I usually bump it up, but I forget sometimes. Something permanent like we have here would be just great. Well I thought it was repulsive, but I think a lot of things are, so I usually try to give the stuff the benefit of the doubt.

But… but…. my darling.. we are fussing. And that is always interesting.

And there are no new eps to talk about.
And the conventions are all too far away to get excited about.
And we do like them. They be family, and we always chat about family.

Oh, bad news then sport, as I get an immediate email of all threads that come into my forums. Once they are on my system they become part of my email archives. However, please be assured that I have no intention of plagiarism, or rereading it for my own private pleasure. The material becomes archive only.

Concerning the mater of post removal, I fully support Flame’s action. As I am super sensitive to material of that nature, I often will err on the side of being too lenient. I do this for fairness’ sake. I know I don’t like something, but knowing that, I try to give it the benefit of the doubt. The first half was written with a very talented lady named Jade Nocturnias, She was very good at dialog. Unfortunately RL intruded since this was taking so long to finish. We were up to about 20 pages when Jade had to devote more attention to RL. I just hope the transition from team writing to just my writing is not too glaring. The story currently stands at 45 pages or so, and I figure I have another 5 to go to finish it up.

    quote
elmey -This story is lots of fun frey, though you’d think with thousands of memories to draw on Kai could have dredged up a flower arranger
Well I don’t remeber seeing a whole lot of evidence of flower arranging in the first movie. But… I am pretty sure that the Brunen-g were into it. However… who says Kai doesn’t know about the art of flowers. He is under no obligation to tell Prince that. And he did say that he didn’t know what Xev would like, so he brought a good selection… I imagine she liked the brush like teasles REAL WELL.

First – I am switching my focus to work on the assumption that we WILL have at least one Lexx cast member at DragonCon 2003. I will of course go for more, but we do already have a great amount of interest from three of them, and I KNOW we can get at least one. Unfortunately, the Dragon Con Guest Relations organizers will not be meeting until sometime in January, so no chance of an announcement until then. Sucks huh.

Second – Spread the word, I entreat you to start pushing the DragonCon people to let us have a few guests and forums of our own. Not to be greedy, but I know we could fill at least 10 time forum slots with out any problems. Hey if the Buffy people could have a whole track, why shouldn’t we have at least a half-track (no puns intended) Contact info was in Trini’s excellent post at http://www.sadgeezer.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=22&t=000100 Don’t forget to be upbeat in your contacts. We love the nice Dragon Con people. (anyone interested helping to work the forum if we get them scheduled? I can post a list of possible topics if there is any interest.)

Third – I will soon start fundraising efforts to pay for incidental UScon expenses. (No, not mine silly, theSpouse pays those. ) But if we are going to do this thing right, we will need some bucks, because occasionally these things cost money. We may want to rent a party room, or take our guests to dinner or…. whatever.

Anyhow, I will start on a set of Klones to be raffled off, on ebay most likely. And one or two other people have said that they may be able to donate Lexx crafts to be raffled off. If you have anything that you would like to donate, please contact me. If you know of someone who makes something neatly Lexxish and think that they might be interested in helping, please contact them and ask them to contact me at thefrey@thefrey.com

Fourth – Don’t forget, the con badges are going at a discount right now until November 15, 2002. The price for all four days is only $40.0, heck that is only a ten bucks a day. I believe a one day pass cost 30.00 at the door last year, so this is a bargain.

Well I have never had a problem with any of my posts on Lexx.com.

I was once part of a thread cleanisng though. Great fun that. I was caught up in it, and some of it was directed at me, but since I was not the cause of it being deleted, it didn’t bother me.

But let me tell you.. better that than the Scifi.com mess. *shudder*

But I do think the Season 4 spoiler rule is silly. Most people who really want to see the eps have seen them. It is confussing on the bored and stifling to Lexx fandom in the chat. IMHO And hey, I could be wrong.

There is a first time for everything ya know. 😛

Bummer, but that will happen anywhere but Scifi.com. Life is like that sometimes. Sometimes it has more to do with the traffic of the individual board, sometimes it is moderator prefrence. Happily here, the rules for the nature of the traffic and the moderators prefrence agree. (Well they have to wouldn’t they, since I wrote the rules )

    quote
I do not know how Sadgeezer set up the consitution for his site; but sci-fi is the exploration of the new and unknown – setting limits seems to go against the spirit of sci-fi. I guess you can tell I am a big “freedom of speech” advocate.
Yes all the Fic and Art forums have rules. And they are watched fairly closely. I don’t know about Flame, but all the forums I moderate send me an email with the contents of the new post immediately. Infact the only thing that will make me log on to Sadgeezer while at work, is to get rid of or edit an offensive post. I will do it, but it would make me quite cranky, since I do not like to use the work comp for anything but checking email. The rules for fic, are pretty much identical to the other forums, and can be found here http://www.sadgeezer.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=26&t=000002

We have had some pretty good stuff in the past and I look forward to seeing more in the future. One thing I find interesting is the insight I gain into the authors mind, by their handling of various subject matter.

    quote
d) I feel that there is less secrecy from the admin. than at some other forums. I just want to test out this theory: theFrey, how did you become a moderator here? No, on second thought, don’t answer that. I’ve heard that the first rule for a moderator is that you don’t reveal how you became a moderator.
Actually I have only recently heard that rule. And since I didn’t hear about it here it does not apply here.

Some people struggle and scheme (teasing) for moderatorship and some people have it thrust upon them. I was actually a moderator at Sad’s for a week before I even knew it. I was made a moderator for my services to the site. *sniff* I was so, so …. Proud.

Perhaps the fact that I am a quick study also helped. I went from seeing my first Lexx episode in April of 2001 to knowing every decent Lexx site on the web in three months. Unrelenting emails and a visa card also enabled me to see every available episode by that time, a big help in getting me up to speed Lexx wise. If you think back, the only thing commercially available in US or CAN at that time were the first four movies.

But no matter where I roam, I come back here, because I like it the best. I am glad to be Sad.

So your thoughts on the whole thing would be?

Me personally? Leave it alone. With a few exceptions most people believe in some god.

For instance I worship at the altar of technology and frequently beg the techno gods (yes it is a multiple god head) to strike down blasphemers who profane their hardware. One particular prayer that I have is that they one day smite, all the people that lay their CD’s in a pile of clutter on their desk and then pluck another filthy, dusty Cd out of the pile and jam it into the machine. I pray that these heathens will be struck by an electrical discharge from a faulty surge suppressor. Not as flashy as lighting, but then the Techno gods work in mysterious ways.

However, we do have a dress code. Of course it keeps changing on us. Let me think…

It was Ballgowns, Crowns, and Robes of State. Then it became tight leather bits and high boots with chain and stuff dangling everywhere. And the last dress code change was the Velvet hooded priest robes with your choice of a very tasteful insense burner hanging from glided chains or a staff carved with runes and topped with a with a large rough crystal. I think that was all of them… did I miss any?

Unfortunately, dispite repeated requests, Sad does not give us a clothing allowance.

    Sigh…..

Any how, hitch up you Divine Order of Sadgeezer robe and sit a spell.
