Krisia, I am not exactly sure what exactly this is. Is this like for the Meet the Sims kind of game? Or something different? Is there a site where people can go look at the Star Trek stuff to see if it would be something they were interested in?

Okay, saw the Movie…. Me? I liked it. I though they did an excellent job of animating Garfield. Very beleivable, yet at the same time it retained it cartoonish aspects.

Bill Murray did an excellent job of doing the voice. I just loved his tired cynic in the fat cat. Breckin Meyer who played Jon looks very much like a young Noah Wyle, Priates of silicon Valley – Steve Jobs. He did a good job of playing straight man to a cartoon.

Was it thrilling? No.
Did theSpouse fall asleep? Yep
Did all the kids in the audience seem to love it? Yep yep.
Would I pay to see it again? No.
Will I buy the DVD when it comes out? Yes.
Did theSpouse start snoring? Oh yea. Loud.
Did I enjoy myself while watching it? Yes, very much.

This movie was a cartoon brought to life. The jokes and humour were for the most part very gentle. While I think Bill Murray could have run with a more scathing script… I am not sure it would have been true to the comic version. And this was, very much. If you like the comic strip, you will like this. If you want to see the simeese cat from across the street, leap into the air and take out the doberman like something out of Matrix… stay home. ;D Or at least warn your partner, that they will have to be on snore alert. ;D

Well I know Lubka has some stuff on her Russian site. but I am not sure if it is the resolution you are looking for.

Since the site is in Russian, I either just stumble around it until I find what I am looking for, or get up on her Live Journal and put out a cry of help.

This is an example of the caps I could find. http://www.lexx-net.ru/SPcups/sparts.htm Are they a resolution that works for you? If so, we can ask her if the other ones are still up.

Oh goodie. Those nice Bush people sent me another postage paid envelope and a picture of George and Mrs George to write on. I decide to do little speech bubbles on this one.

George- Well dear, I never did find those WMD in Iraq.

Mrs. George – Did you have them check the sofa cushions dear, that is where most lost items end up.

I know, not too funny, but I wanted to change up a bit from the last time I sent them one. But this was sent to me and it is a bit funnier. It is by Humorist Andy Borowitz, a published not-true-but-funny satiric news report:

INSPIRED BY IRAQI HANDOVER, BUSH HOLDS U.S. ELECTION FOUR MONTHS EARLY

Element of Surprise Cited As Bush Romps to Victory

Inspired by the early handover of sovereignty in Iraq, President George W. Bush employed the element of surprise once more last night, holding the U.S. presidential election four months early.

The election, about which only top Bush administration officials were notified, went exceedingly well for the president, who carried all fifty states and garnered approximately one hundred percent of the vote.

Mr. Bush’s victory speech, which he had originally scheduled for eleven P.M. last night, was at the last minute rescheduled to nine P.M., once again capitalizing on the element of surprise.

In his speech, Mr. Bush admitted that he might have had a more difficult time getting reelected if the American people had actually been notified about the time and date of the voting, but added, “A win’s a win, right?”

Mr. Bush’s second inauguration is slated to take place on January 20, 2005, but administration officials acknowledged that it could happen “at any time.”

“For all I know it has already happened,” one aide said.

While the stealth presidential election seems to have cemented the Bush administration’s reputation for secrecy, one aide said that some secrets were harder to keep than others: “For example, everyone knows how Paul Wolfowitz gets his hair to look so great.”

White House officials praised the performance of the controversial new Diebold electronic voting machines, which successfully tabulated final results from Florida before a single vote was cast.

All right! A whizzing main menu. 🙂 This is a guy thing right? 😉

I have a wish too…. but I am not sure if it is possible…. when someone goes off the main page to the forum section, can it expand to show the two or three topics in each forum? Or can we at least try it on some of our more active forums? I think it will help the posting…. since one something gets pushed off the main page, you may not know where it is even if you want to comment on it. Or, if you are just peeking, perhaps something in a forum you normally would not think to look in, might catch your attention.

I do wonder about the deadlines though…. they almost don’t make it every ep. I thought it was just dramatic flair until the ep, where they flat didn’t make it.. I think the lifters were too long or something in the harley engine and they kept it from starting.

Nice Geeky site. Cool geek gear.

A few of you may be clueing into the fact that outsourcing bugs me…. so it was a relief to find something that touched on the lighter side of the subject.

Although, I think the whole thing is due to come to a crashing halt here soon.

When they were just outsourcing the working slobs in the factory, no one cared…. If we shut down all the factories, the air quality will improve (true and much cheaper than those pesky pollution control devices) and Walmarts will be able to get cheaper goods.

When they out sourced the call centers no one cared…. The people working there are marginal and they really don’t count do they?

Now, when they started cutting into your midlevel clerks…. people started to fuss a bit. But they were told, go back to school and re-train. They are doing so, but they are screaming every step of the way.

Now, we have your high dollar people being affected… Engineers, Doctors, Lead Programmers and the like. You know, the people the clerkly ones were suppose to train to be. Anyhow, these high dollar talent are not people who take beng shuttled aside lightly. They are starting to growl, and not being entirely stupid they are forming coalitions with the other groups.

When programmers approach labor unions, I think either a bright new day or Armageddon is approaching. What do you think? 😀

I do think that this movie would have been better if it had been a bit longer.

Which is why I thought the next one should be a two parter. There is so much information in the current portion of the story, that it really suffered from being compressed down to a normal (ish) movie size.

Why delete the posts. Many of us have sent fellow fans items not otherwise available to them. Some of use send them free and some of us get reembursed for media (dvd/VHS/floppy ect) and postage.

So it would depend on what you paid for your media. Normally between 1.25 large packs and 2.00 small packs around here. Plus a bit more (1.00?) for a case that can stand up to email and an envelope. And then peeps would need to know where you live so people can figure postage costs. 🙂

Earlier this month, the Bush/Cheney campaign featured a tool on their website that allowed ordinary citizens—like you and I!—to add inspirational messages and slogans to a Bush/Cheney campaign poster template. It was a beautiful thing to hear the collective voice of the people; it was like seeing a hundred flowers bloom.

For some mysterious and unknown reason, though, the website recently pulled the ability to create one’s own campaign slogans. Possibly when the anti-Bush slogans began out numbering the Pro-Bush stuff.

Apparently, several forums and blogs were having contests. Plus many people were printing out the Anti-Bush posters were being printed and posted in campus’ and at work.

But honestly…. what were they thinking in Bush central…. it was just too much to resist!

S1 – I Worship His Shadow I was floored by the visuals. While some of the sets were a bit on the skimpy side, the entire movie had a very different look than any other ‘Space’ movie I had seen.

S2 – Wake the Dead of course. Kai chews the scenery and literally lets his hair down. 😆

S3 – Battle This is the episode that got me watching the series. I was passing through theSpouse’s TV room as was stopped by the gorgeous shots of the balloons against the horizon. This is also when I first heard what Lexx was all about. “Well this dead guy with the bun on this head, some nympo lizard chick and a really dumb captain all fly around in a big bug ship.” When I commented that the dead guy was moving quite a bit for one who was deceased, I was informed that he was a “special kind of dead.”

S4 – Vlad Who can resist an episode with a really butch chick with a cone of hair like that? 🙂 And the Kai Yo-yo

I guess the question is going to be do the actors WANT to do all seven? Since they are on screen pretty much all the time, and on screen as in the book, it is usually all three of them at once, they don’t get many breaks.

Also, since unlike adult actors they have a full time gig trying to complete their education when they are not filming…. They don’t have the opportunity to do smaller parts in other things so they can break out of this role and have another body of work to build on once they become adults.

Yes, and as I mentioned previously this untapped group are not cyber-Lexx fans. Well everyone, it is time for an another edition of CONnie’s Mailbag. And today we will be checking out all the messages received on the RV/Atlanta Question….

K writes – DCon is not currently RV friendly… I have a friend who really wanted to do it this way as well. The closest thing we could come up with was camping around Stone Mountain driving to the Marta and taking that in.

D writes – Agree’d. Speaking as someone who Did camp at Stone Mountain last year it was fairly affordable but the drive to the Con was about 15-20 minutes. Not bad by any means on a straight shot with only one or two turns on the highway to the hotels. But as far as I know we didn’t see any public transportation that went from the “mountain” to the atlanta area.
My wife and I love camping so it was no big for us. Stone Mountain is wonderful and in Sept. not to crowded. Though the labor day weekend is one of the last camping weekends for the year so there were more than I would have expected.
On a side note, I was told, and found online, some campsites on the otherside of atlanta closer to Six Flags. I was told, I don’t know it for a fact, that those were cheaper and closer. I don’t know for
sure.
I guess you could call Atlanta’s information or possibly the chamber of commerce. No harm checking.

F writes – I live on the West side of atlanta and used to live in Stone Mountain.
MARTA has a bus route that goes from Stone Moutnain to downtown Atlanta, but i don’t know the schedule you keep. See the schedule: http://www.itsmarta.com/getthere/schedules/120.htm#maps
As for the west side. Hum. There are/were RV places around Six Flags over GA, which is by I-20 and a straight shot to downtown (20 minutes). There is a bus that goes to the MARTA Train line (Holmes station) that goes from about 3 miles from Six Flags. There is also parking for cars at the rail line. You’d have to change trains at 5 points and head north, but you’d end up close to the con. http://www.itsmarta.com/getthere/schedules/201.htm
I called Six Flags Over GA and they gave me this campground: Atlatnta West Campgrounds. 770-941-7185.
It looks like a 5 mile drive to the train station. Thorton Road is a 6 lane road to I-20. Find them at:
http://www.campingnavigator.com/campgrounds/719.html
Hope this helps. Stone Mountain is MUCH nicer place to park, in my onion.

M wrote – There also may be some campgrounds to the south near the Atlanta Motor Speedway, but I have no idea if they would be further away than any of the ones already mentioned.
My name is Patrick Mugai from Kenya in East Africa aged 26. I first watched Lexx in 2001 which i believe is the first season. Our local TV station aired only about 8 episodes and the shelved it. I’ve tried locating Lexx in all video libraries in Kenya but with no luck. So i’ve now joined the Lexx funclub and i’am humbly appealing 2 any member of our club in the world who may have season 1 or 2 or any episode at all 2 send it 2 me on the address below.
Since i watched Lexx for the first time i became a fanatic its just 2
bad i cannot locate any episode at all for the past 3 years. So if i
can get any help from any one out there i shall be eternally greatful.

Have a nice day.(I use both VHS & DVD)

Dear CONnie,

I want to drive my RV to Dragon Con and was wondering if
anyone could give me information on places to camp in Atlanta where I would be as close to the convention as possible with some method of public transportation to the event.

Thank you,

R.S.

Dear R.S.

Nothing is turning up that states that it is in Atlanta…. but your question has been asked on the American SF panel’s board. Many of whom have been DragonConning for many years… So they may know. Also, perhaps we need to ask HDS when next he surfaces, as he works in Atlanta and lives just outside of it.

If worse comes to worse, there are a few of the convention hotels that have Truck & Trailer/Rv Parking, possibly something could be worked out there with some of our Lexxians who are guests of the hotel. We will post here if anything comes up.

Crossing our fingers,

CONnie
