FlamegrapeParticipantHere is the “story” that Fatguy posted:
quote:
Hi Folks; this is my first attempt at fanfick, so be gentle. I have deliberately not read any stories in this forum so as not to influence my first piece. With that in mind; if I unintentionally reproduce anyones storyline, let me know and I will delete this thread.
Ok, here goes – a short story that takes off from the final episode Yo Way Yo (so if you have not seen this episode – do not read further):A Very Short Season Five.
There they were together; Stan and Xev in the new baby LEXX. Kai was dead and 790 was eaten. Stan decided that now was the time. The moment he had been waiting 4,000 years for – his greatest moment.
He did not realize how it started, but here he was choking Xev with all his might. Xev looked bewildered at Stan and croaked “Stanley”; but Stanley only squeezed harder. Stan was amazed that Xev did not fight back or morph into a cluster lizard, he expected more. Instead she mearly turned a light tint of blue, then her tongue stuck out and her eyes rolled up and that was it he figured. Stan sat back. but just as he did so Xev let out an hugh gasp and started to flail her arms violently. This time Stan squeezed her neck with all his might as she fought back; but then she relented and died defecating and urinating herself toward the end.
Stanley was a mess with blood (some his, some from Xev), feces and urine all over him. He looked back toward Xev, she was dead, her eyes staring at the ceiling of the LEXX. All of a sudden Stanley convulsed into a fit of vomiting and fell into a deep sleep.
When he awoke, Stan thought it was just a dream; but then he smelt the sickly sweet smell of death and turned to see the putrefying body of Xev. Her face and body were now bloated and Stan thought it a blessing that he no longer recognized her anymore.
Xev’s body was discharged into space; and Stanley used the baby LEXX’s weapon to vaporize Xev in a spectacular funeral.
Stan was now, never more alive! He was free….. Free of moral retribution from Kai. Free of condemnation from 790; and free of a conscience with the death of Xev. He now realized he had what he really wanted, total control of the LEXX. This aging, sickly looking human; was now as close to playing God as anyone would ever be – captain of the LEXX – the most powerful weapon in the universe. Stan thought to himself: “If God did not exist; then he really would be God, and do as he pleased”. “Who is your captain” called Stanley. “You are” called back the LEXX. Stanley smiled a smile of satisfaction and said: “We have much work to do…..”.
FlamegrapeParticipantI know, I haven’t forgotten. I’ve been working on a few other designs.
It’s just that I’ve been devoting a lot of time to the Xev player model. I’m almost done with it.
FlamegrapeParticipantTony, is your regular email tony@sadgeezer.com? Do me a favor and email me at flamegrape@flamegrape.com.
Thanxx.FlamegrapeParticipantI’d like to take the time to state my little pet peeve that I have about the Lexx.Com bboard.
Every time I start a thread, within a day, it’s given a one-star rating. It doesn’t matter what the subject is about. Someone is obviously seeking out all posts that I create and giving them a one-star rating.
If I ever find out who’s doing it, I’m going to flog them with a wet noodle.
In other words, I just don’t care. I just wanted to point out that someone out there is juvenile enough to waste the time to try to indirectly hurt my feelings and try to make me feel insecure. I kind of feel sorry for the hapless dweeb!
FlamegrapeParticipantI was the one who weilded the Stark Fist of Removal.
When we decided to create a fan fiction forum at SadGeezer.Com, we (the moderators) decided upon a few rules.
At first, I let Fatguy’s story alone. I merely gave my review of five out of five piles of crap because I thought it was tasteless. I know Fatguy pretty well. And I knew very well that the story was a tongue-in-cheek comment about the completely demented and sick post by MIKEtheSPIKE over at Lexx.Com. But not everyone knows that.
After some discussion with other moderators, I decided to delete the entire thread. This is the first time that I’ve ever had to do this action as a moderator.
And yes, Logan, I saved a copy of the thread. If you wish, I can email your text that you created. And feel free to post it again and expand upon it. Also, be sure to save text copies on your own computer next time.
Post whatever fan fiction stories you like. But if it is sexually explicit or has graphic gore, then it will be deleted. We’ll save a copy of the thread– for future reference.
FlamegrapeParticipantWell, what about cat juggling? Is that okay? I’ve gotten up to four cats at a time. Or has it been finally banned in Mexico?
FlamegrapeParticipantWhy? Does it kill them? I’m not sure I understand.

FlamegrapeParticipantI’ve been meaning to ask you. What is the planet Potatoho like?
FlamegrapeParticipantThe season 2 version of Xev is almost done.

Next I’ll work on the season 4 version, make some different skins for each, and then I’ll be done.
FlamegrapeParticipantNot to worry, Mandara. All is well. There was some confusion, but it has been cleared up. You’re a good sport and everyone around here likes you just fine.
And I agree about the PM function here at SadBoard. I’ve sent and received private messages that have gone unseen for weeks and months. There ought to be a better way for the bulletin board to signal users that they have new messages in their private mailboxes.
FlamegrapeParticipantI tend to agree, Valdron.
But I’ll add to that my current complaint with the total lack of webpages at Lexx.Com. I’ve sent emails, but I’ve received no reply. They need an attractive website to inform newbies of general information.
FlamegrapeParticipantI have never heard of such a thing.
FlamegrapeParticipantJust play nice.

FlamegrapeParticipantGreat. Now we’ll have to spray for bugs. And I was starting to like those little guys. Had names for some of them.
FlamegrapeParticipantThe one where 790 falls in love with Kai is 3.1 Fire & Water.
The one where Xev is taking a bath is 4.07 Walpurgis Night.
FlamegrapeParticipantTwo days left and no one has posted any bids.
I would buy it if I could afford it.

FlamegrapeParticipantVargas would have been flattered.
FlamegrapeParticipantI hope there is someone out there who has been saving all of the pictures that were posted up on eBay along with all those props. I’ve had trouble trying to FIND any of them, let alone download the pics.

Me too. When the Lexx said, “I’ll miss you, Stan. You were my favorite captain.” I got all choked up.
The kiss scene with Kai and Xev was heartbreaking too. Not because I felt for Kai. I felt for poor Xev.

Actually, I meant for some other DVD. Or CD-ROM? Liiiiiike… a videogame?
FlamegrapeParticipantLOL. Oh yeah. I keep forgetting about the main subject of this thread.
I’m the one for Xenia because I wouldn’t cheat on her. I tend to be a hermetic artist, not very interested in a freewheeling
lifestyle. So I’m safe. lol
FlamegrapeParticipantI tend to agree with lizard. And I’d also rule out some sort of behind-the-scenes politics. Xenia seems very eager these days to promote herself and her work of past, present, and future. LOL. She could be saving up all of her Lexx interview energy for another DVD in the future. Hey, why not?
FlamegrapeParticipantHappy Birthday!
FlamegrapeParticipantI’m always preaching the idea that more movies or a spin-off could be done that didn’t feature Kai. A new show could be done featuring Stan, Xev, Prince, Priest, and Bunny.
One thing that bugged me about Kai was that there was no character development. His character development started and ended during the first five minutes of the first episode of the first season. A remarkable feat for a television show to flatly maintain the character throughout the run of the show. But for me, it was getting a little old.
It has always seemed to me that Stan and Xev were the real heroes of the show. Their characters were gradually developing throughout the series.
And we only got started with Priest and Bunny. And Prince remains an enigma. And what of the fate of the souls of the Earth, Fire, and Water systems? The mechanism of the afterlife has been destroyed.
What happens now? Anything.
FlamegrapeParticipantIt’s always been that way. That’s about all I can say.
FlamegrapeParticipantThe poor quality of the SciFi.Com bulletin board technology has ceaselessly caused trouble.
And they just don’t care. I mean, think about it. If they gave a DAMN about sci-fi fans, they would provide a modern bulletin board system. But no. They have a cheap piece of crap they call a bbs and smother it with pop-up ads.
**** them.

No, biggie. I just take pride in my work. I want the sculpture to be as perfect as possible. Days go by without any progress while I think to myself, “What’s it missing? What needs to be changed?”
It would be so much easier if I could have her model in person! lol. There was a method I developed in art school where I take a makeup pencil to the subject’s face, draw grid lines, and then photograph the face from the front and side. This was a much cheaper alternative to rent laser scanning equipment that would cost thousands of dollars. The drawback is that the procedure takes several hours.

Flame, was it really only 20 minutes long?
Yes. The DVD is actually a collection of short films by Nick Lyon.
I can’t emphasize enough how important this film was for her selection to play the part of Xev. It is not a serious film or drama. It is goofy-ass comedy with a sick and twisted sense of humor.
In fact, I might even go so far as to suggest that Hilda Humphrey (and/or other films by Nick Lyon) may have been the inspiration to take Lexx in the silly direction that it did during the second season. Furthermore, Hellchild could potentially be described as a “lost episode” from the fourth season. In the fourth season, we never did meet Xev’s archetype/soul on Earth like we did with Stan’s and Kai’s. But Hilda Humphrey could easily fill that role. Imagine if Xev’s soul “woke up” on Earth during the fourth season of Lexx and you would have Hellchild.
This DVD is a gem for a Xenia fan’s DVD collection. I highly recommend it. But if you were disappointed with the direction that Lexx took after the first series or if the fourth season really irritated you, then don’t buy it. On the other hand, if you loved Xev, thought Prime Ridge, Moss, Mort, and other notorious fourth season episodes were hilarious, then you will love it!

From the Anne Carlini Interview:
Standing naked looking at yourself in the mirror, what do you think is your best feature ? ”My eyes,” she instantly responds.
Dammit! That’s been the hardest part of Xev’s videogame character model. I’m stuck on it right now.
When I released the BETA version of the videogame model, one of the most common criticisms was the eyes didn’t look right. In fact, they look a little bit cross-eyed.
I had modeled the character in the “old-fashioned” way. (“Old-fashioned,” meaning they stopped doing it a year or two ago!) The way I had modeled Xev’s face was to make a simple geometric mesh in the general shape of Xenia’s face. But it lacked fine details such as nostril holes, teeth, eyelids and eyelashes. Those fine details were represented using a simple texture map that was projected onto the geometric mesh. (Try to imagine projecting a slide photograph of Xenia onto a featureless wig manequin.) In simple terms, I cheated for the sake of computer memory economics. This practice was common among videogame designers.
Low and behold, I discover that they don’t do that anymore! Yes, some artists are still using the “old-fashioned” way of doing it. It saves time and trouble.
But Xev is important and Xenia is special. She says that her eyes are her best feature, then I agree. In all honesty, her eyes were what struck my interest when I first started watching Lexx. (Not her famous lips or anything else.) She says it’s important and, by God, I’m going to get them right!
FlamegrapeParticipantquote:
From the Anne Carlini Interview:
You also have plans for a comic book too ? ”Yes, I do, because I thought that it would be perfect to take those characters (LEXX) and move on with them in comic books. Because people have been saying that ‘they should all be in a video game or a comic book. Why don’t you do that ?’ So, because I’m also writing short stories and stuff therefore I thought it might be a good idea. It doesn’t have to be the same group, but we could start there and we’ll take it off to some new adventures.”
Yo!
I’m your man!
I’m working on it.

J.R. “Bob” Dobbs smokes Habifrop Zipulops, also known as “frop”, which is a sacred herb from Tibet. Tibet is also known as “Dobbstown” among the mutant yeti subgenii. Frop is the sacrament of the Church of the Subgenius. It is frequently (and inaccurately) confused with cannibis, tobacco, crack, or gensing (although the effects can be somewhat similar).
What exactly is in “Bob”‘s bowl? It’s one of the sacred mysteries. But it’s definately not cancer-causing.

I don’t know. I get them mixed up for some reason…

FlamegrapeParticipantWhat kinds of things are they accessing? The board? Or episode guides?
FlamegrapeParticipantDon’t buy anything at conventions that can be purchased in the store. If you buy a CD or a DVD at a convention, there is a good chance that it will be a bootleg. And if it’s a bootleg, the quality will not be very good.
The best thing to do is to buy a copy of Hellchild at the store. Or better yet, order it from Xenia herself and she can autograph it. I provided a link to her online store in my original post.

Yes, I have the entire series on DVD. But no, I don’t have the fan-produced series ending.
Do you live in the UK? Did you get a boxed set of the entire series all at once? I live in the USA and all I got were cheaply-made series of boxed sets of two DVDs each. I’ve heard that the UK PAL DVDs were much better.
At DragonCon, I bought a DVD that had two documentaries that were created by Fanderson. It was clearly a bootleg. It is probable that if I ever see the fan-produced series ending, it will be on a crappy bootleg DVD transfered from a worn-out videotape.
I was happy that I found a copy of the series one soundtrack at DragonCon. But I was disappointed to discover that it was a bootleg. It did not include the liner notes booklet.
FlamegrapeParticipantNo offense to Bill, but if they’re going to show intentionally cheesey movies, why not rerun old episodes of MST3K from the Comedy Central era?
FlamegrapeParticipantHDS, send me an email to flamegrape@hotmail.com. Or chat with me using MSN Messenger.
FlamegrapeParticipantWell, I wasn’t expecting you to use it imediatly. But it looks okay for now. I’ll fix a few things and post an new version in the future. I’ll incorporate SadGeezer.Com logos and graphics in this design and others.
Give me some time. It takes a couple of hours to find the material and put together just one good banner.
FlamegrapeParticipantI ordered a copy of Hellchild the instant I read that it was for sale on her website. I’m still waiting for it to arrive. I can’t wait to check this out.
