Ah, but according to theSpouse Storylines and plots can slow you down. In fact sometimes *HorRoR* they get in the way of the action car chases or kunfu fighting. 😯

So not having much of either one is not necessarily a bad thing for certain groups of viewers. 😉

Well they did an OCC Marathon today.

I must say, I am totally underwhelmed by Senior’s mechanical skills. He has been off fabrication for awhile apparently and it shows. Of course, if he could SEE that might help. Yo! Senior, put your freaking glasses on and keep them on.

Vinnie is still my fav. But Mikey humour makes it an easier show to watch.

I liked the sled they made for last years Christmas Bike, but I especially liked the fact that Junior had to dress up like the fashion victim elf. Senior made a better looking Santa than Mikey, but perhaps they did not want Mikey driving the Bike/sled rig. Understandable, since it looked a bit unwieldy.

They showed several different bikes. The Mann bike was interesting. But I still like the Miller Bike.

Ah, I’ll live I guess. I shall just have to quietly savor my role as the early adopter for my little part of the universe and take comfort in the fine relationship I have with the Techno-Gods.

but… but… if the wording of the questions had been changed to ‘have you ever’…… 😛 😛 😛 😉

*Kicks Post* hummm, perhaps no one else has seen it yet. 🙂

To while away the time, I was surfing the net and found a site devoted to ‘A Gallery of Unfortunate Christmas Cards.’ Very amusing look at what those pretty pictures on the card actually depict.
Picture – A cute little angel is pictured holding a christmas star and a doll.

First reaction: Oh, what a sweet little girl. Isn’t she cute with her little pig tails and her dolly?
    And her wings?

    Wings?

And she’s on a little cloud.

    Oh dear.

It hits: Oh my God, this little girl is dead!

I know this is the theme of this whole section, but here I must reiterate: Who, in their right mind, would send out Christmas cars with a picture of a little dead girl!?! http://www.capnwacky.com/holiday/cards5.html

Picture – Several half grown kittens on the stairs, with a holly spray on the corner of the card.

Honey, I’m having a great time here at your mother’s for Christmas, and I don’t mean to bother, but you did leave food and water out for the kitties, right?

    Hmmm? Oh, sure. Uh, sure.

Oh good. I’d hate to think of them walking around the house, slowly starving to death and mewing mournfully as they wonder why we’ve left them to die. http://www.capnwacky.com/holiday/cards16.html

Well the second way that I can tell it is Christmas is by not being able to escape the movie ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’

No matter where you click this time of year it is on! One year I was found it on three separate channels with about 5 or 10 minutes lag time between each one. At first I got confused wondering if someone had put in a tape or something, it was like ‘Hey! I just watched that.” Both Freaking and scary 😀

But on the less Scary side. I also like the Charlie Brown specials. I find them strangely soothing……

Ah, Many-Colored Land by Julian May. this books had scope and range. probably the hard part would be knowing where to start. Hollywood not being known for that starting in the beginning thing.

But if they could figure that out, They would have enough there to do a high quality movie a-la Stargate and then enough *cannon* material to do a series also. And who knows, perhaps unlike Stargate they could semi-stick to the story and not go haring off to where ever some tv-writer of the week took them.

Showstopper on this? Sets. Could be a bit pricey after the Movie. Perhaps that is why Stargate went down the path it did. Or, it could be they only had rights to a certain part of the story. Who knows.

Very stylish, yet uniformative site. Granted it is 4 in the morning, but I *should* be able to find out who is acting in this without a note from god.

So, who *is* acting in it? ’cause if it was listed on that site and the one it linked to I am just flat missing it.
That’s quite the nifty gadget you got there thefrey. I’m kind of a muppet when it comes to technology, though I’ve been very happy with my mobile phone I got in Sept.

I was just wondering though, how much do you email? Work vs. personal?

I’ve a friend whose working on a graduate degree studying how email communication has evolved/ is evolving.
It’s very interesting don’t you think – we can stay in constant availability with mobiles now and the language we use electronically is a new dialect from spoken lauguage….

I do a ton of email at work. But also in RL. And amazingly, if I do not check my email several times a day…. that is the day that all the time sensitive stuff pops in. bleh!

Which is why I like this Ogo thing. I can hit the email update button hourly and check and return email without using my employers system. Big help! Especially on those rare occassions when a reporter actually trys to get the Unions point of view. Those people are on deadlines darn it. I was always missing then, since I COULD NOT reply on works system.

The constant IM is also very nice. Of course, we cannot IM at work, without eranged IT trolls swarming, so this makes it nice. I can occassionally actually have contact with theNeices in UK-land. They are usually in bed, by the time I get to my home computer. 🙂

I LOVE this thing. TheSpouse asked if I had checked it out enough and wasn’t it time to pop it under the tree until Christmas. Muhahahaha never, never I say. I will not give it up for even one day! Ogo’s of the World Unite!

    Two things here.

The first is a hysterical take off of that old union saying “An injury to one is an injury to all” Meaning of course, that just because the problem occurring is not happing to us, it still can affect us or our future working conditions. Well this one shop has a super cute version for the children of the united. A little something to get them started down the proper path. 😀

The other thing I have already received as a present. That is an Ogo. http://attwireless.com/ogo/index.html I am in total and complete geek love. Yes I know I can get email on my cellphone, but it took forever, was hard to read and made me forward my email to a special address that they provided for me. Bleh! This is fast, and easy to read and lets me use my own pop3 email accounts (as well as my comcast cable one) and when I reply to people, it sends the message through my own account server. Yeah! This means of course that I can check AND respond to my emails with out using (or mis-using as they call it) my work computer. It also means that the emails will not have any annoying source tags tying them to my job.

I can also log on to my IM service without incurring the wrath of our IT guys. 😆 Have I mentioned that I am in serious love here? I sat though a very, very boring assemble the other day and was able to not only get my emails as they arrived, but relieve my boredom by answering them right then and there.

It was only 109.00 and after my 30.00 rebate will be 79.00. The service charge is 17.00 a month (only 10.00 more than the lame im/mlife/email fee on my slow @ssed cellphone) and I can use it anywhere my cellphone service is. This will save me having to pay 10.00 a night when on a trip to check my email. That is good, but what is better is that I am no longer even borrowing the work comp to check my mail. muhahahahaha! One less handle on them for us. 😀

I peeked around and found some info on the resturant menu in a few articles about the experience.
    .
There is Klingon Blood Wine and of course Trill wine. Some of the other items on the menu were Isolinear Chips & Dip, Salad of Kahless (legend has it that he spent 12 days and 12 nights in the kitchen coming up with this one), Wrap of Kahn, and get this, a Hamborger (hamBORGer). Other items were Keiko O’Briens Garden Pasta, and even the BBQ Continuum Pizza. The Cadet Menu (kids) included a Hugh Borger.

Of course you cannot leave without dessert! Try Jake’s Shakes, or even Frozen Gagh! (The Gagh is really Gummy Worms, but DO NOT tell the Klingons!).

Another report mentioned that you can Eat and drink as in the world of Star Trek, when you visit Quark’s Bar & Restaurant where you can dine on items such as Flaming Ribs of Targ and Final Frontier Desserts!

Guests have an extensive menu to choose from, including Pre-Launch Sequence (appetizers), Between The Decks (stellar sandwiches), Little Green Salads, A Pizza the Action (all pizzas are triangular-shield shaped), Command Decisions (entrees), and The Final Frontier (desserts).

🙂 Hope that answers some questions about the menu

Fortunately for me, a freind who had stayed at the mgm warned me about the long arms radiating out from the elevators. His advice was to get a room by the elevators, this was such a life saver at the MGM, I have done it at numerous large hotels since.

The costume change after that was even less exexplained. Who knew that a cryo-chamber could have a beautician attachment? She must have borrowed Kai’s custom chamber., with the Brunen-g ‘do restoration settings. But the wig was getting to her, and she thought that the costume made her look thick around the middle… so belly baring it was. 😀

I took theFather and theFatherGF to go see it this afternoon. It was still totally riviting. I was not the least bit bored even though I knew what was going to happen.

I think the way they showed how dispairing Bob was after thinking his family was gone was very well done. You really cared about his loss, the muffled sob as they left the room showing the abject loss he had just suffered, was most likely missed by the kids in the audience, but added a note of realism to the whole scene.

Oh… and the cape thingy? As soon as I saw Syndrome’s costume, I knew it was going to cause him trouble. 😛

But, on the plus side, I was able to zone out theSpouse, who was going through the change I think. So instead of getting a lawyer to get theCrankyOne off my case, I just watched Lexx. Again and again and again….. He found it difficult to be cranky when I was pausing the TV long enough for him to have a one-sided argument with me, and then when right back to my tapes. 😉 Eventually, I became hooked on the show, and he made it to the other side of the Change. So you could say Lexx saved my marriage, and I owe it all to Battle, the ep that caught my attention. 😆 I am now working on 22 plus years, so thank you Lexx.

No way of really telling, but some actors do change their names slightly when they go to different countries to fit in better. Also, I imagine it helps eliminate preconceived notions by the casting people. They see you and like your performance and don’t have any stereotypical baggage about your nationalistic character based on the inital viewing of your name. This is a small edge admittedly, but it might help you get auditions that you might otherwise have been passed over for.

More interesting though was Jamie Balmer being cast in this show. Interesting choice, he looks and has a lot of the facial expressions of the original Apollo. His previous work on the Hornblower series did not display the annoyance factor that the original Apollo actor use to sprinkle in every performance, so perhaps there is hope for this show.

I have peeked at a few posts elsewhere about this book. Gosh, can people get it wrong sometimes. 🙂

Valdron is NOT doing this to make a buck. Since he is not on the boards much any more, I do hope he misses that one. Actually, Valdron let me do this because I beg and am persistant. Ask FX or Tony, they’ll tell you. He wrote the book, and while I can understand his not wanting to go through the fuss of getting it published, I think he liked being able to get a few copies for his own uses. Perhaps some day, if there is never a Lexx Revival, he might take it and let it be listed as a Print On Demand (POD) product.

As to the cover design…. Hey! That is not a bad Photo-Shop design, can’t be… I don’t use Photo-Shop. But I will admit, that it is not the greatest cap I have ever seen. 😛

Bad theSpouse for messing up the comp with the vid-cap board. I am currently looking for a couple of really good high res shots of a mandrid arm and the planet Fire/Water with a night mask. Help! Barabbas! are you listening??? 😆

I will say there is only one problem with POD products…. cost. The cost of binding is just the start. I did a book as a gift for FX, last year that was just a bit larger than this and the base cost with binding and page pricing was about 18.00. Not alot for a present, but not really a mass market price when you consider that if you were really doing this for a buck, you would have to add a few. You know, little stuff like the cost of the site (7.00 a month) and then add a few bucks for the author, perhaps pay for art work rights and then of course, people would have to pay postage. So it can get kinda pricy real fast.

But, on the good side of POD, it lets you actually publish something with out a large initial order and that out lay of cash. Because even a small print run (and the shipping to get it to you) is not cheap. You might be able to get the book printed for 7.00 a piece but they might want you to buy (and ship) 500 copies minimum. 😛

I have met and very much like Ms. Seeburg, but I thought that the chemistry between Zev and Kai was much better. Doubtless this was due to Ms. Habermann being a bit young and inexperienced while playing a character who is experiencing life and love for the first time.

Due to the delay between Season 1 and Season 2 the cast commitments to do season 2 expired. So the various actors were free to pursue other offers.

Eva H had just signed an agreement to do a German Television show. She rearanged her schedule to allow some Bridge episodes to be films transfering the charter from Zev to Xev.

Various episodes were rearanged and the Zev melting into a pool of goo was filmed. 😉

Could Paramount go boldly where they have not gone before. Sure. Could they re-hash the old into a slicker new format? Sure. Are they going to? Perhaps, but mining old nuggets is a stock in trade for the enterainment industry.

What? You don’t want to see Johnny Depp someday playing James T. Kirk? 😉

They may well consider it, just think. Should they put the show on hold for five or ten years, that would give the original cast time to fade further. They then they could re-cast the darn thing with what ever up and coming hotties they like and snag a whole new audience.

Think of the cost savings! The entire franchise to plunder for story lines for the new cast. Lots of the design work has already been done, they could just pick and choose for the look they want… tweak both scripts and look and bada-boom bada-bing we are back in business and off and running at a substantial savings. 😀

They did the same thing to Mortisa in the Adams Family movies. Any time they did a close up of her, it was only her eyes lit.

As what? A featured snack on the Atkins diet? A visual form of birth control? You must be more specific. 😀

Sorry, but there is not one shread, smigen, or spec of truth in this one.

While several of the cast might like to do this, and Ms. Seeburg has aluded to it numerous times, not one whisper has emerged on this. And trust me, with all the Lexx fans looking for this news who know the various powers that be, if this was being considered some one would have heard something.

On the plus side, Ms. Donovan may be shooting some stuff on his Italina REn thingy, BORGIAS this january/feburary in Halifax. This is not carved in stone yet, but it has been mentioned. And…. there is a more that good chance that we might see a lexx guest or two in it. 😀
