I think Lexx should go on to season 7 or 8, then make more movies. Too many great sci-fi serieses have been cut short in the past. Lexx should be around long enough to reach its full potential, but not so long that its quality deteriorates. Future seasons should never be connected like the episodes in season 3, but rather like the season 2 stories, with an occasional two or three-parter.

Humans on Earth will be better than the Brunnen-G! All those other races are just mere shadows of humanity. By the time the Lexx makes it to Earth, it will be a fururistic paradise free of war, famine, disease, and sin.

The character may also have an inspiration in other mythology. Kai is the name of a brave warrior in the folklore of the Celts. I don’t know much about the legendary character, he wasn’t really a deity but he could walk on water (unlike our Kai).

Zev is meant for Stan. The writers just added Kai to the mix so there would be conflict. Kai doesn’t love her, and she doesn’t really love Kai. I think maybe she flirts with Kai to make Stan jealous.

According to rumor season four will take place on present-day Earth. There is no foundation for that besides fan speculations.

Lexx is clearly set in the far future. 18000 A.D. at the earliest. Otherwise there is no way for humanoids like Kai and humans like Stanley Tweedle to exist in space.
In Lexx 1.1 Kai specifically states that “…my people led humanity to victory in the war against the Insect civilization.” That means that the Brunnen-G are just a sect of humanity (this one specifically adapted for war, in the same manner that the Potataho’ens were adapted for agriculture and the Gollean Clan was adapted for menial labor.

The idea of humans evolving separately on different planets is not only bad sci-fi, it’s profoundly anti-Darwinian! It doesn’t take Clifford Pickover to tell that the Lexx creators intended the universes to have been colonized by our ancestors.

When the Lexx lands on Earth, it will either be a Star Trek-style futuristic paradise or a Terminator-style post-apocolyptic nightmare. My theory is that the Lexx Earth will be a pristine utopia, threatened by an Insect menace only our heroes can stop.

Humans evolved on Earth and colonized the various planets in the Dark Zone. Then they discovered th fractal core and a few came to settle in the Light Zone. The Brunnen-G, B3K, Austral-B Robots, Sub-Nebuli, Klaagians, Potataho’ens, Gollean, Nookians, Downstairs People, etc. are all descended from Terran space travellers. The Insects, Cluster Lizards, Satellite Worms, and Trins are precious few true aliens of completely inhuman descent (and most of them are named after Terran animals!. In the fourth season and beyond, we need to see more aliens, and preferrably learn more about the ones already introduced (especially the Insects ).

    C. Brate-That’s eerie, when I was describing Lexx, to someone and I said “Brunnen-G” they said “Running G.? That’s a cool name!”

It’s spelled realistically, just pronounced like Brúnnen or Brünnen. Sounds sort o’ like Gaelic.

Patrick Renna has been in a lot of things. He is probably best known for his portrayal of Ronnie Strickland the vampire in the X-Files episode Bad Blood, but he was also in The Sandlot and a bunch of commercials (Surge, 1-800-COLLECT, etc.), plus a lot of other film and T.V. work. He played a teen victim in Lexx 2.10: Wake the Dead.

I suppose Malcolm McDowell is a fairly big name, but Tim Curry is hardly a well-known actor (outside of cult circles), and I’d never even heard of Ellen Dubin before Lexx. Who is Maury Chaykin?

“You fought in the Clone Wars?”
    -Luke Skywalker

“Yes. I was once a Jedi Knight, the same as your father.”
    -“Ben” Kenobi

“General Kenobi; years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars, now he begs you to help him in this struggle against the Empire.”
    -Princess Leia

“Episode II will be about the Clone Wars, and the blossoming love between Anakin and the Queen.”
    -George Lucas

You heard right, Star Wars: Episode II will finally give us a glimpse of the oft-mentioned series of conflicts that precipitate the fall of the Old Republic. The Clone Wars were started by Darth Sidious, and involved the illegal genetic duplication of Mandalorian warriors on the planet Kamino.

I have been following information, rumors, and speculations on the new installment in the Star Wars saga, and according to what is allegedly from an inside source, the film will start with the Battle of Condawn (Concord Dawn in some versions) on Alderaan.

It has been officially confirmed that Ahmed Best will be returning to again give life to Jar Jar Binks, but it is also clearly stated that it will be a cameo appearance equalling less than 15 minutes. George Lucas says he will be less silly, reflecting the need for seriousness in the new, harsher Galaxy of the Wars. Also, persistant yet unsubstantiated rumors hold that Jar Jar’s wife will also appear. Best is not in the Episode III cast. I’m not sure if I should be posting this in a board for Farscape, but BlackCloud sort of asked for it.

“Garden” was good, but not great. This season has all been so-so episodes, no really good ones, no really bad ones.

The artistic designs for Garden were wonderful. I thought it was an interesting premise, but the Garden idea wasn’t expanded on much, instead it just turned into a lame vehicle for bringing back Lyekka. Episodes of “Lexx” often start out promising, then degenerate into another sex-romp with Stan trying to “get some.”

I liked the gardeners, though. It’s refreshing to finally get some female characters that aren’t sluts or cannibals. But they weren’t developed and came across as one-dimensional. Stanley, Zev, and Kai all seem out of character. Stan seems willing to let the Lexx crash and stay on Water, and choses to have Lyekka brought back, not considering the consequences, then doesn’t seem to hold the gardeners’ lives at any value as long as the plant girl lives. Zev seems to just wander around then act Prince-ishly evil and mutinous. that Kai thing was just stupid, I think the writers just couldn’t think of anything for him to do, so wrote that in.

It is nice to see Lyekka back, but I wanted the old Lyekka (I never believed she really died in “The End of the Universe”), not just another Trin taking the form of Stanley’s dream girl. How did those gardeners get ahold of that seed, anyway? Is this going to be explained, or abandoned like so many other “Lexx” loose ends?

I seems to me like a lot of old actors are reappearing this season (some of whose characters are already dead!). The writers need to get more original ideas.

Nothing gets resolved, and Prince doesn’t even appear (unless that parrot was him shapeshifting again). The episode could have been so much more, but in the end it was a mediocre half-story in the spirit of “Tunnels.”

I don’t know anything about “Farscape.” I might have to start watching it for a glimpse of “Star Wars”actors. But I do know the characters they play in the upcoming film. Marton Csokas, under alien makeup, will portray Poggle the Lesser, a Geonosian leader and opposer of the Clone Wars. Jack Thompson has been cast as Cliegg Kenobi, Obi-Wan’s non-Jedi brother.

Major: There are many access point where they could potentially enter the Lexx…

Divine Shadow: They cannot control the Lexx.

Major: We are closing all the throughputs.

Divine Shadow: General, do you believe that time flows in a straight line?

General: I have observed that time is continuous.

Divine Shadow: Major, do you believe that time travels in a circle, that it is possible to see into the future by looking into the past?

Major: I am not aware of any such Divine teaching.

Divine Shadow: So you do not believe that it is possible?

    Major: No, Divine Shadow.

Divine Shadow: I am a more complex being than my Divine Predecessors. Unlike them, I do not believe that time travels in a circle, and therefore I do not believe in prophecies.

    General: Divine Shadow?

    Divine Shadow: Yes.

General: How shall we deal with the Heretics?

Divine Shadow: We shall ensure that they make their way to the Special Project uncontested. The time has come to prove that all prophecies are false, that no one can know the future, major.

    Major: Yes, Divine Shadow.

    Divine Shadow: Kill him.

    Major: Kill him?!?

    Divine Shadow: Yes, kill him.

    General: I worship His Shadow.

Divine Shadow: Thank you. Now, kill yourself.

    Major: Kill myself?

Divine Shadow: Yes. Now. Kill yourself.

    Major: But I…wha…?

    Divine Shadow: Shoot yourself.

Major: I worship His Divine Shadow.

Garden is a really odd episode. I’m curious to find out what others think about it Monday. Battle and Girltown are also rather strange.

I don’t understand how those could possibly be stranger than “K-Town.”

That doesn’t sound right. “Lexx” does not have famous guest stars. The biggest names on the show are Rutger Hauer, Wayne Robson, and Patrick Renna. “Lexx” actors aren’t in anything else big, either. It’s an isolated show.

I’ve had a couple dreams where I was Kai (I know, I’m weird ). Actually, a friend of mine says I’m a lot like Kai. I don’t know if she was complimenting or insulting me…

I don’t know why people see science fiction as being any less bona fide than other forms of fiction. Shows like “Lexx” and “Star Trek” have just as well-written plots as mainstream shows, as well as their own creative exoticism. A show is not a comedy just because it is not like real life.

It’s not just you. This site is broken or something. Yesterday I saw there was a new post on “Thoughts on the next season” and I couldn’t see if they were agreeing with me or not.

I think Sci-Fi showed quite enough!

“The Key” was a great episode, especially after the boring “Tunnels.” It certainly wasn’t a filler, I don’t understand why you people don’t like it. Its only real problems were Stan’s sort of out-of-character dialog and that awful scene with the dry ice and electrodes and junk.

Prince is neither male nor female (I still think he’s an Insect). He/she/it has bodies that can be male or female, so in this episode “he” really is really female.

It would be nice if this topic could be eliminated and the posts transferred to the other “Key” string.

I was thinking “The Key” was possibly the worst episode of “Lexx” ever…then they hit me with the suprise ending! NEVER saw that coming!

I was thinking the writers had gone insane, making Kai fall for Zev, but his true motives were ultimately explained. What I wonder is what order Zev/Prince was going to give the Lexx when Stan interrupted.

790 was funny (as always) with the “I’ll admit I’d never thought much of her…” line. I guess the Robot’s curcuits really were damaged in that fall.

I was thinking this episode would mark the end of the Fire-Water saga (not to mention a major change in Stan and Zev’s relationship), but it seems the “Lexx” writers fooled me again.

Try to figure out the moral of this episode…

What I posted are the Time Prophet’s exact words (“Shadow,” not “Order” or “Insect”). If you’ll watch “Lexx 1.4: The Giga Shadow” that’s what she says! In “Brigadoom” the words are not the same, but since that is a recreation I see it as less accurate than the original source.
