Hello Midori, One of the reasons that HDS is here is because he recently spent the weekend with two of the Sadgeezer.com moderators. Another is because I requested his presence. And I am sure the third is because at this point in time, we are discussing something that interests him. I have not noticed that he stopped posting on Lexx.com, nor for that matter have I. At present, with the US doing re-runs, the Lexx.com site is going to be overrun with new people asking the same questions again and again. This is not necessarily bad, because it does happen, but people sometimes need a break from it.

On to another topic, I noticed that you posted some stuff in the Lexx art section, but now that thread is gone. I managed to trace down two of the designs, which were very nice, but the Kai one seems to be missing. What happened to it and the thread.?

As I have said before, the dead do not… do anything they don’t want to do any time they don’t want to do it. It seems to me that the dead spend a lot of time justifing their actions or lack thereof. I think that the dead can be quite motivated when they want to be. Witness Kai’s apparent revenge wish when Tina was killed. Why was he motivated in that particular situation? Perhaps because annoying or not, she did get him the information that he needed on Vlad.

I don’t think that will be a problem. He said he was thinking of having Tony remove him from that forum anyhow. But who knows. Given a bit to recover from his Halifax trip, he might change his mind.

Thanks Cat. Sad set it up, so that when someone posts to a forum I moderate, it immediately sends me an email. That way if someone flames and then changes their post, I know the contents of the original post. It also lets me keep track of the board at work and when I am away and can’t surf. If I see something in my mail that DEMANDS a reply or response, I can take care of it, but I don’t have to log onto Sad’s to keep up with my boards.

My company doesn’t mind us checking our email. But they might get miffed if I logged onto Sadgeezers several times a day.

Which pin are you talking about? Pins are dead easy to make. They can be in peweter, resin, pot metal or plastic. My brother casts stuff at least once a month in all these materials.

I have been pondering a modified moth breeder costume. Something on the order of a t-shirt weight sweat suit with the rest of the gear to go on it. But I haven’t worked out all the details yet since I have been non-stop since I got home. Something that is fun, yet would fit different sizes. And of course Brunnen-g female and elder outfits in the rainbow hues would be easy to make. I did toy with the idea of doing my self a Master of Ceremonies out fit, but who am I kidding. I would most likely be busy and want my pockets d*mn it.

But has been taking up most of my thoughts were the pendants and banners for the parade. Hummmm, I shall have to refresh myself on painted silk tecniques. I thought a few large floating Lexx banners with gauzy streamers might be nice. And then perhaps a few smaller moth pendants to swirl arround would be pretty. A lexxian in Russian gave me a few excellent moth pics to use as I need them. And I have a thought on the little stinger ship, but I have to think about that one more. After all, why should the Klingons be the only ones with the little pendants and flags?

Actually it was said to one of them… but I can’t remember who did it. Gosh, I hope it wasn’t me. But it was that one short guy who’s costume didn’t fit at all in the back because he was short. At that time, the unforgiving nature of that costume was discussed, and I mentioned the too tall storm trooper that I had also noticed.

I’m on page five right now. I hope to have it done by thursday. So hopefully Tonly can post it Friday or Saturday. Many, many thanks to Todd (HDS’s Brother-in-law) for the extra pictures to fill out my report.

You all were wonderful. I enjoyed every minute of it, and I am glad I got a chance to meet Tini and her Hubby, Stephene,Mandara K, flame, HDS and of course the lovely Tree and her Brother Todd!

Tree deserves an extra vote of thanks for being such a fine Xev, and not complaining once about wearing the killer boots for three days in a row! Yeah Tree!

This wave of gravitational flux (very scientific!!) causes the portals to the other zone(s)to stretch and open in unexpected shifting patterns. The ripple effects continue for a length of time, like aftershocks of an earthquake. (They continue for as long as needed for plot purposes–I’d say for a good part of Series 5). Little Lexx, being inexperienced in space, drifts in and out of these portals, and ends up inside a partial Universe.

Oh, very nice Elmey! That could be used to create lots of fun. Perhaps the ripples would bring Prince’s ship in to the picture at plot perfect times and such.

Xev in a moment of weakness turns to Stan for comfort. Naturally Stan loses the key to her immediately. Little Lexx, by the way is female. She is also going to be smarter that her father Lexx. She chose Stanley as her Captain, and she is miffed that he gave up the key. She obeys Xev because of the key, but she is going to let Stanley know that he should have taken his responsibility more seriously….

Well that would be a good thing too, Making Little Lexx less likely to follow Xev’s orders with out being persuaded. Perhaps, Stan would have to chime in and add his plea’s to Xev’s orders. That way Xev would sometimes have to have Stan’s support when LL was feeling particularly stubborn. Lots of nice conflict possibilities there. Especially since neither Stan nor Xev are very good at making air tight deals.

Ditto. Humm, perhaps somehow in one of these newly formed partial universes they could find a Kai archetype? Who woke up there like Prince just wakes up somewhere new. One that is basically Kai, without his memories. Stan and Xev would have to persuade him to join them. When and if the repellant Robot head is found, a Kai much more willing to take a hard line with the evil thing.

A Kai that Xev would have a chance with…. if he were not so wary of her, and wondering if she likes him or just the memory of the old Kai. I am sorry, but that unrequited love thing is a plot point constant! Who am I to buck tradition?

None, nada, zip. Nothing in Viva Lexx Vegas was filmed in Nevada. Although in a composite shot they did drive past the Barbary Coast Hotel. You might want to ask Micro how that was, since she stayed there during the UScon Lexx Vegas.

I stayed at the MGM Grand, and I do not recommend it. It was nice enough in the rooms, but the hotel itself is too huge, with no good gathering areas, and everything spread from one end to the other. No matter where you go, ask for a room by the elevators, or you will spend a lot of time traipsing down very, very long hallways.

I was impressed by the Luxor though, which I think is what inspired the “King Tut Hotel” in the episode. (They have a King Tut Lounge there) Every thing seemed to be centrally located just an escalator ride away. You might get on the UScon yahoo list and ask Catrice about it. She stayed there the year before, and very much liked it. But what is not to like? A two story pharaoh statue is impressive. I think the Egyptian pharaoh style translates very well into the over the top Las Vegas style.

Oh, one thing I didn’t get to do which I really wanted to do was take in the magic/dinner show at Cesar’s Palace. We (me and the Brit kids) took tour of the area between the magic shows and were most impressed.

Perhaps he comes back in the same way that Prince always does, and is something not quite human? A petty godling in training? An elemental force?

Several episodes to find Kai? Art thou insane? I couldn’t wait that long for MMM twack to show up, besides it is an hour ep… or better a two hour season opener. So plenty of time to spend searching.

790 can stay lost an ep or two for all I care, I wouldn’t mind a bit.

Pleanty of time to work in Preist Bunny and Prince in future episodes… as you said it doesn’t all have to happen at once. There are lots of other plot hooks to set, yet not necessarily answer.

How did they end up in this place.

How is it that they even find Kai, it might not be a whole or real planet, but it still looked like a big place.

How did Kai end up there.

Does he know he is Kai?

Is he real or is it just a manifestation of his spirit like prince was?

If he is just a spirit will he be able to leave this place?

But if he is real, will he be able to pull a Prince and develop a real body?

What affect did the trama of becoming alive and then being blown to bits have on him?

Is he even sane as we know it (or even by the looser Lexx standards)

Does he remeber anything from his time as a Divine Assissian? Or did his spirit revert to it’s first death.

If there was personality alteration (temporary or not) does he even like Stan and Xev now?

Where did those spirits from the destroyed earth go?

Will they manifest themselves in someway? And if so when, where and how?

How and when will they meet up with Prince, Preist and Bunny?

    Will Bunny stay innocent?

Can she convince Preist to resist Prince’s evil?

And what exactly is going to happen to the ship board bimbo’s?

Are the Bimbo’s going to make a play for Kai. (well duh) and what problems will this cause..

    Important questions all.

    Our story begins…

Little Lexx, not being fully trained, stumbles into one of the half demsions that the game took place in. 790 is aboard, but has Stan and Xev don’t yet know it. They have two moths which much be protected, and somehow against all logic (this being Lexx) Kai is alive or sort of alive, on this demension.

How is he alive, and how do they find him?

    Per Chris Bould – Director.
In regard to the net and the web, a lot of viewers didn’t think the differences were great enough between the two to merit an entire second episode. Did you have any say in the format the two episodes took?

Those two were done at a difficult time in the production of Lexx. Then, a great friend of mine, Norman Denver, was producing the show. It was at the very end of the season, and time and money were running out. They were the “bottle-neck” shows. Where usually I had eight days for an episode, I only had nine days for both of these. It was Norman who “asked me if I minded doing this ludicrous schedule”. Of course, I said yes.

If you had the chance to change anything about these two episodes, what would you have done differently to make the differences in the two episodes more dramatic?

Oh, I don’t know. *chuckle* Asked for more money? A guest star? Anything would have helped. None of those were possible due to the time and budget constraints. Even a little more time to explain the differences in the story a little better might have helped.

Well I did do something close. I got my VHS tapes and then emailed every address I could come up with …. and quite a few I winged but that went through, and told them that it was a great show, but I would have much rather given them the money. I lamented the fact that the bootlegs were not quite as clear as a professional tape… but since they were readily available, I would just have to make do.

What am I saying… that couldn’t be it…. that would take marketing savy. Forget I mentioned it.
