No season 5. Ever. That is certain. And it’s not because SciFi Channel doesn’t want a season 5, either. So don’t start accusing SciFi of cancelling the show. The creators of Lexx decided not to persue the show any longer.

No offence, but I wouldn’t be suprised if you were being sarcastic. My Lexx website is a very plain website. It’s just a place for me to post the occasional picture or sound file. I sometimes post files that are requested here at SadBoard. The logo for the webpage I stole from another website. In other words, I didn’t put too much thought into it. And I don’t have any plans to improve upon it very much.

    Visit my Lexx webpage: http://www.flamegrape.com/lexx/index.htm
There you will find two or three schematic drawings of the Lexx. I downloaded them from SciFi.Com or Sparkla’s page some time ago.
If you are working on a CGI 3d model of the Lexx, let me know! I’m very interested.

….or you could have posted a message here on SadBaord, asking if anyone will dub a copy of any episode for you.

I’ve taped all episodes of Lexx and I’m ready to dub premium-quality copies of any episode sans commercials.

I’ve done this before with at least one other person here at SadBoard.

    Beavis: What’s this show we’re watching? Heh-heh-heh.

    Butthead: Uhhhhh… Laxx, I think. I think it’s about that guy in black who can’t pinch a loaf. Uh-huh-huh. Uh-huh-huh. Uh-huh-huh.

Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! And the red-haired chick is trying to help him. Heh-heh-heh. Heh-heh-heh.

Butthead: Whoa! Cooool! Check out their spaceship. It looks like a tool!

    Beavis: Heh-heh-heh. Heh-heh-heh.

    Butthead: Uh-huh-huh. Uh-huh-huh. Uh-huh-huh.

I saw Isle Dr. Moreau in the theater. It was “okay”. But I really liked Fairuza Balk as the kitty-kat girl. I like anything she does.

I was terribly disappointed in Cool World. Didn’t Ralph Bakshi (the animator of that movie) retire after that?

Plus, he was probably nervous as #e!! up there. You could tell most of them were. Maybe the act was Wil’s way of defusing the panic. But that’s just speculation. The point is, he said he was kidding.

Like Sisyphus? I’m not sure about that. (Sisyphus was a legendary king of Corinth condemned eternally to repeat the cycle of rolling a heavy rock up a hill in Hades only to have it roll down again as it nears the top. Sisyphus is also a cool song by Pink Floyd on their album, Ummagumma.)

It seemed to me that Hogtown was all about endless and torturous bureaucracy. With so much red tape, nothing gets done. It’s a manifestation of blameless evil. It’s no one’s fault because the buck is always passed up the chain of command and all the leaders are just following rules that always exempt them from blame. Pretty much just like any corporation.

The Harry Potter books got kids to read. That fact alone is an astonishing miracle.

I explained to my niece that the Philosopher’s Stone was the goal of ancient alchemy. The art of alchemy evolved into modern chemistry. Magicians evolved into modern scientists. She was fascinated. Next, I will buy her a book about tarot along with Crowley’s Thoth deck.

Lee, you would damn something that sparks the imagination of millions of children everywhere? How miserable. I expected better of you.

I was working at the time, and I just told the guy that my opinion was mine, and I needed to get back to work. It’s just crazy here!

I went to see the movie twice. Once with some friends of mine who run a small-time publishing company for local poets and authors. And then a second time with my niece and nephew.

I’ve read the first two books and I want to read the rest. But I don’t hold a movie company to be responsible for directly translating a book into a movie. They did a very, very good job with Harry Potter. I look forward to all the future movies.

Aeryn, you live in the “Bible Belt” too? You have my sympathies. Growing up in the southern United States has made me hate fundamentalist Christians. If you live in this region, you’re either stupid and buy into the misery of self-righteous bible-thumpers or you grow a brain instead. Being an intelligent free-thinker, I have to continually watch myself around strangers. One false move and I’ll find myself on the wrong end of a paranoid rant by some religeous nut!

I was hoping that when I went to see Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone there would be fundamentalist Christians protesting outside the theaters. I was actually disappointed that they were not there. I thought for sure that they would be screaming and crying and preaching about the evils of black magic! The movie is clearly about magic and witchcraft presented in a good light! They hate that kind of open-minded non-Christian viewpoint! I was looking forward to getting into an arguement with any one of those @ssholes. I would have pointed to them and shouted to all the children going into the theater, “Look, kids! Behold the worst type of muggle there ever can be! These people want you to always feel sad! They will try to hurt you if you don’t like what they like! These are exactly the same kind of people who blew up the World Trade Center!”

I hate fundamentalists with an intense passion.

I figured that this was the case mid-way through series 3. I realized that Fire & Water were like Heaven & Hell. The last episode of that series confimed this idea.

Imagine the unbelievable water pressure at the center of planet Water. Sure, Kai can’t be killed easily. But he can be damaged before he repairs himself. He would have been crushed to the size of a pea. Just a thought.

It’s hard to pick a favorite scene. There were so many.

The first favorite scene of mine that comes to mind is an odd one. In K-Town, Stan and Xev are stuck at the bottom of a hole. Tish and the other crazies are flinging stones down at them. At this point, Stan and Xev are feeling miserable. They were in the worst situation since they came to Fire and Water. Stuck on a harsh planet with no transportation, food, or water, trapped at the bottom of a hole with maniacs stoning them. A glimmer of hope appears when Kai shows up. But he’s unable to help because he’s malfunctioning. It is from that lowest point that our heroes climb back up and eventually prevail at the end of the series.

Either that or any scene involving Xev and a shower. When you think about it, every shower on the Lexx is a “golden shower”! (Eeeeeewwww!)

Assuming we were in orbit of the Earth…

Land in Cleveland, Ohio on X-Day and gather up all the followers of the Church of the Subgenius. I’d take them all away with the Sex Goddess, Xev.

Above all else, I would set myself up as “Boss Hogg” of the solar system.

I would tell the Lexx to EAT the Middle-East! (I’m only half-serious…)

I’d do everything I could to help Dr. Longbore and his students to build ships to get off the Earth.

I’d gather up all the engineers and intellectuals. We’d build bases on all terrestrial planets in the solar system. Place armed space station at the lagrange points around Earth so none of those ground-pounders get any funny ideas.

I’d have a pajama party with Xev and Tina.

Throw a 24-7 rave on the decks near the galley. Put Stan in charge as manager. Kai would be the bouncer.

Rule the world with a Machiavellian iron fist.

Outlaw American football under pain of death.

    Legalize all victimless crimes.

(I’ll think of a ton of other things later…)

Okay, I’ve put together a simple place-holder webpage for my 3d starcharts.
    http://www.flamegrape.com/3dstarmap/

It’s not very eye-catching. It just shows an image of the 3d model as seen in my copy of 3d Studio Max. None of the stars are labeled. The lines between some of the stars represent the shortest distances between them. Sol is somewhere in the middle.

I’m still thinking about the GUI for such a web-based 3-D starmap. I was thinking about replicating Seven’s astrometric’s lab (and call it “Seven’s Atlas of Sector 001”), but I didn’t want to limit it to just the Star Trek genre.

Today I just got my new Xev poster framed. When I picked it up at the frame shop, they asked me who she was. I explained that she’s one of the stars of a show called Lexx that comes on the SciFi Channel. She said that she’ll look for it next time it comes on. I felt embarrased! I made sure to warn her more than once that it is a show for adults and not for kids, that the show is not for everyone. I said, “Kind of like Rocky Horror”, pointing to the Rocky Horror Picture Show poster that was behind her. She said that she’d take a look anyway.

Great. I bet the first episode of Lexx that she ever watches will be Bad Carrot!

i checked and the s4 outfit is about 5.something mbs zipped — do you know where i can send it/ upload it?

I think I can set up some sort of “public” directory at Flamegrape.Com where anyone can upload files if they have the given username and password. I’ll look into it.

Also, people have sent me large files in the past using some sort of free file transport service. I’ll look into that too.

It might be just a matter of copying a particular file out of the “Runtime” directory in Poser 4 folder. It’s been a while since I’ve messed around with Poser. But I think I can figure that out too.

The very best advice I can give about creating models for Q3A-based games is to consult the information at Polycount, a webpage dedicated to the subject. It’s very arcane at first. Look around the site and read some of the tutorials. Find out some information about the shareware programs that it uses. But with me giving you advice, I might be able to speed things up for you.

In order for another person to use and see a custom-made player model, that person will have to have a copy of the model and texture files. Typically, that means a .pk3 file that is about 3 to 6 MB in size. That is why people usually go to websites like Polycount to download the latest and most popular characters.

The poser models could only be used for rendering images or animation. For use in videogames, the characters have to have a very low polycount.

It is very likely that in the not-so-distant future, all videogame characters will have polygon counts on the order of poser models. But that day has not arrived yet.

Now that I’m interested in Lexx poser models, I think I would want to create those first. Maybe it’ll be possible to crunch the polygon count of the poser models down to videogame size using tools within 3d Studio MAX. But more than likely, I’d just use the poser model as a reference for building a simpler version.

The hardest part may be the texture maps. The lizardskin texture might not be all that hard. What I’m worried about is Kai’s costume. I’m very glad that one of the moderators took close-up pictures of Kai’s costume for the moderator’s report. But I need pictures of the back of his shirt and pants!

You got it! But Kai’s brace will be a special problem. Either we ignore it’s use and just be happy with all our characters weilding guns, or we create a special mod that would allow it’s use. I’ve never attempted anything like that before. It would be very cool if you could be Kai and use your brace to zap people and also cling to walls and ceilings like Spiderman. I don’t know how practical it’s implementation might be.

I can’t wait to play as Xev! She’s my favorite!

Good work, Elfie! I’d like to get a copy of that face pose. You’re way ahead of me, to say the least! My only criticism might be the body proportions, but maybe i can help with that. The face looks just about perfect!

If you’ve worked on any articles of clothing, I’d like to get copies of that too.

A friend is bringing me a copy of PoserPro tonite and a copy of Michael. (Victoria’s counterpart, not MMcM!) He tells me that creating morph targets is easier with PoserPro.

Looks like I’ll have to create a “Digital Xev” webpage to display work! (I gotta think of a better name than that, tho…)

Wow! I have to admit that much of what’s been mentioned above is news to me! Cool! DT, if you ever get the chance, post that list of extra-solar planets. I could add them to my map of “Sector 001”.

    Clarification: “Boogie” as in…

    the movie title, Boogie Nights

K.C. & the Sunshine Band’s song, I’m Your Boogie Man

the intransitive verb that means, “to dance to rock music”.

You’re the one who emailed me about it last week? Cool. I’ll start a new thread over at the general Lexx discussion forum…

unless it was a totally self contained ship/ space station putting anything in it’s space would be pointless.

(and it is 7.5 lightyears from earth…!!!)

You’re right, there wouldn’t much of interest at Wolf 359. Planets are doubtful, but we don’t know for sure. At the current time, astronomers can only indirectly detect very large gasgiants in orbit around neighboring stars. But that doesn’t rule out terrestrial rockballs or asteroids.

It would seem to me that it would be in Starfleet’s interest to station some sort of outpost at Wolf 359. Even if it was just a shotgun shack or quanset hut.
