amazon Women in the Mood, is now up in the Futurama Guide. Check it out!

Participant2-19 The Cryonic Woman has been added to the Futurama episode guide.

ParticipantI haven’t done any better than a sad, sorry 45 meters. 😳

ParticipantIt definitely has a little bit of everything. Comedy, drama, the horror/scifi element. I can see why it has a cult following with frequent small showings around the country.
aquabloodstone
ParticipantYes, Dr. Quest and Race were always a little fast and loose with the kids’ welfare.
“We’re in the center of a dangerouse jungle, crawling with poisonous creatures. By the way, where are the kids?”
“Oh, they’re probably just lost or something, they’ll be okay.”
aquabloodstone
ParticipantI’m looking forward to it myself. If I get half as big a kick out of it as I did the South Park Movie, I’ll enjoy myself.
aquabloodstone
ParticipantWhoo hoo ❗ 😀

ParticipantThe complete ignoramus (who apparently can’t spell ignoramus in her first post) weighs in – I like it, very nice. That is all. 😀
aquabloodstone
ParticipantYou know, I never really paid any attention to Zev/Xev. I was more interested in manly Stanley, cold Kai and perfidious Prince.
aquabloodstone
ParticipantDon’t feel bad, we’ve all been there. Sometimes you feel like the invisible lifeform.
Apparently I am the only one dazzled by my wit 😉
aquabloodstone
ParticipantI’m also right with you again pet! I hadn’t heard of the thing either, but Bonnie-bashing is great fun. I’ve long held a grudge against her. I have no expectations she’ll be going away any time soon.
aquabloodstone
ParticipantI know right where you’re coming from pet. The ONLY thing that kept me watching SF was Farscape. I realize it wasn’t their fault that Lexx left, even though they didn’t do much for the show. Lexx is the first thing that got me watching SF, Farscape kept me there.
After Farscape, I deprogrammed the channel. I visited for TTtR, am not happy with what I saw on the channel otherwise, and left it deprogrammed. When and if something comes on and I hear about it (usually here), I tune in.
Streudel is also very correct, NBC isn’t going to change things unless it’s to fire everone there, suck all the money from the place and then sell it’s nearly dead carcass off to someone else.
aquabloodstone
ParticipantAs far as I know, it has to have at least 22 episodes and some kind of commercial grab. Although I doubt that looking at some of the crap that’s already on dvd and there’s still no Duckman!
It really is a shame about Jonathan Brandis – he was a cute kid and not a bad actor at all.
aquabloodstone
ParticipantI know just what you mean. But what sucks even worse is buying the special extended edition (after paying twice as much and hunting it down) to have 5.2 seconds of additional crappy footage that wasn’t worth it in the first place!
aquabloodstone
ParticipantCheck out www.tvshowsondvd.com to check the status on your fave shows and vote for the ones you’d like to see on dvd and how you’d like them to be arranged. You have to register, but it’s free and they’ll update you via e-mail of any releases you choose.
PS Brisco County is on the top ten most requested list – LUVED Jack of All Trades and Cleo “power hour” – Good Junk Indeed!
aquabloodstone
ParticipantI can’t see the first or last link-one asks for a password, the other just doesn’t work ala thefrey, but Wade as Kai b and the back of Kai’s hair work for me.
aquabloodstone
ParticipantI watched some of it long ago and far away, and I really don’t remember that much about it. However, you are correct – there are many shows that deserve dvd status and haven’t gotten it and many a throwaway program that has gained it too soon. This show had enough episodes to qualify and a relatively decent fan following, it deserves to be seen (since it never re-runs).
aquabloodstone
ParticipantFirst, there are many many many places to draw more monsters from – Universal, literature etc – (as so aptly pointed out by micromary)
Second, Micromary – great plotline!
Third, Arnold Vosloo and Hugh Jackman in the same movie 😀 To borrow a phrase from the Michael McManus drooler thread at lexxfans.com – Flaming Panties are an inevitability 😉

Participant*Disclaimer* I am a complete ignoramous when it comes to website design and maintenance-please don’t laugh too hard*
How feasable would it be to arrange the tabs in whatever manner you like and have slide menus for the sections? The experience I have as a user of slide menu navigation is a positive one. I like the fact that the navigation menu is hidden until you call for it. The only “problem” is calling attention to the slide itself, which is why I suggest the tabs stay. Again, don’t laugh too hard.

ParticipantI really did just want to join in on the fun. My first thought when I heard that Charlize Theron was going to be Aeon Flux was, “The hell you say!” But, I find the prospect of Halle Berry as Catwoman (with another name besides Selena Kyle) much more frightening/disconcerting. In the end, I’ll sit on the fence (those finials hurt BTW) and wait. I’ve doubted before and been pleasantly surprised.
aquabloodstone
ParticipantI’m right there with you bambooshoot 😉
aquabloodstone
ParticipantOkay, I’ll join in on the fun 🙂
Grrrrrrr!
aquabloodstone
ParticipantThank goodness! For a few days there, I thougt I was the only one who saw it. It’s definitely a weird little movie. But who can resist lines like (forgive the paraphrasing), “I don’t want no mummy slapping his lips on my *sshole!”
aquabloodstone
ParticipantI must confess it’s not on my viewing list, but you cannot pry my sister away from the telly when OCC is on. She doesn’t know how it happened either.
Maybe you two should form a support group 😉
aquabloodstone
ParticipantOh yes, I miss liquid television and Aeon Flux so!
The Real World just doesn’t fill the same void.aquabloodstone
ParticipantS1 – Eating Pattern
S2 – none
There were some weaker eps in s2 and s3, but none of them was so bad that it would suck.
S3 – Battle, I wasn’t fond of this one, the only one
S4 – Little Blue Planet, Texx Lexx, Stan Down, ApocaLexx Now (funny moments, but I generally hated it!)
aquabloodstone
ParticipantS1 – Super Nova, between Tim Curry and Giggerota you can’t beat it with a stick
S2 – 791, Wake the Dead, Nook, Patches In The Sky
S3 – Gametown, Girltown and Gondola(because it was the first episode of Lexx I ever saw)
S4 – A Midsummer’s Nightmare, Bad Carrot, Mort, Viva Lexx Vegas
aquabloodstone
Participant
BTW, is the Stepford Wives as funny as it looks in the trailers, or is that misleading?
It won’t have you rolling on the floor, but it has humor here and there.
*Spoiler warning* The opening has the most humor. Joanna(Nicole Kidman) is a ball-breaking TV exec introducing her new reality show promos. Those have to most up front humor.
All in all, it’s a passable movie. If you love the first and are a stickler, I don’t think I’d waste my money. It has definitely been updated and changed.
My impression was that these wives are the originals and they have computer chips implanted in their brains to change their behavior. But there are some inconsistencies in the movie or my reasoning ability that may contradict that. All the reviews say that the wives are replaced by robots. Who knows? Maybe I had my head up my wahoo and missed something.
The reviewers gave it a C+ and the viewers rated it a B-, according to the movie section of Yahoo! I enjoyed myself and my attention didn’t wander. But then again, it’s hard for your attention to wander when you’re going deaf from the theater sound system.

ParticipantAfter reading all of these great responses, I realized my viewing habits aren’t as narrow as I thought! Mayhaps there’s hope for the old boob tube after all . . . at least in the non sci-fi dept . . . sometimes.
aquabloodstone
ParticipantThey didn’t include all the eps on the Strangers with Candy DVD’s? Which ones are missing? That sucks, there weren’t that many eps in the first place!?!
aquabloodstone
ParticipantI agree, it would be very helpful. I like the longer list of news stories, the posts could benefit from the same treatment.
aquabloodstone
ParticipantWhat a great topic to resurrect! I missed it the first go ’round. If it’s not on the Food Network or Cartoon Network(especially Adult Swim), I generally don’t watch it. I do/did enjoy watching Murder She Wrote and Golden Girls reruns 😳
aquabloodstone
ParticipantOn IMDB.com, the only listed people are guard one and guard three. I guess character names are up to you 😉
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0295227/ …. Guard 3 (as Harvey Friedmann)
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0778659/ …. Guard 1 (as Peter James Scollin)
Hope that’s some help and non-redundant

ParticipantHe must wear a red hat while unloading cargo, to make the “cherry on top”
aquabloodstone
ParticipantI never meant to say he wasn’t a valuable character, but he is written as a social retard 😉 He’s supposed to be written that way. I actually like the character, but I have this thing about how some producers/writers/whatever seem to pick one character in a show and just make him the loser almost every time. I understand the way it works, the loveable loser syndrome, but they take it too far sometimes. That eye thing really got to me 👿 Look at what he overcame and how he became almost as big a hero as the rest of them (his constant lament thru the seasons) and then they killed his ex-fiancee and took his eye. Please take no offense Xander lovers of the world! 😀
aquabloodstone
ParticipantYou are absolutely right on that pot calling the kettle black thing. I hate it when the writers make a character the loser all the time. Give the guy a break, I mean they even took his eye for piss sakes!
aquabloodstone
ParticipantI read this and got confused, I thought I was still in the Lexx forum 😳 Well, I was of two minds on the whole thing. I liked the fact that they went down fighting, but I wasn’t happy with Lorne leaving. Something just struck me as wrong about it. And I was kinda getting to like Lindsay 😥 Obviously, no one is happy when a character dies (unless you hated them in the first place),but I have to say, if Wesley had to go, that’s the way to do it. I did miss the presence of some of the Buffy cast. It doesn’t jibe with their characterizations for none of them to be there. I know the reasons behind it and yada yada yada, but I can’t help but think a little more effort should have been put forth as to their inclusion by someone, anyone. The damn prophesy thing is going to drive me crazy though, y’know?
aquabloodstone
Participant
how come in the fighting scenes in buffy, when the fight and punch eachother there’s no big bruises or cuts or blood
That probably has more to do with the censors than the creators. As you’ve pointed out before, the target audience includes people well under 18. They trade off the little things for the big stuff later on, you know, stuff like flaying the skin off of people? That would be my best guess, anyway.
aquabloodstone
ParticipantHe does look pretty cool, although I thought of him as Rocky Road Chode 🙂
