Tell me about it. Ah well. Truthfully? I want Ross. 😀 *hides*

I have always thought that primary campaigns should have a spot to check for “I hate them all find someone else to run” I dare say both parties would have more than a few favorite upsets that way. ;D Think Richard Pryor and his “None of the above” campaign. ;D

But we are stuck with voting to continue down the somewhat thorny primrose path with the Bushly one, or trying something new with an unknown Kerry.

One thing that has been pointed out to me though, Kerry may not have the charisma of a Clinton, but he is willing to change course when proven wrong. While there are some people who like a man who sticks to his guns even when they are pointed at him, I am not one of them.

Me? I like a guy who can say….. whooo wait a minute…. you mean there are NO weapons of Mass destruction? Hummm, well then maybe we should just continue to devote our full attention to Afghanistan. Yes, yes, I know he said mean nasty things about my daddy… but this is good. Now we can devote our full energies to making sure that Afghanistan becomes a shining beacon of democracy in Middle East.

Well they are going to be showing a bunch of new cartoon shorts that lead up to and explain a bit of backstory for the new movie. I understand they are going to be a bit longer than the ones they previously did.

Perhaps that is what they were refering to.

hummm, perhaps this would be a good thing to give as prizes for a 790 poetry contest?

I do not know why, but I do wish they had done this in a panel last year… oh well.

Perhaps people could think them up, then drop them off at various times during the day?

Ah well, we will think on it. 😀

Well, people coming to the convention in good costumes get quite a lot of hugging…. often from cuvy scantily clad people who want to have their pictures take with you. 🙂 Even as old stone face Kai HDS got a bit of that…. but I immagine that other costumes like Prince got more. ;D

You should hear some of the stuff Valdron has to say about it. 🙂

As with most things, creativity can only go so far, because time and money rule in TV land also.

Stuff that might have been a kicker, turns out not to work quite as one would have liked and it will take time to reset, and reshoot and relight…. No time, we have no time people! Lets do something else and move on.

And money….. as great as the Game was, there were terrible times that they wondered if they were ever going to be able to finish it at all. Multiple re-shoots, editing time being eaten like popcorn…. they finally had to call in a bunch of freelancers and even then the darn thing was not finished until 10 days before airtime. Needless to say, this cost major bucks and that rippled down to episodes that followed it.

One of the things that any Lexx forum needs to be in universal in scope. And amazingly enough, there are tons of Lexx fans at DC are not part of the cyber lexx community and would not be interested in hearing about not Lexx, but the behavior of other fans.

If one had an entire Track, then you would have space and time for off-shoot topics. But since Lexx is part of a larger track we don’t have that opportunity, especially since there is nothing new going on Lexx-wise.

theBrother has mentioned that should this ever happen, the so called ‘computer addiction’ that people talk about will not be limited to a few (realitivly) hard core comp junkies, but will spread to a lot of the general public and become a computer epidemic. 🙂 Talk about never leaving the house!

I remember once reading an interview with the guys who use to do the TV show Starskey and Hutch.

One of them told of coming out of a night club one evening and getting pushed and taunted a bit by a few “you ain’t so tough” dudes. They had been being coached a lot on fighting styles and doing work outs and such so he decided to take care of this his self…. and so the fight was on.

What the TV shows don’t show… since they are fantasy, is that even when you know what you are doing you can break things, tear things and oh yes…. bruise and purple like a bad dog. 🙂

And let us face it… the Buff one would not look good black and blue in every episode. ;D Even if it was just makeup.

Naw, it is just the easiest way to describe it… if you are freinds with the mods, some people can do anything… why are some people given a second chance… ect….

Although, with the amount of slack some people are cut before the boom lowers that last one was pretty funny. Is being obnoxious and “daddy-o”ing all over the place in the same league with some of the other stuff that has occurred in the past? 🙂

Awww, poor Logan. Poor Sad. Poor Fx.

And even poor Maya. After all life sucks when you can’t have your way… and as someone very wise just pointed out on another board … it is how we deal with these little disapointments that shape people’s opinions of us.

When I checked and found the ban was still suppose to be in place, I had no hesitation with mentioning it. Since I knew the concerned party from the boards, in person and from numerous hours a night in the same chat room. But I wish I had known she didn’t know or remember that the ban was still in place. I would have tried to pm her.

But once Lady Jade posted and then Maya Pvt messaged me, there was no way for me to say anything that was not going to wind her or her supporters up even more. Was not discussing it with her adherents the best thing? I don’t know.

On one hand it feeds no fires to the flames, offers up no names that were only enforcing old decisions and gives no statements to be twisted. But…. perhaps, to some types of people, the silence itself is a windup. No win situation.

I have also thought about the ‘double standard’ jab. Is it a double standard to give a young and silly person a few chances? I would not expect a 5 year old to have the same restraint and disipline as a 15 year old…. So does cutting a tween/20 something more slack than a mature adult really result in a double standard?

TV: Feverish fan support can keep struggling programs afloat

    Vince Horiuchi
    Salt Lake Tribune columnist

The science fiction series “Farscape” is another example of successful campaigning. The SCI FI Channel is bringing it back in a miniseries after an obsessive effort by fans from across the Internet.

“Farscape” also shows that the Web, a communication canvas that wasn’t around at the time of the original “Star Trek,” can be a powerful tool for the TV-show supporter.

    ***

Cyndi Buchanan and her family drove from Sacramento to pick up two foals for a nonprofit called Mustang MAGIC, which pairs at-risk youth with rescue horses. The foals are a gift from a group called WatchFarscape, originally organized to save the late lamented sci-fi show from oblivion; the group has a program of donating horses to therapeutic riding programs.

The Farscapers raised the money to adopt the two foals, naming them Talyn and Crichton’s Spirit. After Buchanan heard about their program on the Web and made contact, WatchFarscape donated the pair to Mustang MAGIC. Buchanan and her kids had never heard of the TV show before, but on horse-delivery day, they were all wearing Farscape T-shirts.

    Penna Pinchir

    Dear Penna,

Funny you should ask that , as I just this evening received information about the Hyatt from another list I am on.

    The Message Read…

Just wanted to post a quick note for those of you coming to the con and staying at the Hyatt:

If you are staying 4 nights or more, the Hyatt offers a discount of $4 per night. I just called to verify my registration, and they had originally quoted me a rate of $152/night (single/double). When checking the D*C website, I noticed they listed the rate at $150,
plus the info about the discount. I asked the reservation clerk about the rate, and she then changed the rate on my reservation to take advantage of the discount.

I got this in my email this evening from a newsletter I subscribe to.

    ***

President Ronald Reagan’s elaborate funeral this week is already
triggering responses from those who remember his place in history
    differently from the eulogies.

For union members, there can be little doubt that Reagan, a former
president of the Screen Actors Guild, behaved as anything but a
union supporter in his political life. The PATCO firing remains a
watershed event that many see as the trigger for an era of
    declining union membership.

But remarkably enough, the problems the union movement faces from the White House are even worse now than they were under Reagan.

I was reared not to speak ill of the dead, and I will acknowledge
that in the political arena, Reagan’s style made up for significant
deficits of substance. Reagan’s sense of humor and ability to tell
a joke were not exceeded by any other president in my lifetime, and only President Bill Clinton was comparable in the ability to speak to an audience in a way that truly touches them.

Former Sen. Bob Dole’s column on Reagan in today’s New York Times touched on another aspect of style that resonates for those of us who in many instances believe in the opposite of what he stood for:

“Later (Reagan) taught me about compromise: he would rather get 80 percent and go back for the rest later than go home with nothing. Eighty percent was a pretty good deal. He taught me that success is never final nor defeat fatal, as long as you have the courage to act on principle and take the heat. Reagan knew that sometimes you win by losing if you stand firm for what is right.”

Guys, please. You may want to wait a bit before you mourn. There is every chance that Mr. Donovan will let the site be resurrected on another server.

AA doesn’t care about it, and most likely would not get into a p*ssing match with PD over it. At least not for several years when it achieves the high cult status (and potential marketability) we all expect.

PD has shown several times he supports the site and knows that he could find enough techie-Lexxians to handle the site administration without any effort or on going labor expense. The site is mainly BB, and they do not have the expense and bandwidth issues that a full blown site might have.

So I think you may just want to be patient. 🙂 There is statistically a very good chance that this will work out okay.
