I have been told that we need to just QUIT whining about stuff like this. There is a very simple reason that this happens, that happens and the rules of logic and physics are so often suspended.

IT IS IN THE SCRIPT!

I also have some questions about that. At first I thought it was that they were embarassed by Lexx. Not impossible, since other sections of Salter Street were also. But then I saw some of the stuff they were working on or promoting, so I knew that wasn’t it.

Why no new Lexx? Perhaps they simply lack that good ol’ American determination to wring every buck they can out of their property? Perhaps they don’t think it would fly with out the supreme bean PD?

Ekkk! Saturday? Oh my. ;D it will might well be crowded that day. If you come by the fan table, I will lend you my cart and a magizine to read while you wait. Makes it pretty painless. Or as painless as it can be. 🙂

Where were you thinking of staying? Rooming with someone one site? Off site? How long will you be there? It is these little details that people need to know. 😛

Cruella DeVill – She is evil, fashionable and she like to wear puppies. What is not to love about this villain?

Ursula the Sea Witch – She sings, she mocks, she makes grand dramatic gestures and is so close in every way to theMother that she freaked theGirlFreind out when we saw the movie for the first time. “Michealle….. why is your Mom up on the screen??!?”

Are we noticing a Disney trend here? I would say it was from exposure in my formative years, but I was in my thirties I think when the Little Mermaid first came out.

Prince – come on ya gotta love him. Sinister, snappy dresser, barbed comments that flick out to cut and then he continues on with his urbane manners and silky voice.

Drakken – Smart and resourceful with good taste in henchmen errr.. henchwoman. He and Shego make a great pair. And hey, who can resist a guy with blue skin and a great pony tail.

Dr. Evil – What can I say, he makes me laugh. Especially when he and his son Scott start in on each other.

If you have something weird, that may not be arround forever …. yes. Face it, some of the more obsure DVD’s are only going to be available once. And even the cult stuff that sells well may have times when it is out of rotation in the manufacturers catalog.

10) Talking about the “Olsen Twins”

Hey watched a special on then on E the other night. Ummm, for the record they now prefer to be called Mary Kate and Ashley. 😛 (When one is doing mind numbing data entry, listening to mind numbing TV works real well. 🙄 )

9) Arguing that Macross was the greatest series ever, and everything else is just a ripoff

Who? What?

8.) Asking why Kevin Sorbo doesn’t do a Hercules/Andromeda croxxover.

Because the Gods are gifting me with his absence.

7) “The Sci-Fi channel does their very best”

Really? On what planet does this occur? 😀

6) Getting political in whimsical Sci-Fi threads

Aggghhh!!!

5) “Xev is ugly”

??? Compared to Zev perhaps. 😉

4) “Kai is ugly”

Blashphemer! Shall I sic the Droolers upon thee?

3) “I personally believe the Enterprise could whoop a Vorlon star killer, because…..”

It’s in the script?

2) “Did anyone watch Tremors last night???”

Sadly yes…. theSpouse. Or at least 5 minutes of it here and there. He has the attention span of a gnat.

1) “I sure wish they’d make some new Star Trek movies with the original cast.”

Ummm, some are Dead Jim.

Try that URL. It is now a regular bbs Tony. And a sign I find most encouraging is that they have a vacant moderator spot listed. Hopefully that means they will either be assigning one of their employees or perhaps one of their more responsible posters to that position…. (and no, oh snide one…. this is not something that anyone I know is angling for. 😛 😀 )

One other nice thing is they have a ‘report this post to the moderator’ button on all the posts. Hopefully this shoots a copy of the offending post to a moderator so they will a) be alerted to the problem and b) get the entire post rather than logging on to find a hastily altered post that had been revised after everyone had been offended.

This could mean that Sci-fi might actually no longer be a haven for trolls. 😀 Good yes? 😀

Congratulations to our own Aleck for being asked to be on a second channel in the Sci-fi TV track.

Friday
2:30 P.M. Dead but DVD’d
With DVD technology allowing the storage of several episodes on a single disc, many genre shows that had only a brief existence on air are enjoying a new life. What shows are next to be resurrected?
Panelists: Aleck Bennett (from Acorn Media), Jeniffer Coats, Kelley Harkins, Marcia Patterson

Since I know we all want to support Aleck, this will be a good opportunity for Lexxians to meet. 😀

The Warrior’s Apprentice by Lois McMasters Bujold

Young Miles Vorkosigan (Elijah Wood of LOTR) http://sararinoa.altervista.org/Elijah%20Wood!.jpg fails to pass a physical test to get into the Service Academy. On a trip, necessities force him to improvise the Free Dendarii Mercenaries into existence, he has unintended but unavoidable adventures for four months. Leaves the Dendarii in Ky Tung’s competent hands and takes Elli Quinn (Julia Roberts) to Beta for rebuilding of her damaged face; returns to Barrayar to thwart plot against his father. Emperor pulls strings to get Miles into the Academy. I think that ( Ioan Gruffudd King Arthur, Hornblower) http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0211181/11?path=pgallery&path_key=Gruffudd,%20Ioan would be perfect as his cousin Ivan

But I can’t think who would play his father, he was be commanding kinda military looking, a bit stocky and not reall tall. Think a thinner version of Brian Dennehy from Cocoon. Who would match that these days?

Ah, well I can wait.

I read that Will Smith had no idea what the bike was going to look like, He only gave them a general feel for the movies and then they watched a few trailers.

Apparently when they were on Letterman last year, they were described as a family that builds bikes and likes to argue a lot. So Paul said, “Oh, they’re like the Osbournes.”

Owwww oww ow. The mental image of Ozzie and Paul Sr in the same room, While Paulie and Sharon go at it tooth and nail.

I can’t even imagine how the Oz Kids and Mikey would interact.

But…. I found this great OCC Game! What do ya think?

how nice it is to get away.
how hard it is to be on the road.
how the trip is a great way to catch up on sleep.
15 When Cody is shown working on a bike, drink.
16 Drink Two when Big Paul gives Cody a fatherly hug or advice.

I think sometimes it also depends on the creative people in the group pushing for a release. Is there a fan base? Are you willing to let it go without trying to milk every dime out of it? Did someone go out of their way to make the contacts necessary to get a distributor interested in it?

What is stranger is when a show with more than enough episodes and a decent fan base doesn’t get released. Why? Does the studio/owner think that there might be more money to be made by holding it? Does one of the creators control it and are now embarrassed by it? Or do the people with the control of the show, just not have the drive or interest in marketing it further?

Well Sr is the owner and boss and if he wants to sit and do paper work (or drink coffee) that is his privilege…. But… I did think it was pretty shirtty of his to say that when he tells jr or Mikey nothing gets done so he leans on Vinnie.

Helllooooooo, they are not only your freaking kids, they are also your employees. If you did your job right, they WOULD listen to you. Unless Vinnie is the shop supervisor and getting paid to take this crap, Sr should be yelling at everyone and not just Vinnie.

Of course the thing got instantly cleaned because Jr and Mikey felt bad about getting Vinnie in trouble. It would be nice to think that this was an act that Vinnie and Sr have agreed to in order to keep peace in the family…. but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Kim Possible, Sigh… the reason you may not have seen it, is they keep moving it later and later. If they don’t come out with the DVD’s soon, I swear I am going to start looking for .avi files of the early episodes.

Dear CONnie,

What is the cast of LEXX doing these days and why will they not show up at Lexx DragonCon2003? Does the cast show up at any events if so where??

Will M.

Dear Will,

The Lexx cast are currently without a convention manager. This means that they have no one to front the money for travel, hotels, photos and other expenses involved with going to a convention.

DragonCon is such a draw for both fans and guests that over 95% of their guests do not get any kind financial assistance to attend. Sometimes a studio will pick up the expenses if they are promoting something that the star is in, but normally the guest is on their own, and either they or their convention manager must front the money and hope they make it back through autograph sales.

And, the cast have been to a few conventions lately. Xenia was in Australia a few months ago attending two conventions that had been set up for her by their former manager. And just last weekend, several of the cast appeared at a convention in Toronto.

No. For instance…. Mobil Oil has business interests in India. That their offices in India handle that stuff is fine.

That they also ship my credit info across the world so that lower priced workers can service my US account is not fine. Ask Mobile and they will tell you they are just consolidating their service centers.

So when you say, ah, Question, so you also have a gas credit business in India also… their answer is ‘NO.’ Question, then what exactly do you do in India that ties into credit card servicing…. their answer is ‘nothing really.’ Question, so exactly what else do these call centers service besides the US market… their answer umm, ‘none I guess.’ <<—- actual conversation with a Mobil escalation supervisor who IS in the US.
