I had a disturbing dream earlier this week that i can’t get out of my head which explains my absence and my lack of enthusiam for posting and really even watching BSG this week. And there of course is THE JOB.
I was helping in some sort of program for teenagers but they were not “human”. Their whole species was rounded up and sold to humans as whatever, slaves remniscent of the auction block; I was working with a young group of them that tried to hide their “differentness”; one particular girl I had almost gotten free like Harriet Tubman I guess; trying to get her to harness her abilities of psychic reader.
She got caught by the suits who put her up for sale like others.
The sale was like this, like a museum case, wooden casements around large windows where this group, when caught, were displayed, with no furniture just a bare beige carpet. Those caught, had to be placed in the “viewing room” naked. Especially rebellious ones were chained to a pole in the floor lying on their stomachs.
The “suits” would come in, chosse their slave and purchase them from a machine on the side where they ran a card.
This teenage girl was clearly beatened and drugged, she turned her head towards the two way mirror. I so remember her eyes.I had slipped in unnoticed but she knew i was there; I tried to pay to get her out but I was in a bidding war.
Her face then turned to the Columbia logo girl, you know the chick, red hair in white, carrying a torch.
Just as i was going to spring her, i woke up.
It has stayed with me all week long. 😯 ❓

Which leads us back to collaborators. if we maintain this “us and them” philosophy or as now on skiffy okayers and naysayers who are the collaborators?
Those like the Cylons that have no regard for the people. So in essence the lines are being drawn; those that work with the suits and their ancillary family who advocate not listening to fans yet feel they must inform us we don’t matter unless we follow the okay status; are in essence the Cylons; we are the true fleet.
And again a quandry for an artist develops which is good for the artist for a true artist must have these gray areas in which to work; to create.
They must have this conflict: the being and what wishes to be so that with their own style and inspiration they can bring into being what was not there previously or to bring into focus that which is shadowy and not clear.
If you lock-step (thank you for whom ever used this term on other boards) with what you know we have what is now. Those of the suit industry praising your every move, “criitcal appeal” but loss in fans watching because you speaka a language that is only true to your little circle; it’s not universal.
Sooner or later that will kill the show.
If you lean towards fans too much, then you have a mess as well.
The key is and always will be balance.
It’s the “smoking in my office flaunting rules because I can’t at home and I can’t here until its to the point ya just thumb your nose at rules” mentality that sets us free.
This is what free people do, they weigh the pros and cons of any situation and make decisions; they get informed, then they make up their own minds.
Artists look at society rules and the rules and expectations pushed on them and then they not only question them, they bend them when they can.
So in essence an artist needs both groups … a yin and yan, a light and dark from which to create.
I am one side of this, and change to fit the other side to maintain the balance. At times, the light, and times the dark; all for the same purpose to maintain balance and to keep the portal of creativity swirling in thick fogs of gray; just as the brain is swirling patterns of gray matter.
And I do like an occassional mind frack; like to deliver them; like to receive them; a “mind 69” as it were.

Your cycle will soon be complete, after your victorious return to your alma mater; you must have new challenges, you must renew yourself because history a has many examples of men and women whom, after defeating those who wrong them in the past, and consequently rose to great heights were snuffed out in the end because they had achieved what can be called their “comeback” and restored their name.
You must maintain your “seeking spirit” you must not let the suits or your wife kill that in you. If you do, your defeat is assured.
If I know nothing else, if you let “them” kill this yearning to understand, yearning for what is right and good for all; not just execs not just your wife and family; you would have failed in your quest to be an outstanding individual.
Those of earthly power look at me with askance, but the earth is not the best place in the universe. Again you have to have faith; but we are not alone in the universe; and there are much better places to live life; in fact the universe is a place teeming with life; it wants to create.

Jesus constantly berated others about not giving into their selfish desires and to seek “The Way”.
I would say this woman, dear heart to the X-prod, pushes an idea held by many in her “industry” that has been going on for centuries.
Call her the Romans, we are the peons of the Empire. But Rome did end… just as they will end… and this being a faster moving reverse telescoping time in human history, we will not have to wait centuries for this downfall.

I actually dug up an old song to review my path of life and my spiritual journey.

Very clubby song and surely dates me, but it’s special to me because it recalls the first of many people to help me.
I used to club heavily and I met this DJ who used to have this uncanny ability to pull songs out of my head and play them.
This was one he pulled out the first time.
Now he did not give me the physical loving,; he gave me something better and something deeper.
He taught me to chant the same phrase i do today, and actually set in motion the events of my life.
He did out of compassion and a higher love for me as a person.

I do not contest the LACK of sci-fi in our world, nor am I a complete trolless; I just believe that the writers had this idea of changing it up and then got scared and went back to what they know; which is tragic.
We know BSG has a proven track record on these issues:
CGI ship blowups.
Wrting Semi ‘credible’ military sequences.
Writing and honoring the military dead and “the auditorium scenes for kick ass” So say we all” speeches for speakers like Roslin and Adama.
Some metaphysical/spiritual play with characters ( a lot of it is half-assed but you weigh down the American mind with too much of that “otherwordly stuff”)
Sexual themes and sexual positions 😯 😉
conflicted characters (some are so conflicted and contorted that it’s laughable; my gods Starbuck !what the hell are they doing to her?)
Okay kudos for this. it’s hard to find sci-fi like this, I will give you that.
Unfortunately, this may be all we will ever get, variations on the same themes.
THAT is why I’m not whooping for BSG joy.
For example, we revisit torturing prisoners; the difference is these are some people we know. But we’ve done tribunals in Season 1 we’ve put them out airlocks before.
I can hear the whining now…

They made it closer to us; they put a face on them! They might kill Jammer but they will not kill Gaeta.
And the biggest collaborator? Baltar is scott free.
All in all, even their tried and true formula is fomulaic now.

An idea, and bad at that…. let’s say the civvie ships in the fleet begin picking up false echos of Tribe 13 calls and one by one, in defiance of Adama and Roslin ,begin jumping away to coordinates unknown to the BSG and both the Cylons and the BSG have to go looking for them.
No more “so Say We All” speeches because obviously it stops being true when you’ve been though hell and those screaming for unity ignore you and refuse to step out of their comfort zone to sit with you, hold your hand and listen.
I’d like to see more of a ” we know what you’ve been through, and we know what we ask of you”. A more appreciative speech for those “stoopid civies/fans of the show that involves speaking to not only the fleet but to ALL fans which involves asking for their support, and in essence is saying “stick with us; we work well together not apart. You are important to us. In fact our survival depends on you.”
We need this kind of “so say we all…” not a’ please fit into our perspective… and what we consider to be good or bad, right or wrong’. or even worse, this is my show, “I do what i want!”
I;m not saying fans should write the show, I am saying appreciate ALL of us, as the vast and incredibly beautiful kaleidoscope of humanity that is only mouse clicks away. Be thankful for this!
I’d like an approach that says “please allow us to sit quietly in your space, and listen to your mind and heart and may be we can come to an understanding or at least to the point we can talk about what’s going on in the present and what will happen in the future.”
We all make our future. Not 10 favored fans on a BB, not one BB.Not even one show on one network. ALL of us, and we should be recognized for that fact.

It was a good ep; best so far, better than the cliff of 2.5,
but yet I’m depressed.
I feel with this Tigh character; I mean losing so much, risking what he could not afford to lose; only to be pushed aside with shouts of Adama.

Michael Hogan! not your pretty Cylons, not your other draws but THIS man, should get the nod for this work, but being a “teamplayer” is all he is about. I understand this all so well.
He won’t stand in the spotlight; he’ll shun it. I can so relate.
That and the battles were the high point for me.

Strong in what way? They are going to have to kill some arcs or kill some main people off or it will either be the same thing ad nauseum or it will be this race.
That is my fear, that they don’t have the balls to axe a main character so you know they’ll live on in some twisted fashion.

It’s ironic really, all the things i loved about the mini somehow holds back development just as TOS holds back TNS in some way.
I know this show is love for the “adult” element, the military feel, the blowing Cylons up, i just can’t get all gooey about it like i did.

I would like to say that i thnk may be 2 or at least one ep i can truly say ZOWEEEE! THAT was a good ep,

Pegasus, Resurrection, Scar, and a few others saved that season; but not the whole batch.
It’s hard to take the punch in the gut from low ratings but what can you expect?
The good “luck” only goes so far; and then you have to do something about it.
Time to circle the wagons of those fans you have, and be satisfied with that.
The 5.5 million vs. 2.2 households; double watching, more accessible then cable, but the quality of the webisodes turned viewers off to the show itself.

I’m all for new artistic vision as well (I mentioned Gaimen) but not only is hot nookie as no. 1 priority a sign of the fall… it’s the” I saw such and such movie and lifted it for my work.”
Sure lifting concepts is fine, but mirroring other movies and shows, not cool.
it’s a lazy man’s way of writing, and it attests to the fact the muse is no longer sitting on his/her shoulder.
An artist knows what it is like to give birth to a new creation “or as May’s The Courage to Create” (looove that book) on pg 89 he quotes from a Chinese poet “We poets struggle with Non-being to force it to yield Being. We knock upon silence for an answering music.”
So the blame for our state is not to be laid completely at the industry execs door whom I’m disgusted with, but also to those who should be working but are not whom I’m also disgusted with.
Like i said this battle could shake out the mundane from the real artists.
And it’s about frickin’ time!
Change is on the wind though, a writer’s strike is brewing which will truly hmmmm how do i put it, separate the good writers from the bad and if it can be made, this show might get my sci-fi fix because it’s easier to adapt from what is written then to create what is new.

More inane banter
You know what really irks me as a a small voice in the large auditorium of life; is how those with power abuse it everytime. I know it is human nature to do so but c’mon. That’s why i rail against those that have it and do not use it “for the good of all” and instead lift their “pets” to power.
One of the consciousness we all have IF we stop relying on our senses and our puny ego, is the karmic storehouse; it’s not the highest one, but it is one many so want to get to and live there because it shows connection between all things, but everyone’s crap is in there too.
The point i guess I’m trying to make albeit very badly, is to walk in higher states of seeing, and feeling, and connection, you have to reduce the need to want to be considered a certain way.
For example, i watched BSG, I gave my input, I stopped, my input was taken, used, and then used to beat me into the ground.
Now i could be angry, really angry but i am more hurt than anything, that basic kindness and respect which could have been offered,:should have been offered for a show that relies on humanistic issues as its blood, and would have been offered in time if i had time another 5-10 years to watch events all unfold like it always unfolds for me.
I don’t have the time and energy to wait for their “D’oh! “smack in the head ” moment .
Meanwhile, the spouse gets kudos for being snippy and favoritism for a small group.
Does anyone see where this is heading? Anyone?
Someone was right when they said Yoko Ono for this chick.
At higher consciousness level it is even more damaging and damning. I don’t know about you, a shout out of favortism for one group over another is like standing a room full of strangers, naked inside and out and which the understanding is all are equal and then proclaiming you are the most important person in the room and only you know all the answers and your friends of course.
It denies the very fiber of everyone there when speaking about higher states of awareness; it irritates collective to the core. Though particular individuals may not realize it it at this level they begin expressing dissatisfaction with this person in a myriad of ways. The basic premise is that someone who judges others without love in their heart (and that is what someone who chooses” us” over “them” thinking does)is looked at with amusement as an errant child at best and an absolute fool at worst
I think the Yoko parallel works best in this situation. For example, Yoko… fine artist in her own right, but then gave it up to be the “partner”… biggest mistake she ever made, not only in the consciousness is she still looked at as the “Biatch the broke up the Beatles” she really had to go through hell to hold onto him because I think due to her own insecurity .
A realization needs to be made that even though you marry stardust, a flitter… and you want to play Mama… he’s a big boy now.. and needs to take on some of the work no matter what line you are handed. he uses that line of work, it’s an excuse….
You have a responsibility to evolve yourself; to pursue who you are out if a family realm. You owe this to yourself and to humanity. Well, mainstream viewers are hard to pin down, you say sci-fi, they think bespeckled little men with pencil holders or sci-costumed fans from con whom they sneer at; little knowing that sci-fi is where imagination begins for all of our futures.
If you can dream it, you can make it become real.
You have to have balance and timing, it is more true than ever before in order to live through these times.
You can’t gloss over and get the surface of something and then proclaim you know it.
The horror attached to sci-fi is overplayed at times, like that channel we are stuck with in the states. They like the fantasy, they like the horror, because their target audience with cash is so immune to real suffering in this world that to find balance in their psyche they watch this crap.
Mommy and Daddy need to put away the plastic and stop with the reasoning:” I want to give my kids better than i had it.”And then there is the guilt factor of not being home with them to raise them.. Look there life WILL be better than yours because of progress but to take away what forges them into incredible people and not whiny co-dependents is idiotic and a disservice to them.
Teach them to be tolerant, intellectual, and balanced: to know when to shut up and when to speak up, what battles are worth time and efffort to fight and which get them nowhere.
You can obtain wisdom at any age; you just have to shut up enough to really listen.

I mean I’ve been there, you put time and energy into something and someone passes it off like their own, and you not only get no thank you, you get crapped on.
The beauty of it though is with creativity, it comes back time and time again, and you get oodles of it if you don’t limit yourself and let others limit you. Unlike those that steal, they steal your credit for a reason, they can’t do it themselves.
And Headge, doing good for people always comes back to help you, believe me. You have some pleasantness points saved up for you, I know it. I couldn’t happen to a better guy.
So I say congratulations; now when it happens come and tell me what it is, because i don’t judge what makes people happy, I just chant they become that way.
This is how we help each other, you pray for me, I chant for you, I listen, you talk, I talk, you listen; we all agree we are in this life together, and we will help each other through whatever happens.
I have been treated roughly on boards, yes, but there is no point in getting angry or even. Sometimes someone making a courageous statement, or standing for a cause takes a lot of heat, the mistake is to angry about the backlash and stooping to the level of the opponent. Namecalling back by calling people wack jobs and aaaaa hats is not the answer.
Hate begets hate, so stow your emotion and take the punch in the gut, and stand up and say “Is that all you’ve got? Thank you, can I have another?” You know why someone can do this? This is inner clarity and inner strength, not relying on others to point you to what is right, but knowing by ones own moral compass that no matter if everyone turns against you, you are on the right path.
That’s a hero, right or wrong, he/she follows where their heart leads.
It’s knowing and understanding a basic fact, such as this: I don’t hate anyone. I become disappointed in a few people because i think they should know better, but mostly I’m indifferent.
People are like differing flowers, they bloom at different times, some will be more favored than others, but we all bloom.
Those that don’t understand me nor care to take the time to understand will see me as possible the wack job or a*(hat, let them say what they will. I have met many like them. I would have gradually brought the politics in; spoon fed the audience, and added entertainment and humor. Gallows humor can be the naughtiest and the funniest.
